@Decaffe best of luck for your scan tomorrow! I’m 7+3 and my symptoms lessened in the past 48 hours. While it’s nice to feel human again, it’s somewhat worrying. Hopefully you’ll get some reassurance tomorrow!

longingtobe23 · 07/02/2024 10:15

All but my tiredness has vanished! Not complaining but it is very weird to not have symptoms.

I sometimes still have my bowel issues too but I will take that over sickness. I had that badly with my first so I sympathise with you all suffering out there!

I had a check up following the brownish bloody tissues and all was fine, in fact my dates caught up I heard heartbeat and I am way more relaxed.
However, I’m still only 7+2 and I found out Jan 10th so it feels like forever 🥵 when will time speed up!!!

californiacooper · 07/02/2024 10:28

@Theflyingfreckle I'm so sorry you are experiencing this, it must be so hard not knowing, hoping for a good result

@Decaffe we are literally in the same boat, I think we have one oar each. What time is your scan??? Mine is 11. My bloating has gone. My boobs aren't hurting that much really. I thought I felt a bit sick yesterday but I seen to be okay today. I keep thinking about my little circle with the white flash at the side and hoping something has happened in a week. It's been a long week, hasn't it?!

Megan004 · 07/02/2024 10:32

@Theflyingfreckle so sorry to read that, sounds really worrying and stressful for you. Sending lots of love x

Megan004 · 07/02/2024 10:49

@Honeyandsunshine1 yeah so my plan is to just avoid my family for the foreseeable and rock up with a newborn in September 😂 kidding, I plan to tell them once we’ve had the 12 week scan all being well 🤞🏼 funny enough I also have 2 boys, and the first thing my closest friend said was ooooh I hope it’s a girl! So I’m expecting to receive the same comments 😆

My scan is not booked in until I’m 13 weeks which is feeling like an eternity of waiting! God knows how I’ve lasted this long waiting in all honesty 😂

The midwife at my booking appointment gave me a due date of 28th of August but I had estimated 2nd of September, giving her the same date of last period that I worked it out with. Strange - be nice to get a more accurate due date at the scan!

Ihavenamechanged987 · 07/02/2024 11:27

Hi, can I join please? I’m 6 weeks and 6 days with baby number four! I feel like I’m completely insane, this is definitely the final baby. I’m too scared to tell anyone in real life yet. I have no idea how my mum is going to react! 😂 I haven’t even registered with the midwife which I feel guilty about because around here the booking in appointment happens at 8 weeks.

Im really torn on whether to book a scan for the next week or so. It just doesn’t feel real at the moment and I’m wondering if seeing what’s going on in there will help.

Emmaev · 07/02/2024 11:29

@Theflyingfreckle so sorry you’re going through this, it’s always the not knowing and the limbo which is the worst bit. Thinking of you

My symptoms have definitely decreased after I hit 9 weeks, I was worrying as it happened right before my scan, but all seemed well. I’m guessing it’s just the placenta kicking in and hormones leveling out, although my rosacea has really flared up

Xur · 07/02/2024 11:32

@Decaffe @californiacooper
my dear ladies, symptoms come and go day by day. The further you go down the line the more you loose track over which day you had symptoms and which day you didn’t!

I don’t feel pregnant really…I am 9 weeks 3 days in. My midwife said she didn’t feel pregnant at all until 16 weeks either. My only constant pregnancy reminder is how often I want to eat.
and on top of that I’ve had 3 scans already, all of them have been good and healthy news and still, next week after each scan I get the doubts in my head creeping over like a dark veil.
please be reminded your mind is playing tricks on you (I know it sounds crazy, but we are all guilty of this)
🧡💜💚

rupertbear91 · 07/02/2024 11:39

Hi everyone had a few days away as been back in the EPU for some more brown bleeding. Cervix is still closed so booked to go back for another scan tomorrow. More nervous for this than I was my first scan incase there has been no growth

MrsB2019x · 07/02/2024 11:52

I’m glad some of you have said your symptoms are disappearing too as I’ve felt pretty much normal for 2/3 days!

Will be thinking of you @rupertbear91 @Theflyingfreckle and hoping for good news!

tierneytarny · 07/02/2024 12:50

My husband has been told he has to work away on Friday and so we’ve had to rearrange our scan for this afternoon. I am really nervous after last week. It doesn’t help that we’re currently not speaking either (could be hormones but I prefer that he’s being out of order).

MudandMoet · 07/02/2024 13:53

@Honeyandsunshine1 I spoke to my midwife about this yesterday as mine is exactly on 13 weeks. She said it's still okay for the tests then. She also told me that I would get the NIPT for free if my levels come back high (I think they will because I'm over 40) We were going to book at a clinic for next weekend for a private NIPT but seeing as it's just two weeks after we've decided to hold out and save the £700!

Welcome to the group @Ihavenamechanged987 🥳

Good luck all who have scans today and over the next few days. I hope you get the reassurance you want ❤️🤞🏼

tierneytarny · 07/02/2024 14:40

A much better experience this week though the little pip is still measuring behind. I asked the sonographer and she said it was nothing to worry about. There was a lovely strong heart beat and the yolk sac was a good shape. I’m relieved.

My due date has vern pushed in to October but I know I ovulated on 03/01 so I cannot see how that would be possible!

Xur · 07/02/2024 14:54

@tierneytarny I’m happy for you!
dates can be pushed based on the speed in which the baby is growing.
when I went for the scan where my shrimp was said to be one day behind the sonographer estimated due date 09/09 -11/09.. my original due date is 09/09, but that is I think also based on a 28 cycle, whereas my cycle is 24-25 days. So whatever they have set it to is probably not going to be accurate anyway.

tierneytarny · 07/02/2024 15:01

@Xur I'm so relieved; I’d braced myself for the worst but the lovely little flicker was there and I could just relax.

I have a cycle between 23 and 26 days so I’m assuming it’s a good bit out. Doing the maths, by their dates I found out I was pregnant 4 days after I fell pregnant (which of course we know is impossible). I’m going to relax now and just enjoy the journey.

I’m so flipping excited!

Kate543 · 07/02/2024 15:26

@tierneytarny wonderful news I am so pleased for you! 😁

MudandMoet · 07/02/2024 15:37

@tierneytarny if they keep the October date and don't change it at your 12 week scan it'll be interesting to see if your baby comes slightly early (because like you say you know when you ovulated and they can't be right with those dates, surely) x

I bet the percentage of babies actually arriving on their due date is very rare, I think nowadays they only let you go a week over though (?)

siobhanmt247 · 07/02/2024 15:50

Congratulations @tierneytarny :)

tierneytarny · 07/02/2024 16:03

@MudandMoet It’ll be interesting to see. This is my third and every time I’ve had a 12 week scan my dates have been pulled forward. The midwife will leave my EDD based on my LMP at booking in I assume but I’m excited for my 12 week scan to see what my EDD will be then.

I’ve moved the date on my app back to October so that I’m not disappointed later on if this is right and my body did some crazy things in January 🤣

tierneytarny · 07/02/2024 16:40

I’ve just been comparing with my early scans with my other children and my due dates have been pulled forward by the NHS by 10 days (which matches when I think I’m due!).

bouncingblob · 07/02/2024 17:19

Theflyingfreckle · 07/02/2024 00:01

Very overwhelmed right now... went in for my first scan today. Should be at 8 weeks +1 but only measuring at 5 weeks. They have me coming in again on Thursday so they can do an HCG comparison. Doctor said she's concerned about a psuedo-sac based on my scan. Will know either way later this week but I'm very scared, can't stop crying

Same thing happened to me. Went in at 8 weeks based on LMP (though figured it was around 7 weeks as ovulated late) and they only saw a yolk sac and gestational sac measuring 5 weeks 4 days. No fetal pole noted.

Going back this weekend for scan no 2. Nervous but trying to stay positive. Wishing you all the best of luck!

Lillers · 07/02/2024 17:23

New nausea trigger - the washing machine making the floor vibrate 😂😭

Holy sheeet, they’re retailing around £700?! I didn’t realise they were that much. For some reason, I thought around £200. Christ yeah, what a delightful saving you’ll have on your hands there. Thanks for the info too. I was worried that it was a bit too close to the 13+6 they advertise as the cut off? But I guess it’s still before so should be ok. How many weeks are you now? When is your scan? It must be soon! 😍

😭🤣 no but this is genuinely my approach with a vast majority of my friends. Apart from the 3 I’ve told, I’m just waiting until I see the others throughout the year. Some I won’t see until summer probably as you know what adult friendships are like, so I’ll just rock up like… oh, hi 🤰🏻😎 hahaha.

How old are your two now? You do think the girl comments wil bother you? I feel like they piss me off more than they should. We’re keeping the gender a surprise so probably our own fault 😂 I just think it’s so rude to say “hope” like, hello, another boy is not a problem for me. In fact, a boy would make my life a lot easier 😻

MudandMoet · 07/02/2024 19:12

@Honeyandsunshine1 I'm 11 weeks tomorrow!! Like wtaf?!! I'm sure this is all some weird dream most days. My scan is 2 weeks tomorrow. DH is coming to this next one so I'm super excited, though very anxious about the blood results that will follow.

I'm not sure if the prices vary greatly from clinic to clinic but each one I looked at was around £700 with the follow up consultation and scan and test xx
