I got my 12 weeks scan appointment through today. 3 weeks on Monday. That doesn't seem to far away. I've felt like my symptoms have eased the last few days but I'm super bloated right now and I've got some cramping still so I'm taking that as a good sign?!

HRP1990 · 07/02/2024 19:29

My scan is 4 weeks today! Should be 12+6.. Can’t come soon enough 🥳

Is bloating a good sign? I'm massively bloated right now and hoping that's a sign everything is growing rather than an MMC...

hol92 · 07/02/2024 19:51

Jacket with cheese, marmite on toast or margarita thin pizza... all I have eaten for weeks and I'm staring at the potato now because I can't bare the thought of it but at the same time it's the only thing I can eat without gagging, so confusing 🤣

siobhanmt247 · 07/02/2024 20:00

@bouncingblob its a sign hormones are still affecting you so I think it counts as a symptom (maybe wishful thinking on my part though)

Starlight11111 · 07/02/2024 20:24

@rupertbear91 best of luck with your scan tomorrow.

I've managed to find an NIPT inclusive of scan close ish by for £294, and I'm very tempted. Has anyone ever had one as early as 10 weeks and a few days? Is anybody going to go for one?

@MudandMoet I don't blame you waiting as it's only a few weeks and you're right, some clinics charge extortionate amounts, given it's a blood test!!!

MudandMoet · 07/02/2024 20:32

Hi @Nic17 are you far from me (I'm Derbyshire)? I think for that price if it was close ish I'd go as well as wait for my 13 week appointment.

SC126 · 07/02/2024 20:36

@MudandMoet im Derbyshire too. Well Derbyshire/Cheshire border. I've seen them around £290. I've never heard of them before now though. Clearly wasn't a big thing 6 years ago when I was preggo last. I don't think I'll bother with it as its such a big expense. I'm going to pay for a private gender scan at 16 weeks though.

Starlight11111 · 07/02/2024 21:33

@MudandMoet unfortunately not, outer London is where I've found the place offering for £294. Xxx

It really has been a week @californiacooper ! Mine’s at half 7. Will be thinking of you, just keep rowing 🤞🏼

Kate543 · 07/02/2024 22:15

Nipt here is around £350, I am hanging on to see if I fall under high risk after combined screen because then it is available on the nhs but will go private if not :)

I have my nhs scan on Monday and the scanxiety has already started kicking in 😬

is anyone else getting really bad sickness at night? My sleep is just terrible because of it

Xur · 07/02/2024 22:34

Hmm..I showed my belly to my friend who has one child under two and her reaction was “omg 😳”. She said When she was at my progression her belly was not as big as mine. My spouse was looking at my belly aswell today evening. Is it just me or is anyone else also surprised over their bellies?

californiacooper · 07/02/2024 23:51

@Decaffe oh I didn't know we could get gifs in here!
Good luck tomorrow. Mine's 11... hopefully can sleep a bit tonight

MrsM89 · 08/02/2024 07:02

@Xur I'm on my third child but honestly I looks closer to 20weeks than 9.i feel huge. Xx

Bakerbean · 08/02/2024 07:04

Morning everyone, just catching up after a busy couple of days. Thank you to everyone who replied about their blood results and others with increased white blood cell count. I’ve decided not to worry about any of it as, like someone else said, if they were concerned they would contact me.

@Knope24 I am with you with the constant stuffy nose and frequent nosebleeds! I’ve had the stuffy nose all the way since New Years - I was convinced I was getting ill at the beginning but now I realise it’s just another symptom of pregnancy! Mad! 😅

MrsB2019x · 08/02/2024 07:50

Is anyone unable to get on Badger Notes? Been having this pop up since yesterday afternoon 😒

HRP1990 · 08/02/2024 07:53

@MrsB2019x yes! Have you tried uninstalling and installing? I used badger notes with my daughter and it was so temperamental then, and still is now lol

Decaffe · 08/02/2024 08:03

Morning everyone, I’ve been awake since 3:30, I couldn’t get back to sleep 😩 Good news, scan was all ok, measuring exactly in line with my dates at 7+3. I’m pleased but it’s not sinking in just yet as I feel so tired and such a hectic work day ahead of me! All I want to do is go home and go back to bed! 😅

@californiacooper will be thinking of you at 11.

@tierneytarny so pleased for you. I hope you and DH made up!?

Emmaev · 08/02/2024 08:14

Good luck to all who have scans today!

Amazing news @Decaffe i had a scan the other day and I still get moments of am I really pregnant, is this all real?

My belly is massive @Xur I’m only 10 weeks but I look so much further along. First it was all the bloating, now I think it maybe all the food I’ve been eating. I’m just gonna go with the fact it’s 2nd baby and DD stretched my belly muscles out!

MrsM89 · 08/02/2024 08:15

@Decaffe great news. Lovely to get the scan done early so not worrying about it all day.

Got my midwife booking in today and then second epau scan tomorrow.

Those with other children. When are you planning to to tell them? And are you doing anything exciting to tell them?

When I was expecting my DD, DS was 3 and we gave him a gift of a scan picture - two teddies, big brother tshirt and baby vest. But now I have an 8 and 4 year old I don't know what to do to tell them.

HRP1990 · 08/02/2024 08:36

I’d love to know this too @MrsM89! my daughter is 2 next month so I feel she’s a little too young still. I’m thinking maybe getting her a few books to read about having a baby brother/sister? I don’t think she’d understand just telling her!?

californiacooper · 08/02/2024 08:39

I've been wondering how you got on! Ive been awake since 4 as well. And I've got work until about 7 tonight 😭😭
So pleased all is looking okay for you!!! Did you see the heartbeat?

MudandMoet · 08/02/2024 08:41

@SC126 ahh I'm around 25 mins from Bakewell so not too far away I bet then! I'll have another word with DH and see if he thinks we should go anyway. If so and it's okay I'll DM you for the place if that's okay.

Great news @Decaffe ... I'm with you with roll on bedtime, I can't sleep for trying too.

I've definitely got a little bloated bump thing going on too! I wear quite oversized clothes thankfully so my family won't notice and if they did, they will think I've overindulged at Christmas.

siobhanmt247 · 08/02/2024 08:48

@MrsM89 i have a 14 month old and want to take her to a private gender reveal scan where they do lights and everything. I doubt she will understand much but hopefully she will a little bit

WolfMother326 · 08/02/2024 09:11

Congratulations @Decaffe that's such a relief!

I have a scan at the EPU this morning and booking appointment tomorrow, fingers crossed today goes OK. I'm starting to feel in the safe zone but also worried I'm taking that for granted.

About telling children, my DS will be just 3 when the baby is born. He's coming to a private scan with us but I'm going to let him watch a show and ask the sonographer not to say the word baby! I don't think he'll figure it out but it's ok if he does. I think we want to officially tell him a bit further along, maybe when it's obvious that my body is changing. Might do something like get a special book.
