Anyone else tested super early and due December 2024? This is my 2nd pregnancy after a mmc 2 days after my 12 week scan in December and actual miscarriage in January.

Hoping this will be the 1 that sticks and is healthy. Think my due date is Dec 3rd

Should add that I didn't use bibs until baby started teething or solids. I just used the muslins tucked under their little chins. Always found bibs just a farce when their heads and necks were so small. Buts that's my opinion.

Same here I never used bibs.

Lunamoon23 · 25/10/2024 16:13

That's really handy to know thanks girls. I'll have to have a look in primark, haven't seen any in there yet. I find our local primark selection of baby stuff is really crap and minimal. X

Ladies is it true you need tonnes of Muslim squares??
I've got about 10, is that sufficient or am I needing more?

I've also got some muslim bibs and normal bibs too.

Also anything that you wouldn't really think of as a must have that you recommend? I think I've got everything I need but being a first time mum you never really know 😂

Lots of women swear by them, we never used ours

If you have a particularly sicky or drooly baby I can imagine they are good

OnNaturesCourse · 25/10/2024 21:39

Ladies have any of you noticed any nausea and/sickness starting to creep back?

I only really got over it maybe 6/7 weeks ago.

But the last two morning I've gagged brushing my teeth again so I'm just hoping it's not going to get as bad as it was at the start. 😭

MaybeBaby2024 · 26/10/2024 01:38

@OnNaturesCourse yes I’ve vomited randomly a few times recently. Brushing teeth sets me off too.

RedRobyn2021 · 26/10/2024 04:41

@OnNaturesCourse yes I have actually. Just nausea and a bit of gagging though, usually if I haven't drunk enough water

CatCaretaker · 26/10/2024 07:44

Second - or first - time mums, can you give me some reassurance. I was awake for a few hours last night, as usual, and while lying there I noticed thar my stomach (just below my ribs) was quite hard. I poked and prodded for a while un amusement wondering what part of my just under my ribcage was so hard, until it moved because - of course- it was baby's foot.

Can some just reassure me that I was hurting her? I feel like such a fool.

She's jumping around now as normal, thankfully.

RedRobyn2021 · 26/10/2024 07:49

@CatCaretaker you won't have hurt her Flowers

OnNaturesCourse · 26/10/2024 09:56

@CatCaretaker you won't have hurt baby - gentle prods are fine. I often push my bump to encourage baby to move whatever arm/leg or butt/head they have stuck under my rib. This morning I sort of wiggled my bump a little so I could show baby movement to my other children. This baby is the first I've had where my bump actually physically moves (can be seen from outside) so I'm pretty fascinated by it. Baby responds to outside tickles too lol.

CatCaretaker · 26/10/2024 10:46

@OnNaturesCourse thanks. Everything I read says, that 'gentle' pokes are OK, but what counts as gentle? I've bumped off things a few times not knowing my new size, is that gentle enough? I'm very paranoid about hurting her!

Yes, my bump visibly moves too. It's so odd, but lovely to watch.

RedRobyn2021 · 26/10/2024 14:54

@CatCaretaker

It's safe for a toddler to bounce on your bump and it won't hurt baby, please don't worry about a prod. Something to talk to your midwife about to confirm for peace of mind maybe?

CatCaretaker · 26/10/2024 15:09

Thanks @RedRobyn2021 yes, I tried to talk to the consultant about it the last day but she wasn't my regular one and she wasn't too ... approachable or verbose 😂

LilyJessie · 26/10/2024 22:22

@CatCaretaker - No definitely not! Please don't spend another moment worrying 🙏🏼

I have not felt sick. I feel like I am a whale though. I've gone from not very pregnant to very pregnant in what feels like overnight!!

I’m 32 weeks and felt like I was back in my first trimester today, had forgot what the nausea had felt like! I had skipped breakfast so think that’s probably why or potentially related to my iron supplement. Praying it was a one off!

@HelterSkelter224
Thank you so much!
I was looking at Tutti Bambini! The Noah, the Jonah and the Oscar.
I like that you change to an armchair after too!

We’ve got the Oscar chair and absolutely love it! Obviously baby isn’t here yet so can’t comment on how much use we will get out of it but it’s so comfy and supportive.

Hi, just new to the site and due on december 10th!

Does anyone here have any experience with aquatherapy/Swimming Pool excercises? I was pointed out to try it as there´s a place nearby that can accomodate for it ant it would be group sessions of about 5 - 10 moms, thing is is that i haven´t been on a swimming pool (or any body of water larger than a tub) for a decade I think!

vanillaiceice · 27/10/2024 02:52

Hi ladies
any recommendations for a double hands free breast pump?
not looking for something too pricey like the medela one but something good that maybe you used and can recommend please to me?
thanks in advance x

OnNaturesCourse · 27/10/2024 02:56

Similar to @vanillaiceice ... Any recommendations for wearable pumps like the Elvie but cheaper lol.

CatCaretaker · 27/10/2024 07:28

@LilyJessie same here! A few weeks ago people couldn't reliably tell I was pregnant, now I'm enormous! With 2 months to go 😂

RedRobyn2021 · 27/10/2024 07:33

@vanillaiceice @OnNaturesCourse

Honestly I would save your money until the baby gets here

I spent money on a pump and hated pumping, I thought this way my partner could give her a bottle and I could have a "break"

Well first of all she wouldn't take the bottle, but second of all I still needed to pump the feed I would have given her if we were together. Hardly a break. Not to mention that the time I wanted a break was in the night so I could sleep, but this is also when your prolactin is highest so for the sake of your supply when you really need to be feeding the baby.

I'm sure it works well for lots of women, but i would honestly recommend waiting, the truth is we can get pretty much anything we need within a day

I also echo this and waited until my son arrived to buy a pump. Mainly as I wanted to exclusively breastfeed and they say not to pump for the first few weeks until your supply settles.

I’d wait and see and I think you can also trial some out, so maybe look into that!

I totally hear what your saying
but this is baby number 4 for me and used the pump for every other child and was a lifesaver
I get really really engorged to the point I can’t anymore and after every breastfeeding I need to pump out until my milk settles.
Yes some will say pumping makes you more engorged but this has been me every pregnancy speaking to breast feeding specialists.
so I do need a pump on hand when I give birth 😉

Lunamoon23 · 27/10/2024 13:05

@vanillaiceice @OnNaturesCourse not a electric breast pump, but I've brought this one which is a manual. It came highly recommended and has nearly 20,000 4-5star reviews. I thought I'd buy a manual pump before I invested in an electric which is far more expensive. My midwife also told me I can also rent one from our hospital if I wanted to try before I buy. (Electric)
But I should also add, this is my first baby and I've zero experience with breastfeeding. Which is another reason I didn't want to splash out on an electric to find breastfeeding didn't work for me. I've added the link below though xxxxx

Thank you so much and good luck!! Hope breastfeeding works for you if you want it 😀

but I can’t do manual
need electric and double to finish the work quickly 🤭
again it’s my fourth time breastfeeding so I know what I want 😄
I want though this time hands free but don’t wanna splash in expensive brands.
so thought if someone has a cheaper brand and recommends would be a huge help

xx
