Ate a cold macaroni pie

Hi,

not sure if I’m over thinking. I am 10 weeks pregnant and ate a cold macaroni pie will it be ok? I didn’t even think about heating it up as I’ve been struggling to eat with really back vomiting. Then when I seen that I wolfed it down. Will I be ok?

What specifically do you think may cause an issue?

JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods · 01/06/2024 16:10

You'll be fine.

dementedpixie · 01/06/2024 16:10

It's all cooked before you bought it I assume? You'll be fine

Nannyfannybanny · 01/06/2024 16:10

What on earth is a macaroni pie?

ClaireCar90 · 01/06/2024 16:11

Yeah was all cooked but just cold when I bought and purchased it. Thank you both

Like Mac and cheese or topped with mash/pastry?

Maybe it’s because I am from SE England but I’ve never heard of it either.

Then it poses no particular danger unless it’s being sat around for days.

ClaireCar90 · 01/06/2024 16:13

Literally macaroni in a pie. No mash or anything x

Food of the gods when you're in the mood.

Unfortunately, I've developed a gluten intolerance and can no longer risk eating them.

Cinai · 01/06/2024 16:15

Cold food is absolutely fine, you really don’t need to heat everything. There are only very few things such as raw fish or meat or certain cheese should be avoided unless cooked.

heldinadream · 01/06/2024 16:17

So you've found something you can eat that doesn't make you sick? Quick, order a whole crate full!
Good that you're eating @ClaireCar90. Won't do you or the baby any harm at all. 😋

user172052531 · 01/06/2024 16:18

Really sorry op but I'm obviously from the same part of the world as you and I thought, good luck explaining what a macaroni pie is 😂
But you'll be fine, it's very low risk type food.

I want one now!

OnceICaughtACold · 01/06/2024 16:18

Sounds yum! It’s absolutely fine.

ShowOfHands · 01/06/2024 16:19

The above should help op.

ClaireCar90 · 01/06/2024 16:20

Haha I know. I couldn’t believe it when I walked past and thought I need to eat that. Usually I’m trying to force a dry piece of food down my throat 😅😅

dementedpixie · 01/06/2024 16:21

I’m not pregnant but a macaroni pie (hot or cold) sounds AMAZING 😭 I need to make one.

SingingSands · 01/06/2024 16:22

Yes all good, and pleased for you that you saw something that made you want to eat, it can be so difficult in early pregnancy when you have bad nausea.

I miss macaroni pies! 🥧

Sorry, never heard of a scotch pie either! 😂

I'm off to Google a macaroni pie, sounds lush (I only opened the thread to see what it was tbh)

OP, does it say 'must be heated before eating' on the packet? A surprising number of things say 'can be enjoyed hot or cold' when you read the small print!

dementedpixie · 01/06/2024 16:29

Scotch pie has minced meat in it
