@Ritagoestohollywood yes but slower. I try and walk 6-7 times a week for 20-30 mins. Mainly for my mind! I still go to my normal Pilates class once a week but it's harder.. and have joined pregnancy Pilates which is less intense. I don't have children so can't imagine doing this if I had a child at home.
There's no way I could do any cardio! I can't walk up hill without dying ๐Ÿ˜‚

@TripleESept24 I had my whooping cough vaccine at around 18 weeks through my gp surgery.

MudandMoet · 04/06/2024 20:44

@TripleESept24 I had the whooping cough vaccine a few weeks ago and the flu vaccine a few weeks before that.

Is when they start measuring baby when they start telling you centile line they're on. I think we were on the 33rd (?)

I take the dog out twice a day everyday but don't excerise other than that, only short walks as he's very old. Fairly active in general (I clean, a lot, so that's my daily work out) I do get really out of breath quickly these days so have steadied off.

rupertbear91 · 04/06/2024 20:56

@TripleESept24 I'm having the whooping cough vaccine on Thursday at my gp I booked it in when I was 16 weeks it's taken them this long to get it in!

My exercise varies hugely I have a horse and 3 dogs to look after so I do a base line of 5000 steps each day with them but some days I can't manage anything else other days I make it to 10000 if I join in the evening walk too but I am really struggling energy wise. I used to do reformer Pilates before I got pregnant but I'm too exhausted to commit to a class regularly at the minute so I think it's just going to be as much walking as I can manage till baby is born now

It's this..... I'm not sure what you mean 33? I was measuring 24 which is where the little dot is and slightly below the green average line ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

@TripleESept24 I'm not 100% sure either tbh. I have this on my notes but this was from 8 weeks ago. I'll ask next week what these centile line things are and which is average or not.

HRP1990 · 05/06/2024 04:03

@TripleESept24 @MudandMoet the centile is the average. So out of 100 babies your baby is measuring on the 33rd centile, so for that amount of weeks there are 33 babies measuring โ€œsmallerโ€ and 67 measuring โ€œlargerโ€

Iโ€™ve attached mine - so at 25 weeks Iโ€™m measuring nearer to the 90th centile. Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s all guess work though, I never really paid attention until they were born and you start tracking their weight/height measurements etc!

Lillers · 05/06/2024 06:06

Mine said it was on the 80th percentile when I had my 20 week scan. I was scared that meant I was carrying a giant baby, but when I looked into it they said they only consider it a concern if itโ€™s below the 5th or above the 95th percentile.

TripleESept24 · 05/06/2024 07:11

I feel really stupid but I just don't get it ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Well my friend gave birth on Sunday..... She had a scan at 40 weeks and was induced (she's over 40) and they predicted the baby would be 8 pounds 14.....

He was 7 pounds 1.5 !!

So I don't trust it at all!

Also my measurement from 25weeks is just from my midwife taking a tape measure to my belly lol so I donโ€™t trust the accuracy either!

longingtobe23 · 05/06/2024 09:23

@TripleESept24 they told me my first would be 7-8lb
he was 9lb9.5oz haha so nope not a trust in the land theyโ€™re accurate
as long as they follow a similar trend throughout then comfortably can chill theyโ€™re doing the right thing ๐Ÿฅณ

fleur89 · 05/06/2024 09:35

Growth scans are more accurate from 28 weeks, it's harder to accurately measure smaller babies as a few mm throws things out a lot.

I've noticed nhs scan equipment is terribly poor compared to what is used privately. It looks like a fuzzy 1960s tv screen, this is my first pregnancy where I've tapped into nhs care and I've been shocked by both the quality of care and the state of the equipment used. My scan readings have been all over the place at the nhs, ranging from 5th to 90th percentile for various body parts. This really scared me and made me think something was wrong with my baby. The lady who scanned me didn't even know what my high risk condition was (I had to explain!) and my nhs records had forgotten I have a baby girl and suffered from recurrent miscarriages.

For many reasons I am seeking private care throughout and will deliver privately. All of my private scans (have had 8 this pregnancy so far as high risk) have shown my baby measuring 40-55th percentile across body parts and around 50th overall. Far more reassuring. The equipment used is far more accurate and clear, and I see a senior consultant professor at every appointment.

My daughter was born in HK under the private system there. They predicted 7lbs 7oz and she was born 7lbs 7oz. Their equipment was great, very clear.

Anyone else feeling really dizzy at the minute? It's so disconcerting when I'm out on my own. Had my bloods done and blood pressure checked last week and was all fine according to my midwife

tryingfortwo2 · 05/06/2024 14:58

@TripleESept24 I had to have growth scans every two weeks with my first from 28 weeks as she was โ€œmeasuring very smallโ€. She measured โ€œtinyโ€ on every single scan and they were pushing for early induction, so I had a consultant appointment at 36 weeks to discuss.

She proceeded to tell me that as long as growth was continuing to totally ignore the actual size, because when growth is being monitored (along with average weights of babies) they take the motherโ€™s height and BMI into account when calculating centiles, so because Iโ€™m tall at 5ft10 my baby charted small.. but if I was 5ft5 she wouldโ€™ve charted average.. it makes no sense!

And after all her โ€œtinyโ€ scans (7 in total) she came out at 40+2 weighing 7lbs 5.8oz ๐Ÿ˜‚

Khanga27 · 05/06/2024 15:56

Has anyone else had digestive changes/loose stools? Iโ€™m 27+6 now, and Iโ€™ve had this for a few days now. No sickness or other symptoms, just this, so donโ€™t want to rush to doctors in case itโ€™s just a normal shift in symptoms from hormones/organs squishing or something?!

Iโ€™m not so much dizzy, as feeling like a fluttery heart feeling quite often? Itโ€™s very light, but I will mention it at my next appointment because my sister had a heart condition diagnosed after they picked up some issues during her labour, and now she has a pacemaker. So while Iโ€™m pretty sure itโ€™s nothing, I definitely want it on the radar!

rupertbear91 · 05/06/2024 17:46

@Lillers gosh that sounds worrying!

I ended up being checked today as my eyes are blurry and I keep getting numb arms too. They have taken some blood to test for gestational diabetes but as it wasn't fasting it will just be an indicator more than conclusive.

Oh, Iโ€™ve been feeling a bit like this. I canโ€™t work out if itโ€™s baby pushing up into my chest area because Iโ€™ll randomly feel some kind of relief after a while, or, if I have low iron or something because google did tell me thatโ€™s a side effect. I bought ferrous sulphate to take so will see if that makes a difference before I see the midwife next week.

on another note, does anyone have a fairly โ€œinactiveโ€ baby? Iโ€™m seeing everyone say how their babies are kicking them to death and itโ€™s constant, but mine really isnโ€™t like that. I feel lots of like โ€œshiversโ€ which I donโ€™t know if thatโ€™s her or my body just spasming, but yeah she doesnโ€™t really kick me out like I see others saying. Iโ€™m nearly 28 weeks so I feel like I should be feeling more than I am ๐Ÿค”

WinsandSam · 05/06/2024 19:56

@Lillers I had palpitations for weeks and they could last on and off throughout the day! Proper heart flutters. Luckily it's passed now but palpitations are very common

Lillers · 05/06/2024 20:29

Does anyone else really like just being naked at the moment? Iโ€™ve never been a โ€œnaked round the houseโ€ person, but I just feel so much more comfortable with nothing on - no wastebands, no bra straps, no random clingy bitsโ€ฆ Whenever I get changed, I now spend as long as I can doing things without clothes before I have to put the next lot on ๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™ve been struggling with this the last few weeks! Got checked by my midwife who told me my blood pressure has been dropping, got tests done but nothing worrying came back. havenโ€™t really been given anything to help it - just told to take it easy, stay hydrated and not stress ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ easier said than done!

Emmaev · 05/06/2024 21:13

I had a heart palpitation a few weeks ago very scary and sudden when they do happen but pass quickly. I did read it was all the increased blood in your system.

@Honeyandsunshine1 Iโ€™m 27+2 , only for the last week have I had a very active baby. And then today she must have turned into my pelvis again as Iโ€™m only feeling little flutters. I think baby is still so small they have loads of places to hide. My first born though was never a very active baby, sheโ€™s still super chill now so I feel thatโ€™s just her personality. I had to really shake my belly to get her to move.

Emmaev · 05/06/2024 21:15

@Lillers yes to being naked. I absolutely hate clothes at the moment, always feel something is digging into me. I just wear pants to bed and hate my duvet on me. Feels like Iโ€™m boiling from the inside out. August heavily pregnant is gonna be fun!

Had a near miss in the car today - learner pulled out on me didnโ€™t even check the right side ๐Ÿ˜ฃ
I had to slam on and turn into opposite in coming traffic.
the car does stop itself so it was a very hard slam and I cried all the way home
went to hospital to check baby out and thankfully all seems fine - but my BP was 185/90 when I got there ๐Ÿซฃ

off work for the rest of the week anyway with tests but so thankful the hospital were kind and super quick at checking baby was okay!

Ahhh bless you! Take it easy for the rest of the week! Glad baby is ok

I have a friend who's girlfriend went into early labour last year because of a car accident and the belt cutting right into her belly! X

MrsM89 · 05/06/2024 22:13

Am I right in thinking slapped cheek isn't so much of a worry at this stage? My 8 year old has it after a few cases in class 2 weeks ago. Xx
