@DmcinT still no period here. I’ve been on and off doing ovulation tests (with varying levels of obsessiveness 🙃) since August. I’m trying to leave 6 hour gaps between feeds to get my cycle back but no luck yet

Cheetocat · 15/02/2025 08:50

My son eats all his breakfast and then wants mine. Every morning. 😂

Ihatewinding · 15/02/2025 10:44

Can't believe some of you are on 1 nap days and so seamlessly!

Wake 6:45ish, can be 06:30 or 7 but don't give bottle until 7
Breakfast 8:30/45.
Nap 9:45ish or 3 hour wake window max
Usually wake him at 11 and then give lunch about 11:15
Bottle 1ish
Nap 2-3:45/4ish but wake at 4 to conserve bedtime
Tea about 4:15
Bottle 5:45, top it up and has rest at 6:15/30
Bath then bed for 7/7:20ish depending on when woke from nap 2

My first was a big day napper but did a shorter night and later bedtime, this time we prepare to cap naps for earlier bed time haha. First now goes to bed at 7 so works well for staggered bath and bedtimes and both down by half 7.

I reckon will be a while before 1 nap here but hope it's sooner than 17 months which my daughter was when she dropped it completely. Ngl have appreciated the early break in the day whilst recovering from being anaemic and severely iron deficient though!

Cheetocat · 17/02/2025 15:20

My little boy who once dropped below the 5th percentile after bring born on the 50th is now thriving. I'm so proud of him. He's now 22lb8oz /10,225g which is around 70th I think.

Unrelated question, my little one constantly as pirates and chokes on water and I can't figure out what's going on, it doesn't happen with other liquids and it's happening with both open cups and straw cups. Has anybody had this happen?

CheeseAndCrackersx · 17/02/2025 17:24

@Cheetocat maybe he doesn't like the taste of plain water. I know I can be a bit like that tbh. Is there anything you can add to it like a drop of NAS squash just to add a slight flavour & see if that helps?!

Has anyone LO's had their 1 year jabs yet? If so how was they after? Next week for us 🙈 glad he finally has the MMR 1

HopeAndStrength · 18/02/2025 19:06

Yes we had the 1 year jabs last week @CheeseAndCrackersx

It wasn't as bad as I had built it up to be. Little one cried and wanted cuddles, but it was over quite quickly as the nurse did two jabs in each thigh.

We carried on with calpol the next day but he was absolutely fine.

My little boy had his on Monday morning and he has been a bit out of sorts since then. He is very grumpy and tired and also struggling with trapped wind for some reason. He's way better this morning after a rough night but still extremely clingy, I'm trying to have a cup of tea and he's like a spider monkey on my legs.

We live in Southern Europe and my little one had two in each of his little arms. 😢

I still haven't heard anything from HV in regards to the 9-12 month review etc, I feel we've been forgotten. Do you think I should call? But then again I didn't really like my HV anyway so not having her patronising self around me hasn't been a bad thing 🤣 I'd just like to know what little man is weighing if I'm honest

OP posts:
Sunshineclouds11 · 21/02/2025 14:30

@CheeseAndCrackersx
We had ours this week, pretty straight forward if I'm honest.
Give them a ring if you want it or just take him to clinic for weight.

It wasn't my normal HV, I haven't ever seen the one who was assigned me 😂

Cheetocat · 24/02/2025 21:44

We're having a really bad sleep regression and also baby has been begging for milk at night even though he's been night weaned for a while. If I don't breastfeed him he will stay awake asking for it for literal hours. It's not thirst because I give him sips of water. Such a difficult phase right now.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 24/02/2025 22:19

@Cheetocat it could be a mix of hunger & comfort, I know you don't want to go back to BF over night but he could be burning more energy in the day now he's on the move so he could just want the extra calories right now.

Could you try supper if don't want to bring back the over night BF instead, like weetabix? Occasionally when my son has that close to bed then his milk feed he's slept through.

I think it's mostly a comfort thing, I ended up letting him have it last night and he was so relaxed. He has dinner at 7 and goes to bed at 8 so he wouldn't have an appetite for supper. On the whole he's been wanting a lot less food, at breakfast this morning he was saying he was all done after one strawberry. 🤣

CheeseAndCrackersx · 25/02/2025 22:29

In regards to the jabs; did your nurse do 2 at once then another 2? I just dunno if I can't sit there or even him whilst she's doing 1 after another 🙈
His other injections there was 2 nurses doing them but tomorrow it's a different name so not sure if just going to be on her own

@CheeseAndCrackersx Ours have always been one after the other for DD.
Tbh I find it better than 2 at once which happened with my DS.

They are just as quick.

novamama · 02/03/2025 22:26

@Cheetocat we've been going through a regression/leap type thing too the last 2 weeks with peaks in the last few days. We are not night time BF weaned yet, but it's been a big change from 1/2 wake ups to 4-5 lately. She's also completely drinking the entire milk available despite eating well in the day. My milk supply has increased so much I had to pump at work again in the day as I was exploding by midday. DH tried to settle baby at night without feeds, but without avail. Not sure what to do, we are all absolutely exhausted.

Night weaning is gone out the window for us now and nights are just getting worse in general too! He was up from 02:30 - 04:30 last night screaming, jumping, climbing etc.. Requesting milk every two minutes and then unlatching to play around. I got him to sleep in his cot a few times and he was up on his feet instantly the second I took my hand off his back. My partner has settled him a few times but it takes him a very long time. I've been feeling dizzy in the evenings because I'm do tired. Hope our babies can feel more relaxed at night soon..

novamama · 04/03/2025 01:47

@Cheetocat I'm so sorry to hear this.. I'm sending solidarity hugs your way.

Thewildthingsarewithme · 04/03/2025 08:41

@Cheetocat @novamama we were in the same position and I have night weaned now. You might not feel comfortable doing this but this is my second and I had this with my first and he then didn’t wean until two, I don’t feel able to do that again. My husband has got up with him every night and held and rocked him, it has been awful, he’s screamed and been so upset but I know he is not alone and he is being comforted just not in the way he wants. After three nights we are now down to one wake up and we are all so much happier. Totally understand if it isn’t for you though, I didn’t with my first

Mismatc · 05/03/2025 11:08

I did 6 weeks of night weaning (my partner did the first week alone) but she was still waking just as frequently. In the end I’ve gone back to night feeding as we were all so exhausted. I’m gutted though because I want another baby

Thewildthingsarewithme · 05/03/2025 11:52

That’s so difficult to go through all the upset for it not to work! The only thing that has got me through is that he is waking less so I really feel for you. Conceiving a third was a factor for us too as I have only had one period a few months back and nothing since so just hoping getting him weaned will help. Probably a stupid question but have you tried offering a bottle in the night?

LavenderSweetPea · 05/03/2025 20:34

Ladies it's been ages, I missed you all! Congratulations to all the babies on turning one ❤

I've decided to start the progress of weaning off breastfeeding entirely. I've always fed to sleep for naps and night sleep so I've now stopped doing that (today is only day two!) I'm still feeding the same amount, just doing it 10-20 prior to going upstairs for sleep, I'm just holding and rocking him instead. It's going to be so hard if he wakes in the night though I dunno if I'll be able to get him back to sleep! Once we're in a good rhythm I'll start dropping feeds completely/replacing them with the bottle - we currently do morning, evening and two in the day. I'm a bit sad this journey is coming to an end for us, but I don't think little one is going to self wean and I think it'll only get harder now as he gets older. Plus I've still not had a period at all and whilst I haven't decided if I want to have another baby, I want to know it's possible. I have PCOS and previously had very irregular or completely absent cycles although I was lucky enough to conceive my son naturally. It's a lot but I'm so proud of everything we've achieved :)

CheeseAndCrackersx · 06/03/2025 13:01

Ladies do they still need added vitamins over the age of 1 once formula/milk intake drops? He was on 3 6oz bottles a day and depending if he woke then it'd be a 4th but it seems that's dropping again so he's gonna drop under the 500ml limit which I remember it being.

I've been told to give my little boy iron because of being vegetarian but after his current vitamin d drops end I'm not getting more of those. After 1 milk is for calcium more than vitamins or anything. They can go off milk altogether if they consume two other sources of calcium per day.
