@elb1504 @LilacSnail @Toriiaa Thanks all for your thoughts on the Facebook group - yep, sounds like it will come into its own a little further down the line when we're all a bit more settled. It'd be lovely to have it as an ongoing thing - everyone here is so supportive and friendly that it'd be great to have a way to keep in touch.

Although I fear all you experienced ones are likely to have continuing questions and panics from newbies like me even once the babies do come along 😂

@Kt1704 Sorry for the belated response but I completely agree with what everyone else has very rightly said. You should not feel guilty. Your health and comfort absolutely come first and you've told them you're pregnant, so they will understand - and, crucially, you have the protections that come with that.

Yes, on an objective level it might be a bit tricky for the shift pattern now and then, but people will manage. I'm sure your colleagues primarily feel enormous sympathy for you above anything else.

And it's no wonder your body is working overtime - you're having twins, so everything will be intensified. Just be gentle with yourself and hopefully you're well on the way to the point where the sickness will start to ease. Take care, and please don't make yourself feel worse by worrying 🤗 xxx

@UrbanSquirrel It's always nice to do a pinned post on Facebook group with everyone's due dates on once 12 week scans start happening.

Toriiaa · 19/07/2024 10:34

@UrbanSquirrel
To be honest I thought to myself, I'll join a Feb babies group and I can hopefully help the ladies the same way I was helped when I joined the mums group with my pregnancy.

Although I'm yet to tell them I'm pregnant 😂
Waiting for Mondays scan and then I'll release it

MyHappyNewt · 19/07/2024 12:06

Hi everyone,

I’m very late joining but better late than never! I’ve been reading along for the past few weeks but didn’t have a mumsnet account until now.

My due date is 10/02/2025 and I’m currently 10w4. We already have a three year old. I’ve had quite a bit of spotting and have already had two scans because of this. It’s been a stressful time so far because of this and a MMC at 10 weeks in February. The most recent scan at 10+1 showed a growing babe with a strong heartbeat but this was followed by them finding that baby’s head wasn’t looking how the expected. An internal scan showed a normal head structure but the consultant has said that it’s too early to assess/say for sure at 10 weeks. So I don’t really know what to think and am pretty stressed at the moment! Just trying to keep busy and distract myself/be joyful that there’s a HB until we get our NT scan on the 26th.

UrbanSquirrel · 19/07/2024 12:57

Hello @MyHappyNewt and welcome! (Love the name.) Thanks for joining the thread ☺️ I'm sorry to hear that you had unsettling news in your scan re. the baby's head, but surely it's a good sign that the follow-up internal scan showed all was looking well? Fingers crossed for your scan on the 26th - not long to wait now 🤗 And hopefully it will be entirely good news x

@elb1504 I think the lovely @DauntedAF, who set up the Facebook group, included a poll about due dates - although that just shows the numerical spread throughout the month rather than a list of names. But I agree, it would be lovely to have an idea of exactly who is likely to be due at the same time.

@Toriiaa Well you're doing a lovely job so far of being reassuring and supportive to everyone ☺️ It's so helpful to have feedback from existing mums otherwise the rest of us will just end up getting our knickers in a twist about things which are probably completely normal 😜 x

Had my booking appointment today (10+1) so that feels like another milestone ticked! Got my plan thing I didn't realise there would be so many more appointments upcoming. I'm on the "red" pathway which I think just means consultant led like others have said due to my pre-existing hypothyroidism. Roll on 5 August for my scan 😊

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Lidlisthebusiness · 19/07/2024 15:25

Had my booking appointment today, gosh it went on for ages! This time is going to be so very different from all the other times, there's so many more risks and I definitely had a moment of "what on earth am I doing?!"

superj21 · 19/07/2024 15:30

Snap @Lidlisthebusiness 😁 when's your scan ?

UrbanSquirrel · 19/07/2024 15:32

Congrats @superj21 and @Lidlisthebusiness - some more milestones ticked off! ☺️ x

Piluka · 19/07/2024 15:48

@superj21 that's great! I also flipped out about the amount of appointments with the midwife. I have one on the 25th of December!
I have my 12w scan on the 2nd of August! Just 3 days before yours! I hope yours goes alright. I feel scared as I'm 38 (feel 10 years younger though 😅) and there's more chances for something to go wrong but I try to be Positive!

Btw, today feeling amazing (I don't know if it's the pill for the sickness, I had today off at work or what but I feel myself after 6 weeks!!!) I hope I didn't jinx it saying so. Hahahaha.

superj21 · 19/07/2024 16:14

@Piluka 25 Dec!! Surely they'll let you reschedule that 😅. Scan day can't come soon enough 😊 definitely try to be positive! My mum had my brother at 39 and me at 41 and both were smooth and uneventful pregnancies 😊.

I'm so glad you're feeling better! I found the medication so effective most of the time. I did feel god awful this morning though (even with the meds) and threw up in my mouth twice, but feeling a lot better this afternoon

Lidlisthebusiness · 19/07/2024 16:17

@superj21 I haven't got it through yet, I'm only 8+4, so it'll be a few weeks yet. Officially due 24th Feb, but will have baby first week of Feb.

superj21 · 19/07/2024 17:14

Ah @Lidlisthebusiness got you. Seems like everywhere does it differently, I got my scan and booking date at the same time 😊

OrangeSlices998 · 19/07/2024 17:19

Had my booking today, luckily 3rd time round I knew what to expect and that it was really just a long serious of questions with a midwife I’ll likely never see again!

SBelfast · 19/07/2024 21:02

Hi ladies, just wondering if those of you who had your booking appointments brought your partner? I quite want my husband there, I'm also 38 and anxious about everything that can go wrong. Extra pair of ears helps when your anxious to take information in :)

I didn't this time or before but I don't think there's any issue if you want to, I know my SIL took her husband to her first one.

To be honest it was very long and boring with lots of boring questions and not that much information but there won't be any issue with you taking someone.

SBelfast · 19/07/2024 21:46

Thanks @elb1504 :)

jaybeez · 19/07/2024 22:15

@SBelfast my husband came when I was pregnant with my first. It was helpful because the midwife asked about some of his medical history, so it was good to have him there. I have my booking appointment next week and he's unfortunately away, otherwise he would have come this time too!

SBelfast · 19/07/2024 22:32

Thanks @jaybeez :)

UrbanSquirrel · 20/07/2024 06:18

@SBelfast Yes, he's been to everything except the NIPT bloods appointment, and is very keen to be involved. I actually found it really helpful to have him there at the booking appointment because the midwife carefully went through his family medical history too, and we could both ask questions. So I would say absolutely: it helped my husband to feel part of the process, and to calm some of his worries about becoming a dad (nothing serious, just an instinctive 'argh!' 😂).

Ultimately, though, do whatever you want to do x

Morning guys, I haven't booked my booking appointment yet as don't want to until I know everything's okay at my next scan.
Woke up to bleeding this morning.....why do these things happen on a weekend. They told me to ring if I bleed but there closed on weekends 🙄
That's me stressing all weekend

Hope everyone else has a lovely weekend

QuantumPanic · 20/07/2024 07:28

Oh no @herewegoagain123456 . My EPU has a 24hrs/out of hours line - is there a list of additional numbers on badgernotes/mypregnancynotes that you can try? Can you call the hospital and see if they can direct you through to someone?

I don't have any notes or anything as think I'm only about 8 weeks.
The number goes straight threw to the maternity ward at weekends, but don't want to bother them as I presume they won't scan me on a weekend?
