I have found out VERY early that I am pregnant and due early June (I am only 10dpo today) and found out yesterday I am pregnant (22 Sept)

Wanted to start this thread for those of you who have also just found out :) I found the thread when I was pregnant with my son super helpful!

I'm Lexie, 32, have a 14 month old son so am just squeezing in 2 under 2 :)

Is anybody beginning to show? I’ve had to go shopping today for some maternity pants as I can’t fit in my pants anymore. I’ve weighed myself and I’ve not put on any weight but I have a perfectly round little bump. Luckily it probably won’t be noticeable to outsiders but my nan outright asked today ‘is that a baby bump I can see?’🫣 so much for keeping it quiet until my scan.

ThisElatedMintDreamer · 29/10/2024 21:12

Just to add - I’m a y1 teacher, so once I return to work next week I’m expecting a few questions from the children if they are as observant as my nan. Any advice on how to tackle these types of questions from a class of 27 5/6 year olds?

Bewildened · 29/10/2024 21:42

@ThisElatedMintDreamer it’s almost certainly just bloating at this stage - the womb doesn’t appear above the pubic bone until after 12 weeks. If this is your first you likely won’t show properly until 20 weeks or later - I was still in normal clothes at 26 weeks with DC1!

Id also say that little kids are generally pretty unobservant about stuff like this - my 5yo niece hadn’t clocked her mum was pregnant when they told her after the 20 week scan, so I reckon you’ve got a good few months with the kids in your class.

This is DC3 for me and I’m not “showing” at 7.5 weeks but do feel like I look pregnant because I’m massively bloated and eating non stop, so have definitely put on weight and look puffy, plus my skin is horrendous. I don’t know how I’m going to keep it quiet at work for much longer.

Hello!

Congrats!

Eat while you can and make the most of it!

  1. prenatal vitamins inc folic acid!
  2. midwife booking appointment
  3. support group
  4. self care

You can book classes in advance, gives you something to look forward to. Nurseries also - doesn’t hurt to look and they’re often over subscribed.

Theres no hard and fast rules - what’s right for one may not be for another. ❤️

Thank you! I guess I don’t want to get ahead of myself in case something goes wrong. But maybe that’s negative thinking, I could always cancel and maybe best to sort before I feel really crap! :)

How many weeks are you?

im only six and my tummy has gone massive - couldn’t fit into any trousers today, had to wear a really old odd pair! And someone looked down at it at work - I think she thought i looked pregnant.

I don’t want to share for at least six weeks tho.

EalingLucy · 30/10/2024 00:10

Does anyone else have a heart shaped uterus? I just remembered I was told I do at a previous scan for something else and googled - bad idea, seems higher risk of miscarriage! :(

WillsyH · 30/10/2024 00:26

The above test was 3pm yesterday and the bottom test was 3pm today.

been trying for 2 years 🫣🥰

I don’t but I’ve had a lot of miscarriages, I think there’s lots of risk in everything.

Just take each day, and look after you ❤️

@EalingLucy I do.. I've got a DD already so I don't think it's any higher risk than anything else for mc tbh.

I’ll be 7 weeks on Friday according to my Flo app.
I’ve read online that if it’s not your first pregnancy you can start to show sooner, I was 8months before I began to show with my daughter.
Here’s to hoping we can keep it hidden until we’re ready to tell!

I do (arcuate uterus). It's considered a normal variation and not an issue. I've had investigations for recurrent miscarriages and have been told by multiple consultants it's not a concern. Hope this helps x

SummerC2024 · 30/10/2024 07:12

Just joined the WhatsApp group. I’m 6 weeks tomorrow and terrified after a MMC with twins in April. Haven’t told anyone other than husband yet and wasn’t going to join any groups as had to leave some last time but need someone to talk to!

MittensForKittens123 · 30/10/2024 09:08

@EalingLucy i have a bicornuate uterus, when I had my last scan they said unless its a very severe divide it’s not an issue. But in my last pregnancy I had extra scans in the second trimester to check my cervix length, as it can cause premature labour (in the end I went so overdue I had to be induced!)

PlanABC · 30/10/2024 09:40

There's also a facebook if anyone wants to join that now/later. Sorry I'm not very active here or there haha, but feel free to join and post!

I don't think it's visually very obvious in my case, but pretty much all of my trousers are getting uncomfortable, so I'm mostly wearing dresses and dungarees at 8w.
The sickness is the worst though, especially in the mornings and evenings. Had to take 2 days off work now as couldn't stop retching. Started to take meds for it now, but it makes me feel exhausted so I only take it as a last resort😟 anyone else going through this?

YorkshirePeridot · 30/10/2024 12:04

Angelselevenx · 29/10/2024 19:36

Anyone not have sickness and much nausea?

Currently 7+3 and had two scans which have gone well, have the odd bought of nausea if I eat too much or let myself get too hungry but other than that I'm feeling absolutely fine. Other than out of breath, sore nips and indigestion etc 😂

I'm 7+1 and also seem to be currently getting off lightly with nausea. I get a wave occasionally which is seem off by sucking on a polo mint. My main symptoms seems to be exhaustion and high resting heart rate. Even the breast pain seems to come and go 🤷‍♀️

I'm going to hold off joining a WhatsApp group until after my scan next week. I couldn't bear to join and then leave again if it turns out to be bad news. 😔

So happy for you!!! We were trying for about 21 months and it was starting to feel like it was impossible, as I’m 40. It’s so exciting isn’t it! (Also we should remember it’s totally normal for it to take this long also, just feels horrible waiting!)

I’m 6+2 and no nausea. I have sore nipples and heavy boobs but not too bad. Food definitely tastes a bit better! And I’m slightly hungry all the time. I’ve also had a reallt dodgy tummy for the past couple of weeks! Loose stools etc.
