@RachSmile low blood pressure can be normal in pregnancy. Eat little and often and dont stand or sit up too quickly. Take your time moving about and dont lift things too heavy. Not much else you can do for it. Obviously if you start to feel faint then sit down to stop the risk of falling from height!

SC126 · 18/05/2024 17:03

Ordered my pram today! Its being delivered on my birthday in July. Best present ever ๐Ÿคฃ
Went with bugaboo fox 5 in forest green which is what I've wanted from the beginning. Didn't get a bundle because I already have a car seat and I find the other extras a tad pointless. However totally recommend mamas and papas if you live near a store. In the past I've purchased a previous travel system, nursery furniture set and 5 car seats and their customer service is just so good. They price matched my bugaboo so I got ยฃ111 off then because I spent ยฃ3 over ยฃ1k I will also receive ยฃ100 mamas and papas gift card which is further discount on the pram in my eyes.

Does anyone live near a primark that have seen this in stock?

Omg that's so cute!!! I'm gonna have a look next time I'm in ours in Nottingham

longingtobe23 · 18/05/2024 17:57

@SC126 well done!!! Love a new pram day thatโ€™s a lovely birthday present.

I have ordered the carpet for July! WhOO ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™ƒ and more clothes โ€ฆ. Oops
no car seat no furniture no stroller yet! But I have picked them allโ€ฆ

SC126 · 18/05/2024 18:09

@longingtobe23 oh dont stress. The only reason I have a car seat and furniture is due to having an older child. Our nursery is still a small storage room. I bought paint weeks ago but still not attempted it ๐Ÿคฃ

longingtobe23 · 18/05/2024 18:18

@SC126 I do have an 8 year old but gave it all away ๐Ÿ˜‚
canโ€™t say Iโ€™m mad about picking / choosing all new - our little one will also have the smaller office room once thatโ€™s cleared, so I have no where to put it all!

I do have a Snuz and Moses a bath and 2 changing mats in my living room at present ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ™ˆ

SpicyMoth · 18/05/2024 18:29

Apologies to change topics slightly, but does anyone know if Dylon is safe to use on baby clothes at all?
Or if not, if there's any that definitely are?

I have a LOT of plain white baby clothes I got second hand that I'd really like to spruce up a bit and to make future staining less obvious!

After some research, fibre reactive dyes are the best to use for that kind of thing supposedly, but then when I look for that specific type of dye (like Dylon supposedly is) online it doesn't actually say anywhere on the product page about whether it's fibre reactive or not, and obvs I don't want to take the risk and spoil a bunch of clothes if it's not going to be safe for a newborn!

Cat2022 · 18/05/2024 19:07

OH dismantled the spare bed and took it to the dump today and we moved the changing table into that room and the cot will follow once Iv had a chance to shampoo the carpet tomorrow. I have a week off work in a couple weeks with no plans so think Iโ€™m going to try and decorate babyโ€™s room then. Would quite like to do some panelling as itโ€™s currently plain white but not sure what colour to go with.

We havenโ€™t had to buy anything this time other than a couple bits of clothing so excited to do something thatโ€™s for baby.

malimoon · 18/05/2024 19:15

@SpicyMoth this is only based on previous clothes dyeing experience but if the clothes are made of cotton then the regular dylon dye you get in the shops and can run through the washing machine should be fine. I just googled and I'm pretty sure they are classed as fibre reactive but when I've been dyeing I've always thought about it by fabric content. Natural fibres you can use normal dylon. Only polyester etc you need something different.

I don't see why those clothes wouldn't be okay for baby. You might want to run them through the wash an extra time (I would probably do that anyway) but after that then it's just like any other coloured clothes you might buy from a shop. They're all dyed, ultimately.

HRP1990 · 18/05/2024 19:24

I bought a baby bath for ยฃ3 today on FBMP lol other than a few clothing purchases on Vinted, thatโ€™s all Iโ€™ve gathered so far!

Anyone else just feel like theyโ€™ve got a ton of mental notes stored in their head lol?

-Order paint/wallpaper
-Decide on double buggy or buggy board
-Sort through old baby clothes
-Think about potty training toddler ๐Ÿ™ˆ etc etc

SpicyMoth · 18/05/2024 19:25

Tysm for the advice@malimoon !
I think I'll test it out on a few and then leave some as they are as back ups just in case it does somehow turn out to be irritating to delicate newborn skin - Will deffo give them extra washes to make doubly sure there's no dye leak too!

I don't have much experience dying fabrics at all, so you've been a MASSIVE help, tysm again! <3

RosiePH · 18/05/2024 19:36

@RachSmile i had low blood pressure at my midwife appointments at 9 and 16 weeks. Around 16 weeks I was also feeling quite sick and faint sometimes. Still getting headaches but I think itโ€™s hopefully risen a bit now. I normally have the higher end of normal but it had dropped to 77/59.

I read that staying hydrated is important and that isotonic drinks can help so Iโ€™ve been having a few lucozade sports each week!

WinsandSam · 18/05/2024 19:48

@HRP1990 I'm exactly the same! I have a huge list on my phone... I've got a few baby grows/sleep suits and a snowsuit. That's it really ๐Ÿซฃ have moments of panic, then tell myself I have ages. The nursery is currently a dumping ground for the spare room whilst we decorate that

malimoon · 18/05/2024 19:57

@SpicyMoth no worries! The dylon pods are very easy and good but they will dye a TON of tiny baby things so if you have anything else like old t shirts or towels you might as well stick them in too, you'll be surprised how far they go!

Iโ€™m glad Iโ€™m not the only one! I do feel like Iโ€™ve got ages but an actually Iโ€™m 24 weeks next week.. which is 6 months, which means thereโ€™s only 3 months left!? Where has that time gone!? Perhaps I should order the wallpaper and get cracking on my mental to do list before I run out of time lol

FuppinNora · 18/05/2024 20:07

I've put the cot together today, of course I didn't ask for help and now I'm wrecked!

I had pelvic floor pain yesterday, it was awful, seems to have gotten better today though. I hope it isn't a regular thing!

I'm kind of in a bit of panic about how disorganised I am as I have a few occasions coming up and then holidays and then before you know it it'll be July!

longingtobe23 · 18/05/2024 20:32

I had a Chinese and my tummy has TRIPLED in size

serves me right for over doing it today then stuffing my face!
@FuppinNora can you grab a warm bath or a steamy shower?! I just washed scrubbed and put on cream but I think by 9pm Iโ€™ll be fast asleep ๐Ÿฅฒ hugging my very uncomfortable and hard bump!

FuppinNora · 18/05/2024 21:12

@longingtobe23 just after a Chinese too, belly full and ready for bed. My clevamama full body pillow is calling and I'm going into the spare room tonight with it and enjoying every minute of it ๐Ÿ˜sorry DH!

Xur · 18/05/2024 21:38

@Lillers I wouldnโ€™t bother saying, other people outside the family and closest circle do not matter that much in my opinion. It does not matter if she finds or doesnโ€™t find out the name. But if I were you I wouldnโ€™t bother telling, just because itโ€™s a name you picked aswell.

@RachSmile I got dizzy and blacked out in the shop today after being on foot for long, plus I was wearing heels. But I sat down for 1 minute and it passed. I normally donโ€™t get this. Iโ€™ve read itโ€™s pretty standard at this age of gestation. My blood pressure is naturally low, has been such all my life.

@rupertbear91 yeah this stuff sadly comes and goes for me aswell. I can be an angry person and then weeks can go by and be ok again and suddenly be easily triggered again. Itโ€™s probably the hormones.

I went out with my friend for some shopping today and bought some more clothes for the baby and I also bought a thingy for cleaning the nose. My friend said Iโ€™ll be using that quite early on, suggested I have it ready with the first stuff.

today was also the first time she left her 4 month old with me alone for 10 minutes in public. (While she went to the loo). I tried really hard to keep him from crying, peekaboos worked and also speaking my native tongue to him seemed to work well ๐Ÿ˜ probably because up until now he had only heard it from his mum ๐Ÿ˜‚ he looked shook when he heard me addressing him ๐Ÿคฃ I managed to endure these 10 minutes without him starting to cry, given his mum suddenly left his eyesight. I see it as a small achievement.

Hey, due 25th sep,
This is a scan at 20 weeks, theyโ€™re saying boy but Iโ€™ve been told by people it looks too thick and the line keeps going along but not as bright as the โ€œboy partsโ€ so could be cord.
hospital before this scan said itโ€™s a girl this is a re scan at a clinic that said itโ€™s a boy, but baby is laid belly down on a low lying placenta what would you all think I can update on Wednesday when hospital rescan me due to placenta
just going out my mind being told 2 different genders lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ x

Lillers · 18/05/2024 23:00

Oh my little baby has been kicking away so much today - DH has felt it mildly before but today he got the full effect! She was kicking him like mad which made him really happy.

Has anyone else got really aching painful ribs? Iโ€™ve got the bad back on and off, bad hips if I donโ€™t sleep right with my pregnancy pillow, and the occasional pain in my right knee if I stand for too long, but by far the worst pain I get is in my left side up in my ribs. All the other pains go when I shift position/get up and move around/add more cushions (usually stealing from DH, sorry not sorry), but once the rib pain rears its head of an evening thatโ€™s it, itโ€™s not going anywhere until I somehow fall asleep and wake up without it the next morning. Itโ€™s definitely the worst of all the pains for me yet itโ€™s one I never hear about.

malimoon · 18/05/2024 23:20

@Lillers The only pain I'm really getting is sciatic pain in my right butt cheek and down the back of my right thigh. It's quite persistent tho almost like a cramp feeling and I haven't really figured out how to alleviate it yet ๐Ÿ™

Lillers · 18/05/2024 23:31

@malimoon I really feel for you with that one - I had a bout of sciatica a few years ago and just remember every single movement feeling like an electric shock was going through my whole body. I was advised to just try to keep doing gentle movements - eventually it went away but itโ€™s such a horrible pain that I remember it vividly!

SC126 · 19/05/2024 06:19

@KitKatChunk96 id say thats definitely a boy! Though the angle of the scan is a bit weird. Both my boys have looked obvious like that on scan photos. I'm bias but boys are the best. My 5 year old son is very much a mummys boy and loves his cuddles.

rupertbear91 · 19/05/2024 07:37

@Lillers I have that but on my right side of my ribs and only in the evening I don't know how/why as baby is kicking round my belly button still but it takes my breath away sometimes it's so painful!
