I have just tested positive today with a due date of 2 February. Have had a look and I can't see that anyone else has started a group for Feb yet. Is there anyone else out there who would like to join?

Does anyone know how I can take the hcg blood test? I'd like to ensure my hcg levels are growing and was wondering if I should ask my GP for this? Thank you

I have used the NHS website to calculate the due date and then the pregnancy+ app. But I know when the conception happened because it was the only day we tried 😅

bravotango · 06/06/2024 17:55

@retrievermum oh interesting! I guess we'll just keep going and see what happens 😂 I'm also interested to know if toddlers that aren't weaned pre sibling arrival are jealous...? I think mine would be....

retrievermum · 06/06/2024 18:11

@bravotango I’d love to know that too! I held my friends newborn today and DD came crawling over at high speed and tried to smack the baby 😭😂 hoping it’ll promote sibling bonding to tandem but let’s face it, it’ll be DD shoving the baby out the way to get to both boobs at once!

LK2610 · 06/06/2024 18:37

I’m a Londoner too and my doctor wasn’t interested @EastLondonCoffeeFiend so I’ve self referred / registered at Kings for now and I’ll do some research and might change later. Congratulations 🥳

EastLondonCoffeeFiend · 06/06/2024 20:37

@Tulipwood @LK2610 thanks for confirming this is apparently a London thing! Explains why my non-London friends went via their GP but mine wasn’t interested lol. How bizarre! I guess I need to decide where I’m self-referring then- I’m off down a Google black hole 😂

I am Surrey based and also have had to self refer myself to the hospital. GP doesnt get involved at all!

i also have little to no symptoms - wake up feeling a bit hungover every morning with some nausea that wears off of I eat. I had some sore boobs but they have gone now. With my miscarriage I remember having sore boobs non stop for 7 weeks! I’m only 4+2 so early days yet.

What app are people using to calculate their due date?

I’m using NaturalCycles, had been using it to track ovulation etc beforehand so potentially fairly accurate but think you’d need to put a lot of historic data in if you started now unfortunately :/

UrbanSquirrel · 07/06/2024 05:21

@EastLondonCoffeeFiend @AH2023 I'm south west London / Surrey and it's the same here. Registered with the maternity unit at Kingston Hospital and they've arranged our first midwife appointment at our local health centre (where our GP is) so it does all seem rather confusing. But I'm just going to do what people tell me to do 😂

robynnnnn · 06/06/2024 17:47

What app are people using to calculate their due date?

I've been using Flo which has been really good. It has different modes - conception mode, where it highlights your ovulation period based on your logged period dates and basically tells you which days are most fertile. Then there's pregnancy mode where it shows you what the baby looks like week by week and you can log symptoms etc with lots of articles and other info.

American based, but they aim it at a global audience as far as possible.

PS Reached week 6 this morning! Exciting but also nerve racking as is first one and am just really hoping it sticks.

Apparently it now looks like a tadpole, so Happy Tadpole Week to any fellow early-Feb 6-weekers out there 🤗

fsr111 · 07/06/2024 06:56

Wow 6 weeks already @UrbanSquirrel! Feels like these first few days / weeks go by so slowly!
Can I ask what, if any, exercise people are still doing? We have a Peloton bike which I love and don't really know how much more steady I should be taking it.

6 weeks is good I’d say that’s gone fast but I bet it hasn’t for you! I’m 5 weeks today hoping I can get to 6 weeks too 😊 It’s my first as well and first time being pregnant

Thecomfortador · 07/06/2024 09:28

Regarding exercise, I remember many years ago doing a park run (5k run) and being over taken at about 3k by a heavily pregnant woman. So I think just do what you can, if you're used to doing lots of sports, keep it up if you want to. I walked to the shop yesterday and felt out of breath haha so should probably do more.

UrbanSquirrel · 07/06/2024 09:28

@Roxttc and @fsr111 Thank you!

@Roxttc Keeping everything crossed for you. We had two false starts last year but both were around what would have been the late four week mark, so cautiously hopeful. But not getting too excited until we've had a scan.

@fsr111 I would also like to know about exercise. My mum has already told me I shouldn't be taking the bins out 😂 but in terms of exercise (aerobics for me) surely that isn't a bad thing? 🤔

Thecomfortador · 07/06/2024 09:33

Honestly, with my first I was laying turf down in the garden at about 20 Weeks, carrying all the rolls from the front to the back garden. You don't need to be wrapped in cotton wool for 9 months.

Is anyone else feeling the rage? I'm up and down like a yo-yo, got an aversion to my kids who just want to cuddle me (but have a knack of jumping on me or pinching skin / lying too hard on delicate bits. They're 8&6). Also had a right mood on yesterday in the shop. Was glad to get home and calm down.

UrbanSquirrel · 07/06/2024 09:40

@Thecomfortador That is very good to know! Thank you. I think my mum is just being massively overprotective (am only child) 😉

Roxttc · 07/06/2024 10:07

Just for info - I made a referral to my midwife (I’m southwest) on 3rd June and just had a call for my appointment on 9th July so I’ll be 9.5 weeks

Pattisonmummy · 07/06/2024 10:11

Hello, just wanted to jump in and see how we all are feeling, I'm currently 5 weeks (due 10th feb) no sickness yet bit of cramps. Is all this normal :) I'm based up north Lancashire way.

Thecomfortador · 07/06/2024 10:58

I think sickness massively varies, I've felt worse this time around although today isn't so bad. I've only ever been sick once, in my first pregnancy, whereas others end up in hospital with hyperemesis. It's the tiredness and bad temper that is affecting me at the moment.

On the topic of exercise again, I went up Snowdon early in my second pregnancy which my mum was not at all happy about. Ds2 still has the teddy I bought at the top for him haha.

I’m 5 weeks and not had any sickness yet just cramps, twinges and gassy!

Still no sickness. Just sore boobs, a bit gassy (hiccups, mild heartburn now and then) and feeling very tired. But I feel amazingly lucky as I know some of you on here have been suffering quite a lot 😕

fsr111 · 07/06/2024 11:35

@Thecomfortador I am feeling the rage, and my DD who is 4 is definitely not helping it! She is being particularly challenging though, I'm sure it's not just me! Haha!

fsr111 · 07/06/2024 11:36

@Pattisonmummy - forgot to add - I'm due 10 February too. No symptoms here either just occasional cramps.
