@MrsM89 it's definitely more worrying if you catch it between I think 9 and 20 weeks but I don't know what the risk level is, if any, after that. Sorry your little one is unwell!

Xur · 05/06/2024 22:55

Iโ€™m having opposite thoughts about the clothing situation. We are going to honeymoon (flying tonight) and my now chubby ass will for sure need to do some self acceptance to comfortably lay in a bikini!
@longingtobe23
Yikes, stressful! I often see people drive on public roads like they have 9 lives. And not learners even.

Emmaev · 05/06/2024 21:13

I had a heart palpitation a few weeks ago very scary and sudden when they do happen but pass quickly. I did read it was all the increased blood in your system.

@Honeyandsunshine1 Iโ€™m 27+2 , only for the last week have I had a very active baby. And then today she must have turned into my pelvis again as Iโ€™m only feeling little flutters. I think baby is still so small they have loads of places to hide. My first born though was never a very active baby, sheโ€™s still super chill now so I feel thatโ€™s just her personality. I had to really shake my belly to get her to move.

Thank you for the reassurance! ๐Ÿฉท I feel like this one might be like your first. Every scan sheโ€™s been mega โ€œcooperativeโ€ and chill. And even now, just barely makes herself known. Hopefully as she gets bigger, sheโ€™ll make me worry less ๐Ÿคฃ

SC126 · 06/06/2024 06:09

@MrsM89 the risks are less after 20 weeks but I would still contact your midwife. My 5 year old son had it a couple weeks ago. My midwife arranged to visit me to take bloods the same day I notified her. They checked whether I had previously had it and therefore be immune. Which I had thankfully.

MrsM89 · 06/06/2024 07:01

@malimoon thank you.
@SC126 thank you. I have my gtt today so don't know if it's wise to mention it there xx

WinsandSam · 06/06/2024 08:15

Has anyone else noticed their body temperature has ramped up? I'm almost 25 weeks and feel constantly sweaty!! Everyone at work moaning it's cold and I feel like I'm in a sauna ๐Ÿฅต sleeping in pants and wake up dripping

Emmaev · 06/06/2024 09:38

Iโ€™ve got my growth scan on the 11th and Iโ€™m just so anxious , I canโ€™t think of anything else. I had my last day of work yesterday before 20 days of annual leave and I kept thinking maybe I wonโ€™t come back and the growth scan will show sheโ€™s not growing like my first. I know Iโ€™m working myself up, maybe for nothing. But I canโ€™t shake the thought that my placenta is pants like before

MrsM89 · 06/06/2024 10:03

Gtt failed. They couldn't get my bloods despite 4 attempts. and then worried they wouldn't get them later after the test so sent me to blood clinic to just take 1 different test instead and no need to wait.. I was quite looking forward to my 2 hours sitting relaxing. Haha. X

longingtobe23 · 06/06/2024 13:11

@MrsM89 oh wow I had multiple attempts too and 20 mins later they had success
same for the second round ๐Ÿซฃ but got there in the end! Chair was so uncomfy but did a lot of reading and then โ€ฆ a very letโ€™s say โ€œanimatedโ€ pregnant woman was there efffin and jefffing and I couldnโ€™t wait to leave ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Home now and stuffed up on snacks โ€ฆ will await results

malimoon · 06/06/2024 17:10

My diabetes test (scheduled in a couple of weeks) just got cancelled because of big cyber hack in the south London NHS, the message said they're cancelling all non urgent phlebotomy! I have another midwife appt between now and then so will see what she recommends

Bakerbean · 06/06/2024 17:31

Hello everyone! Long, long time no speak - I really, really hope everyone is doing well. Iโ€™ve missed this group loads! I got completely sidetracked with work & went through a phase (I say went through, Iโ€™m still kind of in it) of feeling totally overwhelmed with the pregnancy and life/work, and just needed to step back for a while. Iโ€™m 27+2 today, which seems CRAZY!

How are you all?! If you can give me a brief update on where youโ€™re at and any major progressions, I would really love to read and catch up. Biggest thing for me is that Iโ€™ve just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, so thatโ€™s quite a lot to process, but, Iโ€™m trying not to let it get me down. We have a management plan in place so Iโ€™m going to do my very best to keep it under control & hope for the best. Is anyone else in the same boat?

MudandMoet · 06/06/2024 18:26

Just wondered if anyone else is booked on #thebirthuprising free hypnobirthing introduction session at 7:30 pm?

I just fancy a taster of what it's all about before I book anything else myself so giving it a go. Is this what you did the other day @Lillers ?

Lillers · 06/06/2024 18:35

@MudandMoet I assume it is the same one! I hope you enjoy it - I found it so fascinating and really came out of it being excited about the birth ๐Ÿ˜‚

californiacooper · 06/06/2024 18:36

Hi guys.... long time no see....
I've been totally absent from MN as it wasn't helping me on the m/c threads, but I thought I'd just come on and say hi and hopefully see some nice big bump pics.
I am not telling anyone I know in real life but I just got this today.... not even vaguely excited or worried or anything at the moment, just think I'll do another one in a week to see if it's any darker.
Hope you guys are all well and getting ready!!
Love you all โค๏ธ

@MudandMoet I did that one last week too and really enjoyed it!

Xur · 06/06/2024 19:05

Oh wow @californiacooper !! I hope this bean sticks!!!! ๐Ÿ’œ
This chat is round now, indeed!

I did some stuff today I wasnโ€™t supposed to do, I had a warm bath and very typical to me got a light nose bleed after. Iโ€™ve been quite consistent with the nosebleeds, normally I get them in the morning.
I only remembered it is not advised to have baths when pregnant when I was already in it. So, thatโ€™s happened. My bumper was preventing me from getting up from the bath myself, so husband helped me up.
Anyway I hope a one off isnโ€™t going to cause any issues.
Anyway when I remembered about it I figured I will not submerge myself and left my legs out on the sides of the bath. Ended up not being hot or sweating as it wasnโ€™t that hot and my arms and legs were out until I mixed it with more cold water to have the bath cooler.
We do not have a tub in our house so a bath is a luxury (shower only). Donโ€™t remember the last time apart from today when had an actual bath.
As Iโ€™m typing this now weโ€™ve swapped with husband heโ€™s laying in it and sipping on some bubbles we got on the house from the hotel (being newlyweds and all).

Oh shit! This explains why a lot of the local GPs have been cancelling blood tests with no further info or dates given. I live in SW London and saw a lot of confused posts on the local Facebook group. My hospital is SW London and have a GTT test in a week so I wonder if thatโ€™ll get cancelled tooโ€ฆ ๐Ÿค”

I was umming and ahhing over ordering a waffle on Uber eats tonight but I might just go ahead ๐Ÿคฃ

Yeah I hopped onto their first one a little while ago and have been following them since. I loved it. Hope you enjoy!

They love a good f word, if thatโ€™s your bag. ๐Ÿคฃ

Welcome back! How are you feeling now? ๐Ÿฉท Iโ€™m 27+ something too, I think 27+5, although I feel about 37 weeks ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Whats happening with the GD, is it diet controlled at the moment? I havenโ€™t had my test yet but Iโ€™m not holding out hope that Iโ€™ve not dodged it this time though. For what itโ€™s worth, Iโ€™ve read loads of positive stories about GD, and that the births went smoothly and the babies were grand! So if you ever feel down or worried, look up some positive stories to give you a boost. Do you know what youโ€™re having? ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฉท and have you settled on names? Xx

@xur try not to worry. Baths are absolutely fine in pregnancy. I have a bath at least once a week. Its just not advised to have the bath too hot! I use a baby bath thermometer but as long as you ain't sweating the temp is fine. Its just because we are more susceptible to overheating and then fainting.

Weโ€™ve just got back from holiday and as much as I LOVE a holiday (get me in the sun and let me sweat!) Iโ€™m so happy to be home lol. Holidays are just not the same when youโ€™re pregnant and have a toddler.

This week Iโ€™ve realised I cannot do hills. Not even a proper steep hill, but walking up it from the beach (I know, poor me) was a struggle. My heart was beating out my chest, I had to stop multiple times or I thought Iโ€™d pass out, every time! So thatโ€™s a new symptom for me at 26 weeks. I can do a full reformer Pilates session, but give me a hill and Iโ€™ll fail!

Xur · 06/06/2024 20:28

Thanks ladies for the reassurance ๐Ÿฅฐ

@HRP1990 we planned for a pregnant holiday. With private sunlounge and pool. In case I donโ€™t feel like being around people.
where weโ€™ve come today was +40 and to be honest luckily at the hottest time of the day we had shade and we both literally fell asleep on the sunloungers, shamelessly. Not sure how a toddler would potentially fit into this picture later on, unless we get him to nap with us ๐Ÿคฃ
falling a sleep by a pool with a toddler sounds insane regardless.

The holidays definitely will need to be tailored. There are a lot of resorts designed for this though. Facilitating both adult and child entertainment. Just need to invest the time and money in finding them.

HRP1990 · 06/06/2024 20:34

@Xur that sounds like heaven, where are you? Yep there is no falling asleep by the pool ๐Ÿ˜‚ you literally nap when they nap lol!

Iโ€™m quite a hotel snob, so it takes a lot of searching to find the type of holiday weโ€™d usually go on, with a little one in tow, but they are out there! Sadly she isnโ€™t old enough for kids club yet, but when she is, sheโ€™ll be going ๐Ÿ˜‚
