@SpicyMoth @HRP1990 I'm also part of the short club at 5'3"x
Only 21 weeks but growing by the day!

A doctor at work pissed me off today, commented on how big I was... and "well that's going to be a big baby." Yeah, helpful comment and makes me feel great about myself. People are odd

SC126 · 15/05/2024 20:10

@BeautyAndTheBump1 i personally put one side between my legs and then the other side comes up and tucks under my bump. But you could also have your head on one side and then other side under bump and then stick a normal pillow between legs if you needed that support. I do toss and turn a lot but I just turn with my pillow ๐Ÿคฃ
I found my sisters proper pregnancy pillow she gave me too bulky and firm

Emmaev · 15/05/2024 20:37

@Waitinggame42023 i had my consultant appointment today and I asked her about the size at 20 weeks to 28 weeks to see if I can gauge if little babe is growing enough, and she told me that 20 weeks doesnโ€™t give a true indication of eventual size thatโ€™s why ladies have 28,32,36 & 40 week scans.

Im feeling mildly reassured talking to the consultant today and a normal bp of 120/80 and clear urine yay! However she has said Iโ€™m highly likely to either develop pre eclampsia again or gestational hypertension due to the severity of it with DD which I did expect. So just taking each day as it comes and today is a little success. Growth scan at 28 weeks will give a clearer indication!

Also in the large bump gang, 24 weeks and itโ€™s like a medicine ball in front of me

Xur · 15/05/2024 20:41

@WinsandSam my partner calls me a cute cow with milkers on a daily basis. In case that makes you feel any better

HRP1990 · 15/05/2024 20:56

Iโ€™ve definitely got a handful of milkers here too @Xur they rest on my belly ๐Ÿฅน

@SpicyMoth yes I certainty will enjoy that screenshot ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿฅฒ perhaps Iโ€™ll stick with my 2 year old Primark grannies!

longingtobe23 · 15/05/2024 21:08

I use a BBhugme to stop me rolling onto my front mostly from 14 weeks (embarrassingly early but wanted my damn monies worth)
Iโ€™ve used it on holiday
on the sofa
to Prop up my laptop
even hubby and kiddo have used it when they felt sick and wanted to lounge but not lie fully down๐Ÿ˜‚
Iโ€™m now 22 and when cover is in the wash I rush to make sure itโ€™s dry ๐Ÿ™ˆ

im still sleeping on front/side and I squish it right down and I canโ€™t complain itโ€™s been worth the money for me

Cow Appreciation Day GIF

@HRP1990 we should name the next thread on this due September series the โ€œmilkers clubโ€

Lillers · 15/05/2024 21:29

@Xur Haha one of my best friends had her baby a few weeks ago, and I sent her a text the other day asking how sheโ€™s getting on and she just replied with a gif of a cow being milked and that was it - absolutely understood exactly what she was saying ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

PoppingUp · 15/05/2024 21:54

I have a BBhug me too (second hand off vinted) and it's really comfy- it's full of beans so you can get it to exactly the shape you want it and is long enough to use between your feet and knees, under bump and arms. And lightweight enough that I can easily roll over with it in the night. Though when I get up to go to the loo l always come back to my boyfriend completely entangled in it and have to wrestle it off him while he makes complaining noises in his sleep. If they weren't so pricey we'd absolutely be getting a second one for him ๐Ÿ˜‚

Xur · 15/05/2024 22:43

I actually caught him kicking on camera tonight. Sent it to my friend and she said that those are very strong kicks for this age of gestation. Before kicking the top of my belly he was stomping on my bowels, I could literally feel my anus tremble.

WinsandSam · 16/05/2024 07:49

There are no milkers here! I'm still waiting for them to grow ๐Ÿ˜‚

Any advise of a book I can buy my other half. He has zero clue about babies, feeding, sleeping, development etc. would like to get him one that isn't a novel

Decaffe · 16/05/2024 07:52

22 weeks today here and reading incredulously of those who are feeling, seeing and recording kicks! I still canโ€™t feel a thing, having an anterior placenta is rubbish! I really feel like Iโ€™m missing out and itโ€™s ten looooong weeks until the next scan!

I'm getting this for my husband as part of his Father's Day gifts next month. The reviews are really good x

malimoon · 16/05/2024 08:19

@Decaffe I have an anterior placenta too! I'm 20+6 today and I have definitely not felt much movement (tho saw little guy on the scan yday so he's definitely fine). Early morning lying in bed I occasionally feel little twitches but it's like a couple of times a day if that and never enough to make me one hundred percent certain. Eventually I think they'll get big enough that we can't ignore them!

Emmaev · 16/05/2024 09:04

@Decaffe i also have an anterior placenta. Iโ€™ve only been able to see baby girl moving around in the last few days properly and Iโ€™m now 24+3 before this it was like a pulse very subtle

HRP1990 · 16/05/2024 10:26

@Decaffe another anterior placenta here too! Iโ€™d say only started feeling proper movement around 21 weeks, even now itโ€™s quite subtle, and usually around the outsides of my belly.. I guess because the placenta is cushioning at the front!

rupertbear91 · 16/05/2024 10:34

@WinsandSam I got my other half the expectant dad guides by Rob kemp there are two in the series one for pregnancy and one after birth they are really good and well written.

WinsandSam · 16/05/2024 11:05

Thanks @MudandMoet and @rupertbear91

I'll have a look online

Emmaev · 16/05/2024 12:17

Is anyone having a 28 week growth scan? Have you received a date for it?

malimoon · 16/05/2024 13:29

@Emmaev i am not but I have already got a date for my 36 week scan...

MrsM89 · 16/05/2024 14:43

@Emmaev we've no growth scans booked from consultant or midwife (tbh I saw my midwife at 16w and not got an aapt till 29w) but have another fetal medicine scan booked for 32w.

X

Cat2022 · 16/05/2024 15:03

@Emmaev i got a letter with my appointment shortly after my 12 week scan

cd24x · 16/05/2024 15:44

@Emmaev I've got growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks and got my letters through just after my referral for them at my 16 week consultant appt. I've also got consultant appts for straight after each scan.

MudandMoet · 16/05/2024 15:54

Same here as @cd24x for scans.

WinsandSam · 16/05/2024 17:57

@Emmaev I have a scan booked at 26 weeks and consultation. It was booked at 12 week scan. Haven't been told about any further ones
