  1. Can you use fake tan whilst pg (Johnsons type)?
  1. Is it OK to eat half a fresh pineapple or a whole tin of pineapple EVERY DAY?

  1. probably
  1. I don't think that's wise any time, never mind when you're pg (have you seen what it can do to your guts??)

  1. No conclusive research on fake tan, but I fully intend to keep topped up this summer after pale, grotty pregnancy last time round!
  1. No idea!

Next Q

  1. How likely is it that I will need to be induced again (first two T+10 then T+11)
  1. If not induced, do you think I'll have a quick labour - DS (second baby) was VERY quick once I got going
  1. Am I off my head for even askign?

one of my girls ate too much once - woweee

lollipopmother · 22/04/2008 14:24

Is the feeling that my dinner is still in my throat (even though I ate it hours ago) heartburn/reflux then??

ImightbeLulumama · 22/04/2008 14:28

fake tan - yes, but test somewhere unobtrusive as skin can react differently when pregnant

pineapple - yes. you have to eat 7 fresh ones per day to get the enzyme effect needed to ripen the cervix, so half or a tin won;t be an issue, IMO. but the heartburn will bring you weeping to your knees

gaviscon - i drank it neat from the bottle without measuring it, so IME , no such thing as too much !!

being late - yes, you could well be late again, but i thikn you remember me mentioning client induced twice at 42 weeks, then 3rd baby arrived 2 weeks early..... i would think in terms of 41 weeks being when you should expect to have the baby. anything earlier is a bonus !! unless baby is particularly unhappy in utero, you can hold out with expectant management, until 42 + to have a spontaneous birth.

quick labour - impossible to answer ! but get DH trained to snap on the marigolds and have the hospital on speed dial just in case

no you are not off your head

ImightbeLulumama · 22/04/2008 14:29

heartburn, burns, it is very painful

LuXander · 22/04/2008 14:38

MamaG- pinapple in large quantities is one of the suggestions to naturally induce labour, not sure if it actually works, but if you're addicted anyway, it might be worth a try?!

@ spunk comment !

am pretty sure i ate my own body weight in rennies. drink milk

hopefully · 22/04/2008 14:49

Heartburn definitely burns, no idea what the food in the throat thing is, but it drives me bonkers. Also, randomly, seems to be worse when hungry. Or if I tense my stomach muscles - just sends everything up my throat!

Oh God, starlight is here with her gaviscon/spunk obsession theory.

Can milk make it worse? Someone told me that once and I am completely unconvinced, but am prepared to believe almost anything...

Well, don't want you traumatising too many people starlight! Think of me as your very own personal travelling moderator.

ImightbeLulumama · 22/04/2008 14:54

you guys are funny `!! milk is good for heartburn. also eat smaller meals and do not eat too late , no good going to bed on a full tummy. sleep slightly sat up

lollipopmother · 22/04/2008 15:01

Every time i'm in bed these days I think my supper is literally going to tip out of me, I can feel it all running back up my tubes to my throat, it's gross! I don't actually know what Rennies are for , but I want to be in the gang! Maybe they will help with my food wanting to make a reappearance???

I think I'm prefering the idea of a few hours of painful labour over months of painful boring exercise!

wastingmyeducation · 22/04/2008 15:17

Mmmm... Rennies....
Milk makes my heartburn worse, but I have low-level (self-diagnosed) dairy intolerance and don't normally have any milk at all, but have developed occasional tea craving while pg owwwwwwww!

xx

EffiePerine · 22/04/2008 15:25

FWIW, I excerised during most of my first pg (going to the gym until about 6/7 months then ealking etc.) and had quick pretty easy labour. Am planning to keep exercising with this one if I can find time to actually DO any

it made me feel a bit better as well

I don't think you're supposed to start exercise programmes while pg, but a bit of pottering about wouldn't do any harm and swimming is great for the later stages.

MarsLady · 22/04/2008 15:28

Hmm.... I'm guessing this was started by MamaQUADGCup!!!!!

Don't eat the fecking pineapple every day darling. It's all things in moderation. As to the tanning stuff.... honeysuckle... behave and start acting like a responsible mother to be. The porn movies can wait!

MarsLady · 22/04/2008 15:29
  1. How likely is it that I will need to be induced again (first two T+10 then T+11) not likely. Perhaps your babies are 43 weekers!
  1. If not induced, do you think I'll have a quick labour - DS (second baby) was VERY quick once I got going - No reason why not but then again...........
  1. Am I off my head for even askign? In a word YES!
