@UnicornPrincessSarah il ring drs Monday to book in then! As for EPU I worry I’ll just be fobbed off they were rubbish in my Missed miscarriage xxx

DinoNuggetsRUs · 13/04/2024 20:51

Hi All!

Just come to mumsnet looking for a thread for December due dates!

I'm pregnant with my 2nd, my first is 3 next week and he took 19 months to conceive and new baby took 18 months so it's been a bit of a slog.

I'm 29 (I should be having baby right before my 30th birthday so I'm buzzing I still get to have a wine for my 30th!) and my husband is 32.

Currently have no symptoms, but I didn't first time around either, but I'm slightly worried as I should be 6+4 but my clear blue test is still showing 2-3 weeks!

@UnicornPrincessSarah iv only every used that hospital but I will deffo look out for if there’s any that are close just so worried with me not feeling anything and don’t wanna think oh I’ll be ok cus I’m not bleeding as that’s what happens with the missed miscarriage it stopped growing at 6 weeks I found out when I was ment to be 10, sorry I’m being negative guys I guess it’s the true worry we have from previous losses xxxx

UnicornPrincessSarah · 14/04/2024 08:55

@MotherofGods I totally get that i had a MC at 6/7 weeks myself but I did bleed. this time I had scan at 5+4 to rule out ectopic as had a lot of pains in my legs and feet back in 24th April to check for fetal pole and heartbeat

If epu wont help they do private early scans to

Morning guys, should I be worried? I stupidly did a test today just to see how dark. I’m about 22DPO… shouldn’t this have been as dark or darker than the control line? FMU 4 hour hold. I still have pregnancy symptoms with no change. Can these tests be off sometimes? Panicking a bit.
p.s. Ignore the crazy nails…

If you still have the urine try mix some with water like 50% water 50% urine and see if you are getting the hook effect this is when HCG is too high but the test wont darken

If really worried you could also ask gp to look at your HSG bloods

The hook effect suggestion is a good one

Otherwise, I always get my positives fairly late and I was doing some research into why and I've read that if you're plus size, your pregnancy tests don't show as quickly. I have zero idea the truth behind that, just something I read on Reddit so don't hold me to it!

Mine still like that at 19DPO

Dogscanlookup · 14/04/2024 09:18

Thanks guys, just looked up hook effect but that’s for HCG over 100,000? I think (going by Thursdays results) I should be around 2000? Annoying I threw the pot away.

interesting about the plus size! Although I wouldn’t put myself in that catergory.

this was my test Weds so 18dpo. It’s darker than that but not like I would have thought 😭 I have a scan Tuesday afternoon which now feels forever away

I think as long as it's getting darker that's good.

JNicko · 14/04/2024 09:25

Min not as dark as control line

Yes that's was this morning.

Dogscanlookup · 14/04/2024 09:47

@JNicko i think that’s a good line, it looks possibly stronger than mine! My 18DPO was weaker than that. Even though my 22dpo is darker than my 18DPO it’s not by much. I’m freaking out because I had a bad fever the last two days and I’m worried it’s effected the pregnancy

I know exactly how you feel. I'm exactly the same. Iv had three previous losses so I'm constantly analysing things. I saw this on another thread which really helped me. Easier said than done but try not to stress about something that's out of your control. I'm sure everything is fine x

Attached is mine for 18/20dpo I got my dye stealer 22/24dpo same day I got my clear blue 3+ I then had my bloods done 3 days later at 5+6 and my results were 17999

Your clear blue looks very dark the clear and simple strip is a little patchy I didn't like them myself

Some peoples HGC takes a little while to rise aswell

How Far should you be on your scan day?

@UnicornPrincessSarah wow I wish mine was like that now. 😩

Quolla · 14/04/2024 11:47

Just a note that i took a test yesterday afternoon that was definitely lighter then the tests a few days ago. I mildly worried obviously, but then took one first thing this morning and it's darkish again. I think hydration/time of day etc etc makes a big difference!

I'm 5+1ish now so have decided to step away from the tests and call the midwife tomorrow!

Dogscanlookup · 14/04/2024 11:57

@UnicornPrincessSarah this is what worries me, your test is super dark but mines not and I’m further along.

@Quolla ah that’s amazing news it’s darker! Some nice reassurance. Yeah, hydration is definitely a factor amongst other things. I don’t think I like these freedom strip tests tbh. When I did my 12DPO ones one came up completely negative and one was clearly positive … from the same urine pot 😒

Quolla · 14/04/2024 12:03

@Dogscanlookup yes, early pregnancy is a very unfun time as there's really not much you can do but wait and then see! Not much changes any outcome, and I think in our lives today we're used to more control and certainty! Last pregnancy I didn't have any scans until the 12-week one and it was kind of fun to see the baby for the first time then, but a long wait! This time I'm thinking maybe a private one at 8 weeks as I'm travelling abroad then and I'd like confirmation it's in the right place etc before that.
