Welcome all expectant mothers of Oct 2024… This thread has been made as we are nearly getting to the end of the 2nd thread and that was made a little last time and people didn’t find it for a abit so making this one now so people can just add their names until the 2nd thread is full. Hope no one minds me doing this :)

@Nic2908 I’m OK thanks. Just waiting for NIPT results currently and very nervous after losing my little boy last year. I’m finding it quite hard to connect with this pregnancy at the moment after all that’s happened, so haven’t been posting much.

I had my 12 week scan today....... what do you think- boy or girl??!!

Lovely 12 week scans. They are so clear. Beautiful. Mine is on Monday, I am majorly on count down but also low key dreading it at the same time

@AnnieApple123 that’s made my day to hear from you lovely. I’m too waiting for my nipt results. It seems the longest wait in the world. Your body and brain are in self protection mode, absolutely to be expected. I’m praying you get the results we all want for you.

What happens at a 12 week scan please? Is it just a scan or bloods etc also?

@WickWood scan bloods and a midwife check in I think if I remember correctly.

@WickWood if you’ve opted for screening then they take bloods at the 12 week scan too

@Nic2908 I'm the same, both looking forward to my scan (it's on Saturday so just two days to go) but also petrified and finding it hard not to catastrophise about things that could have gone wrong since my last scan, or that there's going to be an issue with the screening results. Just have to keep reminding myself that the odds are in my favour at this point!

Time between scans feel so long, can’t believe I had my last one at 7 weeks.. I’m 10 weeks tomorrow and it feels like an eternity 😅
do you know if we are automatically opted in for the screening at 12 week scan or is this something I need to call my midwife to get opt in for? X

My scan is tomorrow and I know I am not going to sleep tonight. I am half expecting there to be nothing there ! Which is daft as I had a early scan at 7 weeks, then went for a kidney scan at 10 weeks and asked if I could see the baby and the lovely ladies obliged. So I know there is a baby in there !

@Seashells4 I had to sign something at my booking appointment to confirm that I was opting in for the combined screening.

@Seashells4 I also had to sign a form to opt into screening. Have you had your booking appointment?

I've got my scan date through, it is in a few months. I'm at work in the hospital on the day, which will be very awkward, as I've not told anyone there. Will have to try and sneak off and desperately hope nobody I know sees me in the scanning department or asks any questions lol. Unfortunately it's not a working day for DH, he has our toddler so may not be able to come...hoping someone in my family might be around and can babysit for an hour.

Absolutely ridiculous non serious post here but I am just really craving a can of redbull 😂

@CluelessInLondon @LuxeBiscuit I didn’t think I signed anything at my booking appointment last week, I’ve just messaged my midwife to check if I’m opted in because the whole appointment is like a blur to me now!
if she doesn’t come back to me I’ll give the hospital a call. Bizarre!

I just had my 12 week scan today. I opted in with my midwife in the booking in appointment-but I didn't sign anything . When I turned up today I signed a consent form straight away and had my bloods done first.

Everything at my scan was looking perfect - I'm so thankful. 💕

I’ve been tempted to book another scan just to give me peace of mind but I’m trying my best to hold on for my 12 week scan as I know I’ll become a scan addict otherwise, an expensive addiction!!

just heard back from my midwife and she said I was automatically opted in so that’s all good! X

Exciting everyone’s starting having their 12 week scans 🥰

Mine is Thursday next week! I last had one at 8 weeks.
I’m terrified 😭 and literally counting down the days!
I work in radiology, and so tempted to go and scan myself just to see and it’ll make me feel better but part of me (I had a MMC in October) is scared and thinks I should just wait 🫠

Isn’t the first trimester SO hard after miscarriage?!

So jealous of everyone's lovely 12 week scans 😍 I'm only 9 weeks on Saturday. 12 week scan is going to be after 14th April, so we are doing another private scan at 11 weeks (booked for 5th April) to check on the twinnies xxx

@Seashells4 I know! Mines not til 15th April and I'm 10 weeks tomorrow! Excited but nervous xxx

Did they give you your due date? Did it change from what you thought?

I have my 12 week scan this evening its felt like its dragged getting to this day but now its finally hear it feels like this day is going on forever I keep looking at the time it feels like 15 mins is lasting 1 hour lol

@Seashells4 I'm feeling nauseous and exhausted... I went into Tesco just now and saw all the lovely baby clothes and felt so excited. How are you doing? X
