Thank you for the tips, mamas! We haven't tried anabestol so will go look for it today!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 06/02/2025 23:47

It's been 1 whole year today since my slow labour began. OMG, ladies do you remember 🙈 so worth it in the end though 🩵🥹

It feels crazy that it's been a year already since we all started having our babies one by one. Reading everyone's stories was so comforting when we were all in it together.

I'm going to try tackle the birthday cake today if little one allows me. I'm making him a banana cake with peanut butter whipped cream, so excited!

Sunshineclouds11 · 07/02/2025 10:09

Birthday prep for me today also!
Can't believe she's 1 tomorrow.
I was stuck on the ward this time last year waiting to be induced as no beds.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 07/02/2025 18:54

Hi ladies another cows milk question coming up. So I've been doing all bottles bar bedtime(that's full formula) like 5oz formula and 2oz milk, it's how I'm introducing it whilst I use up the tubs of formula, but obviously formula is made up warm then I'm adding cold cows milk & so the formula can sometimes remain warm in the bottle and others not so much so what I'm wondering is can I go back to making up formula bottles & putting them in the fridge & then when I add the milk I can just heat it all up together... is that possible? Google isn't really helpful.

msp2023 · 07/02/2025 21:53

@CheeseAndCrackersx hmmmm there probably isn't any specific advice for that! To err on the side of caution - could you just warm up the formula and then top up with the cow's milk?

I would probably say it's fine though and to just give it a go - I would just check the milk and see if it's the normal consistency when warmed up / hasn't curdled or anything - highly doubt it would lol. Especially as it's just a gentle warming and not a boil!

Sunshineclouds11 · 08/02/2025 08:48

@CheeseAndCrackersx I'm not sure actually, I think I would heat the formula up then add the cows milk in.

No idea though tbh.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 08/02/2025 12:32

Thanks both 😊I'll carry on as I was 😊 it doesn't seem to phase him anyway if it's cold, it's just me overthinking it probably 😂

What's everyone's routine like? Ours can vary by around an hour but at the moment it's like

7am - awake
8am - breakfast
9am - nap 1
12pm - lunch
2pm - Nap 2
5pm - snack
7pm - dinner
8pm - bed

He usually has 3 or 4 hours of day sleep total.
If he wakes up closer to 8am then the second nap is really short, I try to cap it at 4pm

@CheeseAndCrackersx my little boy is a wild one too ❤️

HopeAndStrength · 13/02/2025 19:31

Hi everyone,

Our usual routine is roughly:

7am wake up
7.15 breakfast and milk
11.45 lunch
12.30 nap
2pm wake up
4pm a light dinner
5.45pm supper
6pm bath
6.30pm books
7pm milk and bed

msp2023 · 13/02/2025 20:55

Currently:

8am: Wake + brek
10.30am: Snack
12pm: Lunch
1pm - 3pm: Nap
3.30pm: Snack
5pm: Dinner
6.30pm: Bath, milk, books
Sleep by 8pm-ish

In the process of sleep training into her own cot / room (she's been in the bed with us for six months!) and change timings slightly to align with what will be her nursery hours in a month or so.

Aiming for everything to shift forward by around an hour or so.

Have been sleep training for a few days and she's gotten so, so clingy in the day / refusing food :( assuming because of the huge routine change and loss of closeness in the night.
It's making me feel super sad and emotional 🥲

CheeseAndCrackersx · 13/02/2025 21:20

@HopeAndStrength & @msp2023 did you phase in to 1 nap or did it just happen? Mines still 2 naps

OP posts:
msp2023 · 13/02/2025 21:51

@CheeseAndCrackersx happened quite naturally for us - she just didn't seem to want to nap in the morning :) when she resisted for a few days, I didn't attempt and then waited to see when she was tired and it fell around 12/1ish so huzzah new nap schedule 🥰

HopeAndStrength · 13/02/2025 22:27

@CheeseAndCrackersx the transition to one nap happened naturally, he started resisting the morning nap so we brought his lunch and afternoon nap forward a bit and he's been on one nap for about a month now.

novamama · 13/02/2025 23:10

Our current routine is:

6-6:30 wake up & milk
7 breakfast
9:30 nap
11 lunch
14 milk and nap
15:30 tea
17 milk/snack
18 dinner
19:30 milk&sleep

Cheetocat · 14/02/2025 07:53

I'm loving seeing all of these, thank you!
I really like two naps, I hope he sticks with them for a while longer! I didn't put milk on mine because I only nurse him when he signs for it apart from waking up in the morning.
