So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

Helloooo just hopping on this thread from the May 2025, I hope that's alright. Second baby, first is a boy currently 19 months old.

I am due 6th May 2025 but have been advised that they'll arrange a CS for 39 weeks, which will mean I'll be having this baby at the very end of April!

Sorry I've not read the whole thread, just the last few messages and I'm going to join in with feeling crap too. I've been ill for at least 3 weeks, it's been utterly miserable and impossible to tell what's pregnancy vomit and what's horrible virus vomit.

Has anyone experience any spotting in their second trimester? I’m 22 weeks today and had some light pink spotting on the tissue when I wiped this morning. I don’t have any other symptoms but after a miscarriage earlier this year I’m just thinking the worse. Everything was fine with our 20 week scan. I have been doing a lot of cleaning and stretching to reach up the past couple of days. Also may have lifted something too heavy yesterday. Could I have just overexerted myself? I’m going to call the midwife later but just wondered if anyone had been in the same boat.

Blue2020 · 23/12/2024 12:34

@Dojo13 I did in my last pregnancy at 25ish weeks but I also had a low lying placenta so I was told to look out for bleeding. I think I caused it - I ran up some stairs in a rush at work so I think I over exerted myself). The hospital told me to put a pad on and if I bled any more then to call them, but I never had any more bleeding. Contact your midwife or maternity unit for advice.

Have you got a triage number you can ring? I had some light bleeding back at 14 weeks, I rang and they weren't concerned just told me to rest for a bit, it stopped and I booked a private scan the next day which helped reassure me.

Dojo13 · 23/12/2024 14:22

@Blue2020 @MaybeItsJustTimeToStop I rang triage. I tried the local one first but couldn’t get through so then rang the one based at the hospital I will be giving birth in and was told to come in to get checked by the doctor just in case. I then tried to call the local triage again and got through but they have said they can’t help and I need to go to the other hospital so I’m on my way there now. I’m sure it’s all fine and it’s just precaution as I’ve not had any more pink since it first happened. It is slightly peachy/yellow but I don’t know if that’s because I’m probably dehydrated now. Hoping they’ll be able to see me soon and there’s not a long wait 🤞🏻

I was asked if I had a low lying placenta but at my scan she said it wasn’t covering my cervix so I assume it wasn’t. It is anterior but I don’t know if it could have moved at all as baby has grown a bit. I think the fact I’ve not felt any kicking yet is also why they’ve recommended I come in.

Dojo13 · 23/12/2024 16:49

They couldn’t find any bleeding at the hospital so think it was just one of those random things. They didn’t give a cause. They used a Doppler and found baby’s heartbeat straight away. Who knows what it was! Glad.I got checked out though. Now I can relax over Christmas!

Thanks for your advice both.

Blue2020 · 23/12/2024 17:43

@Dojo13 im glad they have reassured you and checked.

Also in my last pregnancy the placenta was anterior and low lying and I hardly felt movements until 22/23 weeks and even then it was very feint and brief. This time I’m now 23 weeks and it’s posterior so I have felt movements earlier.

@dojo13 glad all is fine, its such a worrying time, really glad they checked you out x

Blue2020 · 28/12/2024 23:16

How is everyone doing?

I caught a cold from my toddler on Xmas eve so I’m just struggling through the days. I now have a very bad cough again and I’m hoping it just goes away soon. The cough is also making me have accidents if I cough too much.

Allswellthatendswelll · 28/12/2024 23:59

@Blue2020 poor you!

Finally not sick anymore at 24 weeks just a bit of heartburn in evenings. Having a little girl which is nice as I have a DS already. Found Christmas pretty exhausting though! I have an anterior placenta, as I did with DS, but definitely feeling more earlier second time.

Lcw29 · 29/12/2024 05:08

Ive had the flu since Tuesday. Feel extremely rough and have been given antibiotics for a chest infection. Started them last night but have had about 1 hrs sleep. I can't lie down or I cough and my sinuses are so blocked my head is agony. Are there any natural remedies for clearing sinuses?

Honestly I've never felt this rough. I even my flu jab 😭

Blue2020 · 29/12/2024 08:29

@Allswellthatendswelll ah exciting. We found out on Xmas Eve that we are having a girl too. I have a DS who is a toddler now.

@Lcw29 hope you recover quickly from it. I had that from 9-11weeks of pregnancy and the antibiotics helped, they are the only thing that did.

You could try steam, either a bowl and towel or a shower. I have just been taking paracetamol every 4ish hours but to be honest I don’t think it actually did anything.

Oxforddictionary12 · 06/01/2025 21:09

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well. Can I ask for your perspectives please? Second baby is due 4th April. I am debating the elective c section vs vbac. My consultant says I can choose. (1st baby emergency 6 section- I got to 8cm and then they found out he was breech!)
There is no easy way to give birth I know- however one thing is playing on my mind- economic factors. As the 30 funded hours would kick in the term after the baby turns 9 months- if I were to have an elective section at 39 weeks and baby were to be born in March, they would be eligible for 30 hours from the April 2026. If baby were to born in April they would not be eligible for 30 hours until the September 2026 which is probably similar to £1000 of extra nursery fees (rudimentary calculation!) Can anyone confirm that I've understood it correctly? If so, it's the most unfair system ever and I'm preganancy enraged that it should be a consideration when planning a child/birth. I'm really hoping I've got it all wrong.

I don't think so because they refer to terms, not months, and terms don't tend to end on the last day of the month as far as I'm aware!

Blue2020 · 06/01/2025 23:38

@Oxforddictionary12 you are sort of correct but not fully. It’s 9 months for the 30hrs - so if you have a March 2025 baby I believe the 9 month funding would be available from 1st January 2026, if you have a April 2025 baby you can get the funding from April 2026. So not as bad, still three months but it’s better than what you mentioned above.

Thats my understanding anyway, I could be wrong. My second is due in April.

Oxforddictionary12 · 06/01/2025 23:55

Thank you @blue2020 and @TheBeesKnee

Yes, I think that makes more sense- funding would be available from Jan 26 for a March 25 baby or April 26 for an April 25 baby. (Don't know where I got September from!) I'd have to check what date in April the 'term' starts as I'm not sure if it follows the school terms or not- and Easter jumps around every year too just to complicated things further!

Thank you both 🙂

Blue2020 · 06/01/2025 23:59

@Oxforddictionary12 choose whatever way you would like to birth your baby though. I guess your baby may not be breech this time, it’s all unknown.

Oxforddictionary12 · 07/01/2025 07:32

Thank you @Blue2020 yes, I just need a crystal ball really! Good luck to anyone else making similar decisions.

Lcw29 · 08/01/2025 16:53

I'm now 25 weeks. Feeling pretty awful as I had flu then chest infection and still not 100% . Had bloods and I'm anemic but waiting for a GP to call. Saw someone today fir something else but she didn't seem to have time to talk through my results which annoyed me a bit. My blood pressure is low. 83/51
I have zero energy and just feel dreadful but just got told to drink more.

Blue2020 · 08/01/2025 18:13

@Lcw29 I can relate a bit. Also 25 weeks and I’m not sure if it’s a chest infection I have now it’s a bit less severe than when I had it at 9-11weeks but I’m snowed in so haven’t tried the doctors. My cough is bad and when I start I don’t stop, includes phlegm and sometimes sick. I’m not bed bound this time though and after 13 days of illness and cough etc I can finally focus to do some work. So it doesn’t seam as severe. I’ve just been ill since Xmas eve.

I think for some reason they don’t seam that bothered about low bp. No idea how you increase it. Are you on iron tablets? I started those about 4 weeks ago and it’s helped me a bit.

Pinkieblue24 · 08/01/2025 20:38

hey all, i am nearly 25 weeks & have started having really bad pelvic girdle pain. It hurts to roll over in bed, get out of bed, climb the stairs & change my trousers. I feel like my pelvis is so so sore & almost about to rip off. I have read online that its pretty normal at this point & to try & not put pressure on one side of your body but my god i am struggling to move/get up or out of the car especially when you naturally dont think about how you’re moving daily. I have been using a hot watter bottle on my lower back but i still feel the pressure in my pelvis. Anyone else experienced/experiencing this? I have a midwife appointment soon so will definitely be bringing it up!!x

I'm not on iron yet as doctor needs to talk to me first. I'm hoping it will help though. I'm sorry you've been unwell too. It's not fun!!

I've had very bad hip and ligament pain. It's on and off but last night it was extremely sore to turn and get up. Definitely talk to the midwife. Just thought I'd let you know your not alone! It's horrible 😞

TheBeesKnee · 09/01/2025 23:59

I am at the stage of pregnancy where coughing vigorously caused me to wet myself a bit. Luckily I was at home but I thought I'd last a bit longer than 23 weeks!
