I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

I'm just an avid lurker and was curious how it went! That's so exciting. I'm happy for you 😊

I'm hoping to get pregnant again for baby number 2 but I'm trying to lose a lot of weight to be healthy first! I'm very good thank you X

Quickdraw23 · 21/09/2024 12:15

Hi everyone. I have read all your posts and I hope you’re all doing well, and for those who have had bad news I wish you lots of comfort and understanding x

I got a positive pregnancy test just under two weeks ago. It is my first pregnancy after several failed ivf attempts (same sex relationship), and think I will be about 6 weeks tomorrow due around 17th May. I am really struggling to accept that it may have worked this time, and I have been spending too much time reading about everything that can go wrong! I have a viability scan on 3rd Oct, and I sort of feel like until I get through that I can’t allow myself to feel like it’s real.

i thought perhaps joining a thread like this might be a more positive thing to do, because of course it might all go to plan. Symptom wise so far have achy armpits (does anyone else have this?), a strange mild nauseous feeling when I’m hungry, and mild aching at my lower back, but otherwise nothing really out of the ordinary.

anyway, looking forward to following your stories and hopefully sharing some positive things.

Seasidegirll · 21/09/2024 12:30

@BrodieKD Amazing news!! I had a scan today and everything looks perfect. One little baby with a strong heartbeat, so incredible to see. I’m 7 weeks and 2 days so a little bit behind you x

Nosejug · 21/09/2024 14:01

Hello all, hope it's alright to join. 6+1 (I estimate) and first pregnancy after 3 years of trying and a failed ivf round in my last cycle. I'm 38. This was quite a shock...! I see a similar story in yours @Seasidegirll and @Blossomofhope

I've had light intermittent spotting, red two weeks ago and pink or brown since, almost always in the morning. And mild cramping. I'm so scared of loosing this magical thing after such a lot of difficulty. Like others have said I won't feel it's real until I see a flickering. I've a slightly earlier scan on Thursday due to the bleeding. I haven't informed them of bleeding since the first time, they just said if anything changes to let them know. I hope it's right just to sit tight till Thursday.

Have taken weekly weeks indicator tests which have been increasing (now at 3+) so there's that at least. Have read through everyone's stories. Such a rollercoaster.

Appzy · 21/09/2024 17:43

Hi everyone!

Hope everyone is doing super well.

I am pregnant with no 3. A happy surprise as my GP said diplomatically!
Anyone else feeling super rough? I have insomnia, constant nausea, fatigue.
Similar to the last 2 but I was hoping I might be third time lucky but seems no such luck!

I estimate I'm due around may 10th but only came off implant end of July so very unsure of dates!

Glad I've found you all going through a similar stage.

littlestrawberryhat · 21/09/2024 18:55

Hi everyone. Sorry for diving straight in but is anyone else suffering with an upset tum? Feel like I have the nausea, food aversions, lack of apetite and rather than vomiting it is coming out the other end (so sorry). I feel a break in the nausea when this happens. I’m due April 29 according to booking in app but my first baby came 16 days late so anticipating a May baby for sure! Can’t remember the upset tummy last time but tbh I feel like I blanked it all out because this time feels so much worse!! Did anyone else experience their last pregnancy through the height of Covid? Best wishes to every lady on here. It’s such an anxious time, isn’t it? X

2025mama · 21/09/2024 20:01

@Appzy I am about 8 +3 and feel absolutely awful.
I am feeling constantly nauseous, have discomfort all over, feel smelly and bloated etc. Nothing like my other pregnancies.

Poster57 · 21/09/2024 20:10

Feeling awful here too. 7 weeks + 1. 8pm on a Saturday night and I’m in bed. Unfortunately I’ve suffered HG in the past so fearing the worst. Bloating is unreal as the day goes on & it’s so so uncomfortable. Sickness and nausea is no fun & have the upset tummy part too. Fatigue really kicking in and tonight I’ve a fun headache to boot although I think that can maybe be attributed to my flu jab today. Feeling miserable.

Thridtryforourrainbow · 21/09/2024 20:29

Hi everyone and congratulations to all you mamas I’m looking for some advice I got a faint positive Tuesday which wasn’t really a surprise as i get pregnant very easily we have been being very carful as we were waiting until after our wedding in November to try again but fh messed up I’m very happy but feeling very unsettled as this is our 4th pregnancy the previous 3 ended in late miscarriage. I have my hen do next weekend for 5 days in Spain I am still very much looking forward to this just concerned as I feel there is no way I will be able to blag my way out of not telling all the girls as I won’t be drinking does anyone have any ideas of how I could potentially keep it a secret. Thank you ☺️

Zeeha · 21/09/2024 20:53

Congratulations @Thridtryforourrainbow! How about saying you're on strong antibiotics or another medication that you can't drink with? They might buy it!

Thridtryforourrainbow · 21/09/2024 21:19

Thank you @Zeeha i did think this the only problem one of my friends that is coming had a wedding this weekend and was prescribed antibiotics and requested some she was safe to drink on so the fact we have so recently had this conversation I don’t think I can even use this excuse 😬

2025mama · 22/09/2024 07:39

@Seasidegirll congratulations that sounds adorable and so reassuring 🥳

Oh wow very similar!! Congrats on the positive news. Im with you, it’s very hard to believe especially after a failed ivf the cycle before. Has anyone given you progesterone for the spotting? I had some spotting at first so I started taking progesterone. 😅 and have you had your hcg tested?

Thridtryforourrainbow · 22/09/2024 14:08

Could I please get the link to the Facebook group 😊

Nosejug · 22/09/2024 16:29

@Blossomofhope no hcg testing, (not even a booking appointment booked!) just the clear blue weeks indicators which have increased accordingly by week. The epu just said call if anything changes but nothing about pessaries. I had them for 14 days after my previous cycles implantation, but they said a fresh transfer didnt require them further. No spotting today which has made me happier! At least not increasing. I’ve had a serious lletz done, and had a near fatal haemorrhage after, so im thinking (hoping) it's just my now sensitive cervix.

huge congratulations on your hopeful news too! It’s quite surreal being on this side of the fence, right?

Very surreal. I go through moments of happiness and then catch myself and think it could all end tomorrow so don’t get carried away. I know it’s just because of my history though. Hopefully we’ll both get to the finish line 🙂

Nosejug · 22/09/2024 20:50

Here here @Blossomofhope ! And I feel just the same, keeping so cautious with my feelings. I’ll look forward to your updates. Best of luck :)

Sierra26 · 23/09/2024 06:18

Congratulations @Nosejug , I know how it feels to have a failed ivf cycle so can imagine how wonderful it is to go on to conceive naturally. Amazing it also happened to @Seasidegirll and @Blossomofhope ! I wonder what the science is behind it.

I’ve done my first digital test today after using cheapies til noe, and got Pregnant 2-3, as expected for being 4+5 and 13dp5dt. Allowed myself a few moments of delight when I saw it but I know the next 8 months are going to be filled with anxiety…

Nosejug · 23/09/2024 11:18

@Sierra26 congrats on your good news too :) I'm trying to just enjoy being pregnant one day at a time. Early nhs scan on Thursday (I'll be 6+6 roughly). I've just finished a job as well so time is going to go verrrry slowly 🫣 I hope yours is a smooth and happy journey x

Nosejug · 23/09/2024 11:20

Oh and the science question, absolutely! I took almost two weeks extra to ovulate than usual and wonder if the extra time helped the eggs. Or just... the drugs?! Happy with the effect in any case!

Sierra26 · 23/09/2024 11:33

Thanks @Nosejug ! Aw you’ll need to find something creative to keep you busy! Let us know how the scan goes.

I was the same after my ivf egg collection round. I couldn’t do a fresh transfer as I got OHSS, but it took me ages to ovulate next cycle and I was so hopeful we might fall naturally. We didn’t and the long cycle meant I had to wait for what felt like ages for our first frozen transfer.

Blossomofhope · 23/09/2024 15:00

Hey guys,
do you think it’s possible to get symptoms at 5 weeks? I think I’m 5+5. I’m already experiencing nausea, sore boobs, lack of motivation and mild ache in my hip. Am I going mad?😂

Pheebz · 23/09/2024 17:29

Definitely! I was feeling really sick even before I missed my period with my first pregnancy. It lasted til about 10/11 weeks.

I have nothing this time round… which is quite a weird feeling!

Pheebz · 23/09/2024 17:33

Just to follow on from that, I’m 4w+5 at the moment and I am yet to feel almost any symptoms apart from a sensation of slight pressure just at the bottom of my ribcage now and again. I was so nauseous by this point last time so this feels a bit disconcerting.

Was/is anyone else still feeling pretty normal at this stage?
