So we’ve been TTC baby #2 for 5 months. Had a positive test in April that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. So this is cycle 3 since then and got a very faint positive on an internet cheapie last night at 9dpo. I went out and bout a CB digital today and have got my BFP confirmed today on it 😊
My EDD is 4th April 2025 going from LMP and cycle length.
I’m aware it’s very early days and anything can happen that’s why I’ve decided not to tell anyone I know until after my period is due which is Friday. Just can’t keep it to myself and would love for others to join and talk to who have recently found out they are expecting in April 2025!

Definitely sounds like the start of something @rlar!

Hope your 20 week scans go well @rlar and @hopeful4us.

We found out that we were having a baby boy 💙 I was convinced from the very start that it was a boy. Not sure if instinct or just 50/50 luck haha.

Congratulations 💙🥹 feeling a little apprehensive but mostly excited for tomorrow. Got my pregnancy yoga class this evening to keep me calm!

@hopeful4us that’s exciting! I’ve been wondering whether other people are feeling movements too. I’m 19 week but FTM and have an anterior placenta so not expecting to feel anything early!

Same, I'm 20 weeks tomorrow, with anterior placenta and not felt anything. Can't wait until I do though.

@hopeful4us exciting about the flutters 😊

Has anyone flown long distance whilst pregnant? I’ve got to travel for work in a couple of weeks when I’ll be 19 weeks. I’m feeling a bit worried about the flight. It’s 7-8 hours. From what I’ve read they recommend walking around every hour (which seems fine for the day flight but the way back is a night flight and I’ll have been working all day so might struggle to stay awake)

Has anyone used compression socks and did you just buy them online or from a pharmacy and have them check they fit properly?

Also has anyone used a foot hammock or anything similar? Don’t know if that would be handy or just an annoyance. I’m only 5’1 so I know I won’t be able to sit with my feet flat! I usually cross my legs up on seats when I can on flights.

gg9320 · 19/11/2024 14:47

@Dojo13 yes, I flew to Australia, 13 weeks on the way there and 17 weeks on the way back. It was a 9 hour flight then 14 hour flight with a few hours layover. I wore standard boots compression socks and got up every couple of hours (mostly not a choice, just I constantly needed a wee!). I did find it more uncomfy than usual (unsurprisingly!)

can work fly you in business or premium economy? Our policy is business if the flight time is more than 6 hours.

Whenyoupickapawpaw · 19/11/2024 16:36

@Dojo13 yep, I flew 7-8 hour flight at 11+4 weeks and back at 13+6 weeks.

Got up and walked about every hour, drank loads of water and wore compression socks. GP and midwife advice was to keep hydrated and moving. Thankfully, I had no problems.

I got my socks from here: shop.lrselfcare.co.uk/products/activa-moderate-compression-unisex-ribbed-sock-class-2.html?_gl=1fsq1ot_upMQ.._gs*MQ..&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzfjzt-noiQMVPzwGAB2EjxqvEAAYASAAEgJGmPD_BwE

But think you'd need to measure your leg for size and assess what level of compression you need. If you're low risk, class 1 or 2 is ok.

Thanks - that’s good to know! Unfortunately we are flying economy 😅 I’ve requested an aisle seat so I’m hoping they will book me in one. Worst case there’s a few of us going so I’m sure someone will swap with me if not

Thanks for the link, that’s really useful. I spoke to the pharmacist today via the GP and he suggested the same. Said there was no need for aspirin unless advised by midwife. Was a bit worried because my blood pressure has been higher than it has been in the past but it’s never been flagged as high at any of my midwife appointments so I’m probably just being over cautious.

gg9320 · 20/11/2024 21:02

@Dojo13 I hope you get your aisle seat :) one thing I forgot which was quite handy is asking for another blanket or I think I used a scarf to sit on because I found the seat really uncomfortable I think because of generally having sore hips/pelvis. It made it much better otherwise my bum went to sleep and hurt 😂

@Ribenab3rrysorry it won't let me delete the @ not sure why it's tagged you sorry.

Allswellthatendswelll · 27/11/2024 19:28

I just had my 20 week scan and all excited for the gender and baby had their legs crossed! 😂

They couldn't get all the visuals they needed so we are back next week. Hoping legs are uncrossed by then!

SORRY FOR THE LITTLE RANT
hi everyone i'm due April 10th with baby boy this is our first child but 4th pregnancy , so been overthinking alot haha.
ive got an anterior placenta and not being able to feel baby boy move yet is freaking me out because everyone is saying i should be able to feel him ...
oh and my midwife never awnsers her calls or tetxts and ive been waiting for s reply since beginning of october .. so tough because im supposed to trustv and rely on this woman but so far she is unable to gain my trust due to a lack of reliablity

Whenyoupickapawpaw · 28/11/2024 07:35

@HazelLurker congratulations and being worried is totally understandable. I also haven't felt kicks. I had my 20 scan last week and saw baby girl was fine. Asked the midwife about movements and she was very reassuring that it will take longer if you've got an anterior placenta (I have too). She said every pregnancy is different so try not to focus on what other people are feeling. I'm also a first time mum so think we feel it later too. I asked for the latest week that I should expect a first movement and she said 24 weeks, so movement should come soon for you ❤️ I thought I felt the odd whoosh the other night but it hasn't happened again so not sure what it was x

Allswellthatendswelll · 28/11/2024 18:01

@HazelLurker I have had an anterior placenta for both pregnancies. I currently feel the odd little pop or flutter at 20 weeks but nothing consistent. Later on in my last pregnancy I had more of a pattern of movements and could feel proper kicks.

Dojo13 · 10/12/2024 07:26

Thanks everyone on your advice re:flying whilst pregnant. I’m back now and all went fine. Bought compression socks and had a foot hammock and seat pad which I used on the way there. On the way back I got lucky, they opened up a whole section which they hadn’t let people book seats in and let a few of us go and lie down in there as it was a night flight so I had a whole row of 4 seats to myself.

I’ve got my 20 week scan today. I’m feeling very anxious as I always do before a scan. Can’t help but think the worst. Feel like I’ve maybe started to feel slight quickening over the past couple of days but nothing major yet. Fingers crossed all is okay 🤞🏻

Blue2020 · 10/12/2024 07:46

An anterior placenta makes a huge difference. I had anterior last time with my son and I couldn’t feel him until 22 weeks, even by 26-28 weeks it was mostly only 7-10pm and fairly gentle. By 30 weeks I had gone in for reduced movements. They were fairly strong by 30 weeks so I knew one evening without any kicks/nudges was different.

This time it’s posterior (and I remember what to look out for) so I’ve felt them since 17/18 weeks already. I’m now 21 weeks. They are very infrequent of course but now so distinct when I do. I would say that’s quite a difference between anterior/posterior from my experience.

I think they say if you have anterior you might be more likely to end up going in for reduced movements later on. I had a session on the ctg with my son at 30 weeks where I could clearly hear the kick but felt nothing. Don’t be afraid of going in though, you will know your pattern and any deviation is worth checking. In my experience they were helpful.

Lcw29 · 11/12/2024 15:31

I'm 21 weeks but last few days feel totally wiped out, nausea is back and I feel lightheaded every now and then. All I want is to stay in bed! And despite anterior placenta baby is moving a lot. Not sure if I should be concerned or not? Anyone else feeling this awful?

Zypig · 11/12/2024 19:02

@Lcw29 21 weeks here as well. Sadly I’m not sure I’ve ever stopped feeling as you described 🙈. My symptoms are less severe than they were but I think I’ve accepted I’m going to feel a bit rubbish throughout. The lightheadedness is likely because your blood pressure is lower than usual (which is a normal side effect). You can always order a bp monitor on Amazon if you want to check between midwife visits. Hoping you feel better!

I have felt awful all the way through too. It's horrendous isn't it!? However I thought I was improving the last 3 weeks and suddenly felt awful again. I might well check my blood pressure as you say. I hope you manage to feel a bit better too. I'm trying to focus on the end result lol

I am 23+3 and I am feeling dreadful this week again, I checked my BP last night and it was 97/60. After two tangerines and 3 glasses of water it came back up. My pelvic pain is bad as well & have the glucose test Tuesday which I am dreading :(. I hope you feel better soon x

Blue2020 · 11/12/2024 21:52

I’m also 21 weeks. I started feeling very tired from 11 weeks onwards and by 18 weeks having moments of almost passing out. My midwife did t seam bothered so I eventually asked my doctors for a blood test. Turns out my ferritin levels had reached 8 (30-130 is the range) and my haemaglobin had also dipped. So now I’m on iron tablets. I had low iron in my previous pregnancy but it started very early that time.

Could be worth looking into that?

Lcw29 · 12/12/2024 06:21

Clearly a few of us feeling rough. I'm sorry you guys are feeling it too! My hips have also been a nightmare lol I might ask about hemoglobin levels as well actually. Just to cover everything. Although I hate iron tablets as I'm already constipated as it is hahaha

Ah yes I've had the glucose test before. Is it your first one? I hope all goes well with it! 🙏

TigerLily90x · 12/12/2024 08:18

3rd daughter but first glucose test yes, I don’t know if that’s because I’ve got a 13 (nearly 14) and 9 year age gap! The baby is also moving lots this time around as well. Hope you feel better soon x
