Just want some reassurance as baby has been very very quiet for the last couple of days and refusing to move today. Tried sugary drinks and all other stuff but he is not moving. Have been on the phone with my midwife twice this week already so really don't want to call her again. Do I need to be concerned?

Thanks

Just spoke to my DH and he is coming home to pick me up. Not sure if I shall wait for him or just go myself. Really scared now

if you can get there yourself, just go and tell him to meet you there.

Probably they will tell you that baby is having a nice, long sleep, but it's better to know.

Good luck.

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/04/2008 14:30

Take your hospital bag with you in case you have to stay in. How long will it take dh to get home? Could you meet him at the hospital?

theyoungvisiter · 25/04/2008 14:30

don't panic (easier said than done I know!) but DO call your maternity unit - explain that you couldn't get though to your midwife - they are always really nice about this kind of thing and I promise they won't dismiss you or think you are over-reacting.

In the meantime have you tried having a very cold drink? That can sometimes help wake them up. Take it as cold as possible and drink it fast.

fettleandbabyfettle · 25/04/2008 14:30

Try not to panic - he/she is probably having a nice long kip!

If it is easy, I would meet DH down there, unless he can get home relatively quickly?

Have you rung the delivery suite/day assessment unit at your hospital to let them know you are coming in?

Let us know that everything is ok, won't you?

avenanap · 25/04/2008 14:31

Don't write any more. Get there is you can. We're all thinking of you and your LO.

theyoungvisiter · 25/04/2008 14:32

oh sorry - cross-posted. Very glad you are going - fingers crossed it will all be fine

expatinscotland · 25/04/2008 14:32

i wouldn't phone. i'd just go in.

Mikafan · 25/04/2008 14:32

Please let us know how you go when you can - good luck and hope everything turns out ok for you and your baby is just having a lazy day

TC08 · 25/04/2008 14:36

Thank you so much for all your support!

DH is on the way home, should take him 20-30 min depending on traffic. Really really scared now.

Will keep you posted. (will go and try some cold water now)

Thanks again x

after you have drunk the water, lie down until dh arrives, and do not move.

Sometimes it wakes them up.

xx

pooka · 25/04/2008 14:41

Have you tried a packet of frozen peas on the bump? I've heard that that can sometimes do the trick.

DoubleBluff · 25/04/2008 14:44

I am sure it is fine. Baby does slow down near the end.BUT best to get checked, you will only worry and worry, ggod luck.

TC08 · 25/04/2008 14:49

Had water with lots of ice but still nothing. Just made me go for a wee. So scared...

Get checked! This happened to me with dc4, the cord was wrapped 3 times round her neck.

bringmesunshine · 25/04/2008 14:57

Go to the hospital and reassure yourself all is well. Best wishes
