@JLT24 yea of course

There you go 🤩

rachisamumtobe · 29/08/2024 08:18

@LuxeBiscuit yea I have, it's like a tightening of my stomach and it goes away when I move or after about 30 seconds

rachisamumtobe · 29/08/2024 08:21

@CluelessInLondon I'm glad it was good!! I have two sessions left on my course and have met some nice people

CluelessInLondon · 29/08/2024 10:12

@LuxeBiscuit I think I've had braxton hicks once, last week after I'd been exercising - had a sort of uncomfortable tightening across my bump that felt different to anything I'd had before. Haven't had it since though, and I think it's normal not to have any at all.

Round ligament pain has decided to make a comeback for me since last night - feels like I've got a really bad stitch if I'm walking and don't go really slowly.😣I'm a naturally fast walker so it's really hard to slow down!

When is everyone starting Mat Leave? I am off from 36 weeks and counting down the days as I am soo uncomfortable!

CluelessInLondon · 29/08/2024 15:40

@Sunandsea13 I'm finishing on 20th September so not until I'm about to hit 39 weeks. Don't want to waste any of my mat leave sitting around waiting for baby to arrive!

OP posts:
rachisamumtobe · 29/08/2024 16:42

@Sunandsea13 finishing at 35 weeks cause my work will be getting busy with students arriving and I really cba haha

LuxeBiscuit · 29/08/2024 18:09

It seems to be a mix on the braxton hicks.

@Sunandsea13 current plan is to work until almost 39 weeks but I have a desk job and can wfh from September. There's no way that would be possible for me with travel.

Bee49 · 29/08/2024 18:53

@CluelessInLondon same! Feels like a really bad stitch. I think my running days have finished for now. It’s just too painful. I stopped at 22 weeks with my son so I’m proud I got this far!

Mat leave starts at 40 weeks for me but I have 2 weeks annual leave before.

spudnik1 · 29/08/2024 21:07

Next week is my last week which is 36 week . So mat leave from 37. I have a physical job though and can't work from home. Just planning on resting up while the other child is at school.

Sara1988 · 29/08/2024 22:36

I'm going on MAT leave at 38 weeks. Too much to get done at work to go any earlier but I'm feeling OK really.

Swimming 3 times a week and it really helps with aches and pains!

AppleTree16 · 30/08/2024 00:07

Mat leave here from 36 weeks. I can’t believe I worked until 38 with my first. This pregnancy has been horrendous though - I’ve been on sick leave for HG for months.

rachisamumtobe · 30/08/2024 08:30

@Sara1988 yay for the swimming! That's great

Mitsky · 30/08/2024 09:42

After a blissful (hahaha) 10 days leg cramps were back with a vengeance. Whyyyyyyyyyyyy!

CluelessInLondon · 30/08/2024 13:01

@Bee49 That's impressive that you were able to keep up running as long as you have! I'm not a runner at all so thankfully haven't had to give it up - I'm still getting into the gym 2-3 times a week and focusing on strength and toning, which I can do without too much discomfort.
How did your GD test last week go? Mine came back normal, which is a big relief - one less thing to worry about.

I've just had my 36 week appointment and everything seems to be going well at the moment - baby's head is 3/5 engaged, I decided to Google exactly what that means in practice and read that this might be the most engaged it gets before I go into labour. Slightly scary thought! But nice to know that baby is getting into position and my body is doing what it needs to. Also explains why I've been feeling a lot more pressure in my pelvis this week, and why I just generally feel a lot heavier and more uncomfortable than I did previously.

OP posts:
Bee49 · 30/08/2024 13:07

@CluelessInLondon yes still in the gym. I really think strength training has helped avoid any major aches and pains.

Well I didn’t get a call so I assume the test was clear. Didn’t come up on my GP record though which every other blood test does and my GTT test last pregnancy! I’m going to double check with my midwife next week that it was all good.

LuxeBiscuit · 30/08/2024 13:28

@CluelessInLondon I was momentarily confused when you said 36 weeks. Thinking that can't be right, that's near the end. Then I remembered I'm only 2 weeks behind you!

I remember thread 1 back in Feb and all the worry and anxiety. But it looks like your baby might be one of the first to arrive. How exciting!

I'm glad the GD came back negative and at least you have an explanation for the pelvic pain.

@Bee49 no news was good news for me re GD results. I think hospitals are quick to call if there is an issue at this stage.

CluelessInLondon · 30/08/2024 14:25

@Bee49 Definitely agree, I think staying active and exercising regularly has made a massive difference to how I've felt during pregnancy. I'm hoping it will help during labour and with my recovery as well, fingers crossed!
Hopefully no news is good news on your GD test - I didn't hear anything about mine either and when I asked the midwife this morning she said before looking it up that if nobody had called me then it would almost certainly be normal.

@LuxeBiscuit It is crazy to think that I'm into the last few weeks - 35+6 today! As my due date was brought forward at my dating scan and is actually end of September I will be able to say in a couple of days' time that my baby is due this month, which is kind of scary - I genuinely couldn't imagine how that would feel when I found out I was pregnant at the end of January. I've been working on the assumption all along that baby will be late on the basis that the majority of babies are late, but of course baby doesn't know what the date is and will just show up when it's ready!

Sara1988 · 30/08/2024 21:07

@CluelessInLondon how did you find out baby is 2/5ths engaged? I got told a few weeks ago baby's head was engaged but not by how much! My pelvis is really really feeling it

CluelessInLondon · 30/08/2024 23:11

@Sara1988 The midwife just told me when she was listening to the heartbeat and checking baby's position - I asked if baby was still head down and she said yes and that it was 3/5 engaged, which she then put into my notes. I guess it takes a bit of skill to work out how engaged the head is - even at this point I can poke and prod at my bump all I want and I can't really tell where the baby is, never mind how much of its head is in my pelvis!

Do you have paper notes? Ours put it in there along with their presentation (so cephalic/head down, breech etc)

LuxeBiscuit · 31/08/2024 08:33

I asked the midwife how they can tell the position from a few prods and she just laughed and said it's magic lol. It's very impressive. The only reason I know myself that baby is head down is because I feel hiccups in my pelvic area.

Sara1988 · 31/08/2024 08:56

Yeah I've been told their engaged but nothing about how much! Would love to know but I guess it doesn't mean much really. They'll come when they're ready! My pelvis is just so uncomfortable

WeightoftheWorld · 31/08/2024 10:36

@rachisamumtobe I have an almost identical cushion also from Amazon. I bought it in my first pregnancy as I had awful coccyx pain from the middle of my pregnancy. Work did get me on for there but it was rubbish, much thinner and less effective so I ended up just taking my own in each day anyway (was office based and working FT then). Luckily I have not had much issue with coccyx pain in either my second or third pregnancy but I do wonder if that's partly due to less time sitting on it because I no longer worked/work FT and had/have my other kids to chase about after. But who knows.

I'm finishing work at 36 weeks but my mat leave doesn't technically start until 38 weeks as I'm taking some AL first. I finished around the same time last time and was glad I did even though DC2 didn't come until nearly 42 weeks. I only have two days a week without the kids once I finish, so it's really not much time to sort stuff out/nest/rest even if baby doesn't arrive for weeks.

CharlieBalf · 01/09/2024 19:44

Baby #3 and I've been having braxton hicks every other day since week 32. Sometimes its so tight I feel like I can't breathe!
Section booked for 39 weeks on the day but I feel so huge and baby is already over 99th percentile that I feel it my come early.

Just today got everything down from the loft! We're due to move house in two.weeks. I'll be at my parents for the birth and about a month after until our new house is ready. I'm very nervous about not having all my stuff around me but we don't have any other choice!
