She slept great last night!
Seems more settled this morning, toothache is horrendous for us so I can't imagine the pain they have to go through 😭

RachLeeds · 19/07/2024 14:34

We have two teeth too… I think one is through and the other one nearly is 🤞🤞🤞🫠

Has anyone else gone from 4 naps to 3 suddenly and longer wake windows in the afternoon between first and 2nd nap?

I'm not following wake windows as such but we've definitely dropped a nap to 3.

ProudMummyxo · 19/07/2024 20:02

Tried little man with a small bit of mashed carrot earlier; he loved them 😃

Cheetocat · 21/07/2024 11:33

@ProudMummyxo That's so cute, I'm going to try my little boy with food in the next couple of days, ordered him a high chair so we'll start when it arrives. 🤩

ProudMummyxo · 21/07/2024 20:19

We have a roller 😃 back to front then he bounced himself straight back over 🥰 he looked so proud of himself x

Can't believe we are talking weaning already 😩
How fast has that gone?! time flys by so quickly! I want it to slow down!
I feel like once weaning starts they seem so grown up all of a sudden, they aren't a little baby no more!

I took my boys to the caravan this weekend and it was baby boys first time swimming! He absolutely loved it, he's such a water baby 🥰 has anyone started lessons with their LO? Would you say it's worth doing at this age?

I started swimming lessons at around 3 months. It was lovely, but I got very angry about the number of forced submersions. I stopped doing them as was concerned LO was losing his reflex and hated seeing all the babies stunned or upset. Water Babies dunk them so much to get you to go for photo shoots. There are much better groups I wish I’d researched into earlier, and now I’m just going to local pool to have fun and take some of the exercises and activities from the class, so they were good from that perspective. If you start, read terms carefully, water babies make you give a full month’s notice, so you could end up paying 4 times £22.50 a lesson if you decide late you don’t want to go. They also don’t let you play catch up or skip lessons so you’re committed to £22.50 a week no matter what. The company is a joke.

Little update from me that may be helpful for anyone with allergy babies as I know there are a couple of us and not everyone was receiving great care.

We went for a review with the dietician at the hospital on Monday about her CMPA and she said we should start weaning now. LO is a little over 5 months but apparently allergy babies wean earlier. The dietician did mention this at our first appointment, we started first tastes with purées about a week ago and it's been great.

Ahh I haven’t been on here for a while but this was so refreshing to read! Our hospital wrote and said there wasn’t any room on the waiting lists for LO to see the dietitian and to basically do it ourselves. I have also started just over 5 months so I’m glad I’m doing something right!

Cheetocat · 27/07/2024 11:37

My little boy is tasting food every day now, it's so fun and he loves it, he whinges when it's time to stop and clean up. 🤣

Sunshineclouds11 · 27/07/2024 22:15

@Cheetocat I've been giving DD tastes too!
Going to start her properly next week.

Hi @CharXo I remembered someone was struggling but couldn't think who! The dietician emailed me a milk ladder and told me to start it at 9 months. Would you like me to send it to you?

Cheetocat · 31/07/2024 12:55

Little one is officially crawling, where has the time gone? I can't believe. I find myself lying in bed looking at photos from February and missing my newborn. So excited for him to have a bit of freedom now that he can get around though, he's so nosy and will love it!

Thewildthingsarewithme · 31/07/2024 20:42

@Cheetocat wow that seems early, how old is he?? Bet he’s loving the freedom!

Sunshineclouds11 · 01/08/2024 06:37

@Cheetocat That is early! Well done little boy!

My DD is currently able to go in a circle. Helps whilst playing to get what she wants.

2boysandmee · 01/08/2024 08:53

@Cheetocat how old is you LO now? The fun really begins when they are on the move!
My boy can go round in a circle on his belly and move backwards 🤣 he's always getting stuck under the sofa!
The last 2 nights he has been awake at 3am practicing rocking on his hands and knees!

It goes by so quickly doesn't it 😩 they don't stay little babies for long at all

Cheetocat · 01/08/2024 11:25

He'll be 6 months on the 9th, he's my first so I have no idea when they're supposed to be doing these things. He was going in circles for about a week and getting on his knees on one spot but not moving and then yesterday it clicked I think, it's a cross between army crawling and regular, looks exhausting.

He's still quite floppy when I try to get him to sit upright though, he's, okay with support but he's nowhere near sitting unaided, how are all of your babies with sitting?

Mismatc · 01/08/2024 15:28

My DD sits unaided but doesn’t crawl. She rolls and pivots around in a circle with a little bit of sliding backwards. She has not got on the hands and knees at all yet. Born 13/02/24 at 38 weeks exactly

I love child development and find it all so fascinating. I was desperate for my first to do each thing and used to find ways to encourage it all. Now that I’m on my third, I find it fascinating to see which skills she is interested in pursuing and how she works it all out herself. I find it a magical journey

LavenderSweetPea · 01/08/2024 17:04

I can't believe your little ones are crawling/close to crawling. My boy just turned six months and he barely rolls. He's home front to back a few times but never got close to front to back rolling. I've been a bit worried about it tbh... Anyone else in the same position?

Meeting · 01/08/2024 18:42

We're at the spinning in circles/verging on crawling stage. She's excellent at rolling over both ways though and can get pretty far away from her play mat through rolling alone!

Thewildthingsarewithme · 01/08/2024 18:44

@LavenderSweetPea crawling is a 7-10 month milestone but it’s also completely normal to start at five months or 15 months or skip crawling all together. If you want to make sure you’re giving your little one more opportunities to crawl you could make sure they are getting the recommended tummy time if they aren’t already, it’s two hours a day at this stage but you certainly don’t need to worry!

LavenderSweetPea · 01/08/2024 18:47

@Thewildthingsarewithme 😱two hours a day? We barely do ten minutes 😅he hates it, and I hate it because more often than not it causes him to vomit which isn't nice for him at all :(

I do plenty of play mat time with him though with him on his back

ProudMummyxo · 01/08/2024 20:08

@LavenderSweetPea my little one hated tummy time too so I honestly stopped doing it cos the upset or like your little one making him sick just wasn't worth it. He's honestly mastered rolling all by himself by wanting to get to his favourite toys so maybe try it that way instead x

Sunshineclouds11 · 01/08/2024 21:15

@LavenderSweetPea DD hated it too!
Them lying on your chest is classed as tummy time if that's any better for you.

ProudMummyxo · 02/08/2024 13:54

Can these first teeth come through asap! Losing my mind 🤯🙈
