Hi ladies, I've recently found out I'm pregnant again after 2 losses in a row. I'm very lucky to have a DS and I had another MC before I had him. So 3 losses in total. I'm only 4+4, but got faint positive 11 days ago at 9dpo and it feels like I've been pregnant for aaaages but time is moving so slowly. We've booked an early scan when I'll be 8 weeks exactly so waiting it out until then, and hoping nothing happens in between. I wondered if anyone else is in a similar position and wanted to share this early journey with me. I've decided not to tell anyone this time round, a lot of my close friends are dealing with newborns or their own ivf journeys and I don't want to add any load to anyone. But it feels like a huge load to me so would love to share with someone!

@MOGMOGMOG85 I am so pleased for you! I’ve been lurking this afternoon waiting for an update and am so, so glad you got good news. Fingers crossed for two weeks time 💕

30somethingttc · 19/04/2024 21:03

@MOGMOGMOG85
that's really great news.
very very pleased for you.

OnNaturesCourse · 19/04/2024 21:52

🥹🥰 So pleased for you @MOGMOGMOG85

Figtree11 · 20/04/2024 08:42

That’s great news @MOGMOGMOG85 ❤️

Hopingrae · 20/04/2024 10:09

@MOGMOGMOG85 how wonderful to have seen a heartbeat. Don't feel guilty about how you've been feeling. Your feeling are 100% valid. Many of us have been where you are and I can certainly relate to that feeling of dread and certainty that you don't believe it will be ok before a scan. When we had a first scan with my DS around 8 weeks I was numb and didn't sink in until hours/ days afterwards that there was a blob with a heartbeat x

@30somethingttc hope your extra scan went OK this week too.

@Hopingrae yes numb makes total sense. My heart was racing and I just wanted to run away as soon as we got to the clinic. I was on edge the whole time. It made me realise its DEFINITELY ptsd or something my body was in true fight or flight. Its amazing and I've only had one loss so it must be an epidemic what women as a whole go through...

Thanks so much everyone for your kind words. I woke up this morning and didn't even notice that I didn't feel sick straight away so I've gained a bit of peace of mind for now. Worth every penny xxx

Sez281 · 20/04/2024 11:12

Just catching up, a lot of posts to get through and a lot of new ladies (welcome all xx)

@MOGMOGMOG85 I'm so glad to hear of your update. Don't apologise for how you've been feeling, it's great that you can express your fears on here.

I've woken up this morning and 15+2 and all of my symptoms have completely disappeared. I know this is normal and I should be delighted but of course my brain thought the worst and is making me terrified for my 16 week scan on Monday . Coincidentally a friend sent me this today and it really resonated with me. I think I need to read it daily going forward!

@30somethingttc hope your extra scan went OK this week too.

Thank you!
it went well and signed off be the consultant. I’m 12+3 and feeling like im starting to turn a corner with my mental health struggles.
we couldn’t do the screening as we will have a high risk for false positives but they said there wasn’t any markers to indicate anything to worry about so just got to make peace with that.
I’ve booked a private scan for 16 weeks which we said we will see nearer the time if we want to do as only had to pay £20 deposit. Otherwise no more scans for me until mid June!

hope everyone is ok today and has a nice weekend x

30somethingttc · 20/04/2024 11:18

love that @Sez281
hope Monday goes well. Not long to wait now!! Xx

Sez281 · 20/04/2024 12:23

@30somethingttc Aww I'm so happy to hear that it went well. I know you'd have preferred the screening but I hope it's a little bit of reassurance knowing that everything looks positive 👌

Just went for a walk in the sunshine making the most of my new found energy and trying to think positively..... FYI Just discovered Jessie Ware's "is it normal" podcast if anybody is looking for a good listen on the move!

Mamaxo · 20/04/2024 12:23

Hope I'm okay to join in, I've had two previous miscarriages and then had my daughter, trying to conceive for a year with pcos and just found out I'm pregnant (4 weeks) but can't stop thinking the worst :( and got a long wait till a scan xx

SnookyPook · 20/04/2024 12:45

@MOGMOGMOG85 aw I'm so delighted for you! And please don't feel bad. I almost fainted in the waiting room ahead of my first scan and had written the pregnancy off before at least two of the others. Pregnancy after loss is a whole new ballgame.

@30somethingttc so glad yours went well too and you felt reassured 🥰 Officially into second trimester now! 🥳

@Mamaxo welcome and I hope you find some comfort on this thread. Congratulations on your BFP! 💗

SnookyPook · 20/04/2024 12:48

@Sez281 you are in prime 'placenta has taken over, second trimester energy boost and glow' time but it is unnerving when the symptoms disappear isn't it?! I'm sure everything is fine and you will get reassurance at your 16wk appointment 🥰

OnNaturesCourse · 20/04/2024 21:12

Bit of a random one here but wondering if anyone else is similar...

How is everyone finding the tiredness in these early days?

I'm only 5w but some nights I can barely make it to 3pm before having nothing left to give. I always get a good, long sleep now cos I'm out like a light when I hit the pillow which is unusual for me but still so tired.

I was tired with my others but I don't remember it being this extreme, this early.

H20202 · 20/04/2024 21:22

Weeks 5 and 6 I napped every day! I couldn’t survive without it x

OnNaturesCourse · 20/04/2024 21:28

@H20202 it's crazy, isn't it. My DH actually said he was worried about me as I've been so tired, and he's never one to say things like that as he knows I suffer with health anxiety and automatically think the worse. Lost count of the times he's asked "are you okay?" today... 😂

Hopingrae · 21/04/2024 07:37

@30somethingttc that's brilliant! That must be a relief. I hope you feel you are moving into your second trimester with some reassurance. I think we'll be doing the same and booking a scan around 16 weeks too. Yay, so pleased for you x
@Sez281 that's definitely when I started to feel better and more energised with DS, hopefully I really positive sign and time for you! Not long to wait until your 16 week appointment now! x
@SnookyPook when did you say your next scan/ consultant appt is lovely? Wishing you all the best with it all x

I'm not quite keeping up atm, but a big welcome new ladies you're very welcome. Totally recognise the fears you're arriving with and the exhaustion some of your are feeling. It can be a very long first trimester, one day at a time!

I'm looking forward to getting my 12 week scan out the way tomorrow so it can be "ticked off" my long first trimester list, and finding out estimated due date. I'll be 12+4 based on LMP but all scans have put me 3, 4 and 5 days ahead. So will be good to get a clearer EDD (even though I know they don't always mean much (DS was 9 days late!). I'm definitely anxious but I'm hesitantly feeling slightly reassued after my private and epu scans but just want to get through this milestone so I can start to move out of this first trimester swamp. I'll let you guys know how things go x

SnookyPook · 21/04/2024 09:05

@Hopingrae ooh alm the best for tomorrow - that 12wk scan is such a great milestone to pass. 🥰

My next scan is also tomorrow afternoon! Thanks for asking. Just really curious now. Thankfully not scared re heartbeat as I can feel little man, so just hoping he's looking healthy and grown a bit and that water levels/blood flow etc are all looking good in there... 🙏🏼 I'll be 24wks tomorrow which is viability week so that feels pretty huge! Although obviously hoping he stays in a while longer 😂 My DS was 8 days late too @Hopingrae so no idea what to expect this time. I know people are often a bit earlier /quicker with a second but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hopingrae · 21/04/2024 09:36

@SnookyPook aww lots of luck with it, hopefully we'll both have some positive news to share 😊 oh yes, 24 weeks is a great point to get to and must be so reassuring to feel him wriggling!

OP posts:
Sez281 · 21/04/2024 09:39

Oh wow @SnookyPook can't believe it's 24 weeks tomorrow. It feels like yesterday that you got your BFP on this one. Yet so much has happened since then! Fingers crossed everything's going in the right direction and you can tick that massive viability milestone off 🥰

@Hopingrae such a big day and milestone for you tomorrow too. So glad to hear you're feeling a bit more reassured, hopefully tomorrow only adds to it 🙏

TamsynR · 21/04/2024 10:02

Hi @OnNaturesCourse im 7w4d and just getting over the tiredness at 4-6 weeks! I could barely stay awake after 3pm! Thankfully now it’s reduced (although I’m still going to bed at 9pm). Good luck! X

30somethingttc · 21/04/2024 11:22

Good luck for all the scans tomorrow. Hoping they all go well ☺️

here’s to moving into the second trimester @Hopingrae

i can’t wait for the feeling of wriggles @SnookyPook when they just start do you just know what they are? I always wondered if I’d miss them mistaking them for something else or not realising that feeling is them moving around.

my sickness went and I felt so much better and now it’s back and quite strong. Worried I’m not eating or drinking enough and it will mean the babies aren’t getting what they need - is there ever something not to worry about😅

MOGMOGMOG85 · 21/04/2024 17:31

@Hopingrae and @SnookyPook best of luck tomorrow!!

@30somethingttc massive congrats on your scan xx

@Mamaxo massive congrats on your bfp, I found out 3 weeks ago (7+1 now) and it had actually been hell. The women on here have witnessed several meltdowns and me being sure I'd lost it but I had a private scan at 6+6 and all well. I have no magic advise just we have all been there and we know what torture it is, and feel free to let off steam here xx

@OnNaturesCourse I was knackered for the first couple of weeks. Looking back it was the first sign for me xxx

SnookyPook · 21/04/2024 19:32

Thanks everyone! Yes it's definitely reassuring feeling movements although brings its own worries of 'are they moving enough?' 'why've I not felt them for a while' etc etc!!

@30somethingttc I guess it's one of those things that's a bit different for everyone but from what I've heard, most first time mums aren't sure at the start. This is my second pregnancy to get to this stage and I still doubted it initially. At the start it's very easy to confuse them for gas or just convince yourself it must be something else. As time goes on it becomes more certain and there's nothing else it could be (especially when you feel them on the outside! Still not happening regularly for me yet but can't wait 🥰) It's such a special feeling and definitely makes Baby more real.
