Speak of the devil, got a call from the pushchair company they are delivering it tomorrow ๐Ÿคฃ I jinxed that didnโ€™t I

RosiePH · 22/05/2024 14:23

Thanks @Decaffe and @rupertbear91 - thatโ€™s good to know! Heโ€™s got my MATB1 form to take in so Iโ€™ll ask him to have a chat about what they want the process to be for the day of the section (and also for my pre-op, which will be probably be the Friday before and I wonโ€™t be able to drive myself there by that point!). I guess itโ€™s the same for false alarms with a natural labour too!

Lillers · 22/05/2024 18:21

@RosiePH At my school weโ€™re very used to the expectant dads just disappearing one day because the babyโ€™s coming! They usually provide HR with the expected date, and then protocols are put in place for them to follow depending on their circumstances. I donโ€™t know what your husbandโ€™s school is like but ours is also very good at allowing discretionary leave in the run up if there is a need (eg one colleague of mine was off from the Monday because his wife was admitted to hospital, but his paternity leave didnโ€™t start until the Wednesday when the baby arrived). I donโ€™t know if it was paid or not but I guess these are all things he can ask.

Decaffe · 22/05/2024 18:31

Ooh @RosiePH I didnโ€™t even consider the pre-op. Assuming thatโ€™ll be on a weekday Iโ€™d like to think DHโ€™s school would give him the time off to drive me, as long as he โ€˜makes the time upโ€™ ๐Ÿง he is in credit by days and days as you can well imagine!

HRP1990 · 22/05/2024 20:20

Is anyone else bloody shattered? I know itโ€™s kind of a given with being pregnant lol. The past few weeks I feel like Iโ€™ve had the second trimester energy everyone talks about, however the past couple of days Iโ€™ve been floored. I napped for 1.5 hours today ๐Ÿฅฑ

rupertbear91 · 22/05/2024 21:06

@HRP1990 yep totally dead these last few days. Dragged myself to choir rehersal last night only to be told by countless people how exhausted I look ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ spent the morning of my day off in bed today. Still knackered and really short of breath today like I can't breath in deeply it's a really disconcerting feeling

Emmaev · 22/05/2024 21:09

Where are everyoneโ€™s baby kicks at the moment?

Im 25+2 and baby girl has been kicking really low. Almost feels like sheโ€™s gonna kick right through my cervix.

SC126 · 22/05/2024 21:16

@HRP1990 im knackered. Not sleeping great and after work all day I'm ready for bed.

@Emmaev I'm 24 weeks but my kicks are all over the place. One day he's kicking my cervix (ouch) and next day I feel his feet really high up! Sometimes at the sides too. Its like he's doing somersaults ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿคฃ

HRP1990 · 22/05/2024 21:31

@rupertbear91 how charming lol!

@SC126 yes same! Have you got a pregnancy pillow? I always wake up to turn over but itโ€™s helped with getting comfy.

@Emmaev My kicks are everywhere tonight. At the moment, Iโ€™m being kicked on both sides at the same time!? I think Iโ€™m glad thereโ€™s a placenta in the way or Iโ€™d be bruised ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿฅน

RosiePH · 22/05/2024 21:56

@lillers thatโ€™s good to know! his school have so far been very supportive and given him the scan appointments paid.

@Decaffe they certainly deserve a lot of time back! Getting it is another question entirelyโ€ฆ!

Lillers · 23/05/2024 06:17

@Emmaev Iโ€™m 22 weeks and my kicks are really low too! My app said that at this stage the womb has risen above the belly button, but Iโ€™m like, Iโ€™m pretty sure itโ€™s down between my knees ๐Ÿ˜‚

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 23/05/2024 06:22

@Emmaev Really low for me too, 22+5. Sometimes she ventures out a little and I get kicks / arm hits near my hip bones - I've had a few times where I've felt them both sides at the same time! At the 20 week scan she was all over - at one point laid sideways - another point she was head down, but practically bent in half and her feet were by her head ๐Ÿ˜‚ I was expecting that she'd be stood up in there breech with how low I've had the kicks!

Xur · 23/05/2024 06:48

@Emmaev I am 25W and mine are still below belly. However, I do feel kicks on sides.

@HRP1990 I was very tired last week Thursday and Friday. Even left work early on Friday.

Ordered some more bits and bobs last night, we have a baby bath, muslins, swaddle blankets, changing mat and a baby monitor on the way now.

what I still need is a baby nest/sleep pod, changing bag for the pushchair (friend suggested the Tiba&Marl holdall so I will probably purchase that) and probably something else that I donโ€™t know I need yet.

Ritagoestohollywood · 23/05/2024 07:02

Anybody else on here expecting their third baby? X x

HRP1990 · 23/05/2024 07:05

@Xur we have the Tiba & Marl nappy organiser I think itโ€™s called? Itโ€™s fairly small but fits loads in and straps onto the handles of the buggy. I like it because itโ€™s so easy to reach into, vs stopping and pulling out a larger bag from underneath! We do also have the Tiba and Marl rucksack but tend to use that if weโ€™re out all day and need to pack alot of things. Both good purchases and I still use them now with my 2 year old!

WinsandSam · 23/05/2024 07:24

@HRP1990 yes the tiredness really gets you! I have days of feeling energetic and then bang ๐Ÿ’ฅ I'm like a zombie for days. I'm sleeping pretty poorly as can't get comfy and need about 4 wee's a night

@Emmaev I've noticed the last week that the kicks are moving down. Baby has always been transverse so kicks have been at hips really. Now I'm noticing it on my bladder, a sharp shooting and then need a wee. Happens a few times then it's gone, I don't actually need the loo. So they're definitely moving and wonder if it's because she's moved

FuppinNora · 23/05/2024 07:48

Yes tiredness is back - I'm constantly waking up between 1 and 4am and pretty much fully awake for a few hours. The heartburn is killing me, I didn't have this on my 1st at all. No matter what I eat I'm on rennies. I've cut down portion size and makes no difference. I suppose if that's all I have then great but a few times it has actually made me throw up the acid has been so bad. I'm also getting up during the night for rennies. I have GP appointment tomorrow so will ask can I get anything stronger.

On the kicks side of things I'm nearly at 25 weeks and it is only now that the kicks have moved up in the stomach area. Before that it was always below the belly button.
Anyone with anterior placenta do not worry kicks are coming your way!!! This week my stomach is moving and the kicks have gotten a lot stronger from all angles.

I'm also getting pubic bone pain quite a bit I can only describe it as a stiffness when I walk like as if two bones are rubbing off each other.

MrsM89 · 23/05/2024 07:49

@Ritagoestohollywood i am expecting my 3rd. Have an 8 and 4 year old. X

MrsM89 · 23/05/2024 07:50

Kicks for me the other day were much higher but seems to have moved lower again now. Wish we could see what they were doing in there. Xx

Congratulations!! And that is the same as me!!! 8 (March) 4 in September and due 21st September with number 3

are you 1989 born aswell? So am I lol

Emmaev · 23/05/2024 08:29

I do wonder when baby properly moves up in the belly? Because it feels like she just loves to hide in my pelvis. I would have thought being 1.5lbs by now she might make herself more known, but seems quite content in her favourite corner.

Iโ€™ve got my 25 week midwife appointment this morning and Iโ€™m still amazed how fast but slow time is going. When my midwife said at my 16 week appointment sheโ€™d see me then I thought thatโ€™s ages away. But here we are! Less than 15 weeks to go

TripleESept24 · 23/05/2024 09:14

@Emmaev I am 24 weeks tomorrow and my kicks are all over the place! She does do some low ones but this morning I've been getting above the belly button and she goes from side to side!

Good luck with your 25 week midwife appointment let us know how it goes, I have mine on the 4th when I will be 25+4

When is our next one after 25 weeks anyone know?? I need to make sure I get my MatB1 as haven't got it yet!

Cat2022 · 23/05/2024 09:23

i think itโ€™s quite normal for them to be feet down at this point so that could be why you are feeling it mostly low down. Yesterday I had kicks up the top for the first time then a few hours later some right in the cervix so he mustโ€™ve been doing some gymnastics or something.

Cat2022 · 23/05/2024 09:25

I am starting to feel more excited now after getting over my initial fear and panic. 3 months till I finish work and will be in nesting mode. My little girl has started dressing her Dollies and putting nappies on them so maybe she is preparing too ๐Ÿ˜‚
