Can’t get an appt with my preferred doctor until mid mad so in desperation I’ve booked acupuncture on Friday and will do a course. Has anyone had it?

CluelessInLondon · 22/04/2024 16:06

@mrssunshinexxx How annoying! I've definitely noticed more spots on my back than ever before in the last week - I'm 17+2 today so theoretically it should all be getting better! Thankfully not sore for me so just annoying more than anything else - I hope it clears up for you soon.

I meant mid May I don’t know how I wrote mid mad !

Strawbs92 · 22/04/2024 17:18

Is anyone else's badger app down?
It's stressing me out. It logged me out and now won't let me back in?! Even on forgot password it says my account doesn't exist!? 😭

Btowngirl · 22/04/2024 17:47

@Strawbs92 just checked and mine is the same. I googled it being down and there’s so many other posts from over the last 1-2 years so seems pretty unreliable helpfully!

Thanks so much, glad it's not just me. It's been stressing me out! I miss paper notes 😭

Joey2011 · 22/04/2024 20:42

I am so bunged up atm 😔 I bought a saline decongestant earlier that worked the first time I used it but isn't unblocking me now. I struggled to eat and breathe. It was the sterimar one. I hate nit being able to use sudafed. 😒

Bee49 · 22/04/2024 21:06

@Joey2011 have you tried the Vicks inhaler? We’re allowed to use that. It’s not as good as a proper nasal spray but I find it definitely helps.

LuxeBiscuit · 22/04/2024 21:33

@CluelessInLondon sorry to hear you're anxious. Hopefully you start feeling movement soon to ease some of it.

Saying that, my anxiety got the better of me and I booked a scan after work for later this evening (the benefit of being in London). It was mainly because I hadn't felt the flutters that I had 2 weeks ago for about a week plus the spotting. I couldn't concentrate at work so booked it for reassurance.

I'm now going to try being optimistic as the chances of something going wrong at our stage is less than 1%.

Ahhh my skin. It hasn't been this bad since I was a teenager. Where's the glow we were promised!

CharlieBalf · 22/04/2024 21:44

I haven't had any acne (luckily) but my excema has exploded to super scary levels. It's literally everywhere and incredibly sore. I can't use my normal.cream as it's steroid based so waiting for gp app to get a script for something suitable. I feel like I'm literally falling apart.

Joey2011 · 22/04/2024 22:03

@Bee49 I'm currently steaming with vicks vapour rub. But 30secs after I stop I'm blocked again. I do have the inhaler too. Going to be a sleepless night I feel 😔

LSW82 · 23/04/2024 08:52

@Joey2011 @Bee49 also suffering here! Actually picked up a Vicks inhaler in boots yesterday - I miss night nurse!!!

peardeer · 23/04/2024 12:09

@CharlieBalf im also struggling with an eczema flare up! I had it as a child and then it came back at a really stressful period of my life and has never fully gone away. The first few weeks of pregnancy where great, it completely went away, then I got super stressed about the 12 week scan and it's back with a vengeance! I have been using the same cream for a year - no steroids but recently I have a huge reaction to it, my face goes red and burns and I get swelling on my eyelids so I have had to stop using it! Feeling super sore! On the off chance you find a good cream please let me know!

CDD · 23/04/2024 12:39

Hi hope everyone is well…
Has anyone got any progress bump pics they are willing to share I love to see them they are so cute…

I will take one and post one shortly just got the workman putting in my new windows atm

Bee49 · 23/04/2024 12:45

@peardeer not me but my son had really bad eczema on his face and the doctor gave us loads of different steroid and anti fungal creams, none of them worked. In the end I bought some epimax on Amazon and that’s cleared it right up.

Missingpotatocroquettes · 23/04/2024 20:21

Another one with really awful skin at the moment! It's so dry and flaky too.

@CDD I would but still no bump to share yet. 14 weeks today and I'm hoping it'll show up by 16 weeks!

mrssunshinexxx · 23/04/2024 21:54

@CDD 13+4 baby no3 x

missy24 · 24/04/2024 00:04

@CharlieBalf @peardeer my childhood eczema flared up in this pregnancy, from about 6 weeks my entire body apart from my face was covered. I'm still dealing with it now and get the odd flare ups for which I was prescribed bednovate (this is a steroid so have to use sparingly). I was also prescribed Epaderm Ointment which really hydrated my poor dry skin. Boots/Amazon sell this in a small 125g version which I really recommend testing out and if it works then they do a big 500g tub too. My skin was so bad I would go through the 500g in 2 weeks. Now it's calmed down, it lasts longer. I do have horrible marks all over my body now which will have to be the next thing to tackle. It's tough, I sympathise with you both. X

Missingpotatocroquettes · 24/04/2024 14:23

Possibly worst and most embarrassing day of being pregnant yet. Just threw up into a public bin outside a busy shopping centre. I was trying to get to the bathroom but I was lucky I made it to the bin. So many people watching 😭

CluelessInLondon · 24/04/2024 14:46

@Missingpotatocroquettes Oh no! I hope someone checked on you to make sure you were okay! Hope the sickness passes and you are feeling better soon.

Oh no!! That sounds so stressful. I hope you're ok now.

WeightoftheWorld · 24/04/2024 16:07

Hi everyone, I fell off the other thread. Hope everyone's doing ok, I'm having a major panic though. We've been waiting about 2.5 weeks for our combined screening results. I saw the midwife yesterday and she told me they can take up to three weeks to arrive in the post. However clever me thought it would be good to continually obsessively check my online maternity notes every day to see if they were uploaded there first. Well, I have just finally seen them uploaded. The good news is the screening came back low risk for all the trisomy conditions, which is great. The bad news is that it says I have low papp A levels so need a referral. I'm assuming that's to an obstetrician after doing some Googling and now I've got myself in a right panic reading about the risks of low papp A including increased chance of mid-trimester miscarriage! Is there anyone else here with similar just who can empathise if nothing else? We were so looking forward to telling our families and friends assuming all was well with the screening results but now I don't feel like I want to if I have an increased chance of losing the pregnancy still 😪

Sorry for such a self-absorbed post, I will read back a bit now.

WeightoftheWorld · 24/04/2024 16:11

@Joey2011 Genuinely one of the most annoying parts of pregnancy is when you have nasal congestion and can't use decongestant tablets, it's so grim! Have you tried steaming it out by leaning over a bowl of boiling water? It really does help for a little while.

Eczema sufferers - obviously speak to your doctors but I have used steroid creams throughout both my previous pregnancies and this one, sparingly but as needed. Hardly any of it is absorbed into the bloodstream and they're commonly used in pregnancy, I'm not sure if the BUMPS (Best Use of Medicines in Pregnancy) website might have some further info on them that might reassure you.

@mrssunshinexxx I don't want to post a photo but I'm 14+3 and look pretty much the same, also with baby 3!

@Missingpotatocroquettes Ah don't worry, with three HG pregnancies now under my belt, vomiting in public has unfortunately been par for the course. People will perhaps just think you've had a heavy night instead 😁

rachisamumtobe · 24/04/2024 16:13

@WeightoftheWorld sending massive hugs. Xxx
