Thanks @Oatmilktea @wannabe123 and @SapphireSeptember!!

I will ask midwife on Thursday and let you know but what you’ve said makes sense!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 13/07/2024 17:16

@MixedCouple2 - my DH isn’t too bad luckily, he used to do most of the cooking but since our son was born he’s done bedtime and bathtime and I’ve cooked so he can have some time with him after work. At the moment though I’m shattered by the time he gets home so he’s doing everything bless him

Jess725 · 13/07/2024 18:34

@Bali200 yes im so with you! 🤭
How was your sweep? Glad to hear it made steps in the right direction. I went to my last appointment but instead of sweep got sent to triage so I’m a bit in limbo

Zero progress other than cramping for quite a few days now. If they could ramp up please ☺️

Bali200 · 14/07/2024 06:47

@Jess725 I actually found the sweep super painful 😟 she was very confident that it was successful and would work so I found it quite disheartening that it hasn’t worked. She’s booked me in for another tomorrow morning and then for induction on Saturday if still no bubs but I really want to avoid induction if possible!

The cramping is a good sign though, I’ve not had a single cramp 😆 have you found out/decided on your next steps yet?

AnonymousXXIX · 14/07/2024 08:44

I'm considering acupuncture? Does anyone have any experience with that?

Jess725 · 14/07/2024 10:59

@Bali200
Sorry it was painful for you. Maybe you can decline tmrws, if you wanted. I hope it goes well either way and it puts you on the right track 🫶🫶 I kind of wish i could have had one!

I have another scan tmrw for the non growing bump and less frequent movement (i truly believe it’s because baby has descended) and then induction booked on Tuesday at 41+1. I feel it’s too soon but then again what is another extra few days.. I’ll have to see how the results are tmrw. I think Saturday sounds perfect for you 🤞

I tried the miles circuit last night, what else can we do to avoid induction 🤭

anymore babies here yet lovely ladies ❤️ hope you’re all good xxx

You could try Accupressure at home yourself or get partner to help?
Not had it done personally. But family who have said it worked for them.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 13/07/2024 17:16

Thata great my DS will only go bathe with DH a couple nights a week. Otherwise I have to do all of the routine he protests so much. DH then cleans up and geta on with a few tasks.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 14/07/2024 19:39

@MixedCouple2 - it is handy. In our old house they used to bathe together but DS has decided he doesn’t like to since we moved so it’s less efficient than it was for them. There’s quite a lot of work to do on our new house though so I suspect once I’m recovered PP that baths and dinner will be my responsibility for a bit while husband gets some jobs done

SapphireSeptember · 14/07/2024 22:22

No baby here, but he's been really active most of the day. 😁

@HereAtlonglast You're welcome! I hope you can find the answer. 😊

@Roxystar23 At least it's not just me! I've got two lots of packing to do, my hospital bag and stuff for my friend's house afterwards. I did most of it last night, just need to sort my clothes out now. I'm taking disposable knickers with me, saves on washing!

MixedCouple2 · 15/07/2024 04:08

@Morningcoffeeaddict awww bless. Well slow and atewsy with things PP and with house things to. Non essential can wait.

I am 39 w today and I was really struggling with my walk yesterday it was just so uncomfortable. I had a lot of round ligament pain and just general discomfort my normal pace turned into a slow waddle. It was only 1 mile. I was shattered when I got home and had to lay down with DS at his nap time and just relax and not do anything. Right now I am ober being oregmant but it the same time PP is going to be exhausting even more!

AnonymousXXIX · 15/07/2024 07:06

@MixedCouple2 I had the opposite issue yesterday! Easily completed a 5 mile walk, with elevation. I was really hoping it might be getting harder (due to baby getting into the right position) - because it def did, like you described, last pregnancy! - or maybe start something, but nope, nothing. Had a curry for good measure afterwards. Zero effect.

Busyhedgehog · 15/07/2024 07:28

Still no baby here, either. 39+2 today. I keep hopping into the pool because it's easier than walking around. Got one of those big gymnastics balls off my mum (she's a physiotherapist) to hopefully bounce the baby out. 😁
We'll see. My next routine OB/GYN appointment is later this week. I'd like an induction booked but she might not go for that.

Honeymint · 15/07/2024 07:45

39 weeks tomorrow and no sign here either! (But my first was born at 41+1 so I’m not optimistic he’ll make an appearance for a while yet!)
Last time I was walking miles every day by the end, up and down hill, ‘curb-walking’, everything. This time I can barely manage a 10 minute walk without terrible pelvic girdle pain for hours afterwards 😭

Is anybody else really struggling to sleep at the moment? It’s been getting gradually worse and now I only manage to sleep in 40 minute chunks between 12-6, it’s driving me crazy!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 15/07/2024 08:03

No baby here either - still in the bathroom what feels like every five minutes and he’s definitely dropped as the pressure in my pelvis is horrible and I saw some friends yesterday that I haven’t seen in a few weeks and they seem to think I “look smaller” which I’m assuming is because bump has dropped.

also 39 weeks tomorrow and in for my pre-op for my section today so nearly there one way or another.

SapphireSeptember · 15/07/2024 08:04

@Honeymint Nope, me too! Sleeping is so difficult. I've actually been awake all night doing stuff trying to tire myself out. A load of my clean washing ended up all over the floor Saturday night/Sunday morning, so I've been making use of the peace and quiet overnight to re-wash it. I actually wondered if there'd been a mini earthquake, to destabilise a pile that had been fine. It was in shopping bags (nice colourful ones from Sainsbury's,) but that didn't save it! 😱 Extra annoying was that one lot was brand new baby clothes from my baby shower.
Didn't have the pregnancy squits yesterday, today they're back with a vengeance..😰

Cattattack · 15/07/2024 08:46

Just a piece of advice I was given (today is my EDD - but no sign of it coming today and that’s totally okay!) there is a great book by Sara Wickham called “In your own time” - it shares information about induction with clear studies and research. Some babies just aren’t ready to arrive at the same time as others! Might be worth reading to help you decide if an induction at 42 weeks is what you actually want. 🙂

AnonymousXXIX · 15/07/2024 09:00

@Cattattack I read all the time 'your baby will come when your baby is ready' - but considering baby's size, I am pretty sure baby is ready! It's my body that isn't 😅

Cattattack · 15/07/2024 09:08

@AnonymousXXIX but isn’t it the baby that releases the protein and starts the contractions process? That’s as I understood it!

Busyhedgehog · 15/07/2024 10:35

@Cattattack No, an induction at 42 weeks sounds horrible...I'd have liked an induction last week...or this week...I'll check with my doctor whether we can schedule it for 40+1 or 40+2 at least. Utterly fed up by now...and I have no issues sleeping, no pain, no signs of this child wanting out at all. It was the same last time and it drove me crazy then. I'm a "planner" and I need to know what's happening when. Last time, DS eventually arrived at Christmas Eve. We had family fly over the same day from abroad. I was luckily discharged 12 hours after the birth. This time DS is on summer break and my parents will possibly be away on holiday by the time the baby arrives. DH doesn't drive and we are 20 minutes from the hospital. I'll be discharged after 3 or 4 days with this one.

Bali200 · 15/07/2024 21:02

How did you get on with your growth scan today @Jess725? Are you being induced tomorrow? I had my second sweep this morning and had a bloody show this afternoon so I’m hoping it’s going to be more successful than last week’s 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

AnonymousXXIX · 16/07/2024 11:07

Hahahaha I was wrong, the 5 mile walk worked after all. Healthy baby born within 20 mins of arriving at hospital 🤣👍

SapphireSeptember · 16/07/2024 11:36

@AnonymousXXIX Not bad, congratulations! 😁
I couldn't walk five miles at the moment, the hospital is less than 20 minutes walk from my house and I'm thinking about getting a taxi to my serial growth scan today because I can't face walking up there. 😭

wannabe123 · 16/07/2024 11:52

Congratulations @AnonymousXXIX

Morningcoffeeaddict · 16/07/2024 14:09
