Hi all,

I've just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. I've found Mumsnet so helpful during conception so wanted to start a thread on pregnancy if anyone wanted to join. I'm feeling VERY tired, I've had cold feet (literally) and jelly legs today. I had very heavy implantation bleeding last time (which ended in loss about 4 weeks later) and none of that so far so hoping that's a positive sign. Have the strangest feeling already that it's a boy. How's everyone else doing? Xxx

@Starrysky812 thanks for your message. I know you’re right - I actually had unexplained bleeding in my first pregnancy and DS2 was fine. It’s just such a horrible limbo time. My local EPU only see you if the GP refers you and only if you are over 6 weeks. I think I am 6 weeks tomorrow or Tuesday so I’m worried they won’t see me. I’ve considered booking a private scan but I’m aware it could be too early to see a heartbeat anyway, so that would just fuel my anxiety. I’m not having any pain but have a heaviness in my lower abdomen and some discomfort in my shoulders and ribs, which could be tension.

piechipsgravy · 17/03/2024 17:18

@1yearplan @waryandbored keeping everything crossed for both of you!

I'm due for my 6 + 3 scan at 8.50am tomorrow. I'm absolutely terrified. I think I'm most worried that we won't see a fetal pole/heartbeat and we'll get given the 'dates are off'/'it's too early' answer when we had a scan at 4 + 5 12 days ago and saw sac and yolk sac then measuring 4.5 weeks. I don't think I could cope with another 10 days of waiting, knowing that most likely things aren't going as they should. I've been working so hard on positive mindset but as the scan gets closer I just feel full of dread.

1yearplan · 17/03/2024 17:31

You've got this @piechipsgravy. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow morning. Please let us know how you get on. Hopefully everything is going to plan and the little one is coming along nicely.

1yearplan · 17/03/2024 17:31

Welcome to the new ladies!

shohopeful · 17/03/2024 17:34

@piechipsgravy I hope you're doing ok. This part is just so difficult and I do think we're left to our own devices far too much. I have everything crossed for you. I know you'll likely be feeling a little more pressure because of what you were told before but you got pregnant! So it's obviously possible. And that was just one persons opinion. Sending love xxx

@1yearplan god what a confusion time for you. Keeping everything crossed for you!

@piechipsgravy I've got my first scan tomorrow, I should be 6+6 weeks going by LMP but I'm also absolutely terrified that it'll be bad news. My appointment isn't until 1:30pm either so I've got all morning to stress 😌 not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight...

piechipsgravy · 17/03/2024 19:36

Thanks @1yearplan @shohopeful @Loz365

DH has run me a bath (first since getting pregnant) to try and help me relax tonight but oh my god a lukewarm bath is miserable. I love my baths scalding hot and it's so depressing sitting in tepid water! I'm counting down the minutes before I can get out so I don't offend him..

malant · 17/03/2024 19:56

Hope the scans go well tomorrow, can understand the worry. It’s anxious times.

I had my scan earlier this evening and there really is a baby in there. Measuring 7+2 which is exactly the same as my app.

I am elated but really didn’t expect good news because of all the bleeding - they confirmed it was due to subchorionic hematoma, so at least that explains it.

1yearplan · 17/03/2024 20:44

@malant That's wonderful news! I'm glad your scan went well. Keep growing little one!

@piechipsgravy - oh bless his heart. I'd have snuck out and just hung around in the bath room pretending to be in the bath, my kids used to do that when they were younger 😂

Good luck tomorrow @Loz365, sending you the best of wishes.

I’m sure you’re already aware but be careful with shoulder pain and bleeding, it could signal ectopic. Do you have to wait for referral? If it’s urgent can you present at EPAU/gyne emergency? Take care of yourself xx

piechipsgravy · 18/03/2024 06:12

@malant that's amazing news!

@Loz365 thinking of you today- hope the wait isn't too unbearable!

Hi, thanks for your reply. The pain in my shoulder isn’t severe or constant, which is what I read can be a sign of internal bleeding. I think it’s just tension but I will mention it to my GP today. Our local EPU is referral only so you can’t turn up. I spoke to 111 yesterday and they just advised me to self care and call the GP today. The bleeding stopped and I’ve had a bit of spotting this morning but hardly anything. I am still going to ask for a referral I think.

they don’t seem overly concerned on 111 so hope that’s a good sign. Fingers crossed you get a referral and checked out 🙏 x

Hey!! Congratulations to you all on your expected arrivals. My partner actually recommended I join something like this as I’m super excited about being pregnant (due early November) but feeling pretty grim physically! The daily sickness and feeling nausea was massively played down in my thoughts until reality well and truly kicked in. I can’t even fill my car up without gipping. I keep getting real bad stomach pains which is sending my paranoia in overdrive which I’m presuming is trapped wind or my body adjusting to the changes. It’d be nice to talk to a new expecting mummy as this is all so new to me and haven’t been able to speak with anyone who’s experiencing the range of emotions too! Xx

muddlingthrou · 18/03/2024 07:40

Welcome @FastCyanPeer. I've just started a new thread for pregnancy sickness support if you (and anyone else) would like to join?

Anyone else getting mild cramps? Since my positive test, I seem to get about 30 seconds to a minute of mild cramps a few times a day. I thought implantation would be over by now 👀 got my positive on 10dpo March 14th.

Starrysky812 · 18/03/2024 08:18

@RedCords yes me! I had quite a lot of cramping last week. Mostly settled atm but still occasionally happening (I'm 4+5 today). I remember I had quite severe cramps with DD until about 8 weeks, so waiting for that starting up again! I spoke to my midwife at the time and she said as long as it's not accompanied by bleeding, it's not really anything to worry about. Just the body adjusting and hormone's fluctuating xx

RedCords · 18/03/2024 09:07

Ah thanks that is reassuring @Starrysky812. Yeah, I keep going to the bathroom to wipe and see if I'm bleeding. I start convincing myself I am because the only comparison I have is period cramps! It's nice to have this thread to ask what's normal etc as I haven't told anyone in real life yet (except DH).

piechipsgravy · 18/03/2024 09:22

Hi all, just got out of the scan. Saw a teeny baby bean and a heartbeat 🥰 and the sonographer also showed me BOTH my ovaries and said they look fine! So feeling doubly relieved and incredibly grateful.

RedCords · 18/03/2024 09:24

Congrats, wonderful news @piechipsgravy 🥳

shohopeful · 18/03/2024 09:24

@piechipsgravy that's amazing!!!! I wonder why that other person felt the need to tell you that. I'd honestly consider complaining because that was so unfair. Massive congratulations to you. That must be a huge relief. Did they say what you're measuring? Our scan is still another 11 days away. I am feeling so sicky today, but not thrown up (yet!) xxx

@piechipsgravy that's amazing! I'm so happy for you! 🥰

Mumtobeno2 · 18/03/2024 09:33

@piechipsgravy amazing news! Ah I bet that was such a wonderful moment seeing little Bean's heartbeat for the first time. My scan is still 2 and half weeks away, going at exactly 8 weeks and wish I'd have booked it sooner.

@shohopeful I'm also feeling very sicky today, the general smell of my house (which is clean just general house smells) is making me want gip randomly. Oh the joys! How far along are you now? I've not been sick yet either just waves of nausea and wanting to be.

Mummysparrow · 18/03/2024 09:35

That's great @piechipsgravy
I am totally not keeping up with the chat in here 🤣
Does anyone want to do a FB group? I have a mumsnet FB group from my last daughter and we all still speak 3 and a half years later
