Has anyone else had their blood results from their booking in appointment? I’ve got mine this morning and have high white blood cell count and high ‘Neutrophils Absolute’ (whatever this is?!).

High white blood cells freak me out every time as this was all part of my cancer diagnoses years ago, so quite triggering, but I’ve read that it can be very normal in pregnancy. Anyone else?!

I received mine a few days after my appointment (I’m 10 weeks now so had it a few weeks ago) I will post screenshots of some of them, if they help? X

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow i think these thoughts are absolutely normal. I'm having our 3rd too and do have concerns the impact on our 2 children. Tbh I think that's just being a good parent thinking about the impact on them.
I was pregnant last year and I had these doubts creep in too, but then miscarried and I felt so awful for even doubting anything. But it's 100% natural. Hormones play with your head as well.

Equally if it's something you feel you need to talk to a professional about, seek help my lovely. X

Honeyandsunshine1 · 06/02/2024 13:06

I have really high “eosinophils” and low “heamatocrit”. Whatever the feck they mean 🤣
I think the former is to do with allergies/allergic reactions in the body? I do have an allergy to dust that affects me badly and currently have active eczema so I reckon that could be it? No idea though, not managed to speak to a midwife about them yet 🥲

@Honeyandsunshine1 how are yours so specific and in depth and good!? I’ll show you mine this is literally all I got. It’s fuck all there (pardon my French). I feel like I’ve been sold a donkey with my blood results.

Hi ladies, just been catching up on the thread. Hope everyone’s doing ok! I think someone asked for the link to the FB group a few pages back, so here it is (hope this works). It’s a private/hidden group so no one will be able to see you’ve joined!

Is anyone else struggling with dry heaving/gagging without any actual nausea?! Like my stomach feels completely settled, but I constantly feel like I want to wretch! It’s awful!

Hi all! Haven't been regularly posting here but just wanted to check if anyone has had a bleed and yet seen a HB ? I've had a red bleeding like a period for a few days, went to the EPU and baby was measuring fine with a HB! I can't seem to shake off the feeling though as I'm still bleeding quite a bit. Just wondered if anyone was in the same boat :/

SC126 · 06/02/2024 13:55

I went to gp today to finally admit that I need some medication to help with the nausea. I cried naturally as I am full of extra hormones and my son kept me up last night so was exhausted. Got some anti sickness to use and they signed me off work for 2 weeks. So feeling a big relief.

Xur · 06/02/2024 14:07

@MrsC2024 yeah me, I have that. It’s not constant though. Comes and goes through the day. Weird.

MudandMoet · 06/02/2024 14:15

Oh @Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow I don't think you need to apologise for writing this, every single post on here is valid and I'm sure you're not the first to think those things. I've wanted this baby for 20+ years (though only been trying 3) and even I have moments of... shit! How am I gonna cope! What if I regret it, my life's going to be turned upside down, blah blah! Please don't feel alone, it's so natural to have wobbles with something so life changing. Don't make any rushed decisions for now, your hormones will be all over the place so give yourself extra time to think things through. I'm sure a little extra one would nestle in lovely with your family and you're just thinking of the negatives a little too much right now (like I said I definitely go through these stages and DH talks me back into some sense) xxx

WolfMother326 · 06/02/2024 16:10

@MudandMoet thanks the first couple of days went well and I got more sleep last night! It's only 2 days a week in person (teaching) but I'm seeing the same groups every week so I definitely need to get new clothes sooner rather than later. I was thinking of getting some summer maternity dresses and just layering with cardigans, tights, scarves etc. This is my 2nd baby so expect I'll probably start showing a bit earlier and last time I showed at 16 weeks, which is not very far away really! Currently scrolling vinted...

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow I am really worried about how we'll cope with a 2nd baby as we have no family help at all, but I hope we'll get through it ok. My husband is very worried about it all. I'm also worried about how my son will react as he's always been the centre of everything and he's so incredibly attached to me. I think it will be a big difficult adjustment phase but in the long run it's worth it.

I'm not sure who posted about nausea first (seems to be a running topic!) but after 2 weeks of very little I'm feeling so sick today.

Looking forward to my EPU scan on Thursday, hope all is still OK and then booking appointment on Friday. I might do the NIPT test this weekend as I'd like to have the results back by 12 week scan (not scheduled yet). Has anyone done an NIPT test for this pregnancy so far? I did one Harmony last time but it's no longer offered. Not sure which test to do.

californiacooper · 06/02/2024 16:26

Guys!! I am feeling a bit nauseous! 😮‍💨
I'm kind of relieved. I was thinking it should have started by now and was worried my little bean had stopped growing, but I am sure I feel a bit sicky today. Just wait for me to be moaning about it tomorrow 🤣🤣

Cinai · 06/02/2024 16:27

What’s actually the difference between a NIPT and a Harmony test? Would you do both ideally, or just one of these?

WolfMother326 · 06/02/2024 16:33

@Cinai NIPT is the type of test (non invasive prenatal testing). Harmony was one brand/service that processed this type of test in its lab but now you can't get that one.

Cinai · 06/02/2024 16:50

Thanks @WolfMother326

Lillers · 06/02/2024 17:01

I’ve had the most horrible bloating today - really painful. I wasn’t able to eat much breakfast (literally just 4 grapes and a ginger biscuit) so it’s probably related to that.

In one breakthrough though, I’ve found that sucking on mint imperials really helps with the nausea during the day. It’s good because that’s something I can have even while I’m teaching.

Cat2022 · 06/02/2024 17:05

@Xur thats what mines like too bloody badger notes is crap. Last time I googled each individual thing to see what it was and the normal range but can’t be bothered to this time as I guess if anything was off they would tell me.

HRP1990 · 06/02/2024 18:02

@Honeyandsunshine1 @Bakerbean i just had a look at all my info on the badger notes app and I think I have similar for my white blood count. I’ve attached the notes.. not sure if they assuming I have an infection or it’s just a generalised response?

californiacooper · 06/02/2024 18:35

Hey everyone hope you've had a good day, can I ask what this badger notes is I keep hearing about??

HRP1990 · 06/02/2024 18:42

@californiacooper it’s what some hospitals use to access your maternity notes. It’s literally an app with all your info - bloods, scans, history etc. Depending on where you live, here we either have badger notes or they’re actual paper notes!

Xur · 06/02/2024 18:43

@californiacooper badger notes is an app that several NHS surgeries use as a pregnancy app. You can access information relating to your pregnancy there, NHS leaflets, test results. And you should also be able to chat with your midwife through it. The app is activated for you by your midwife.

MudandMoet · 06/02/2024 19:00

I have 'my pregnancy notes' is this the equivalent of badger notes does anyone know? I can't see where all that info is about blood results though if it is?

siobhanmt247 · 06/02/2024 19:44

@MudandMoet yes it's is. I'm on that one. You have to click through a lot of menu options but you should be able to see consultations and investigations

GeorgieRose23 · 06/02/2024 19:55

Ladies, I told my employer I’m pregnant today I’m only 6 weeks and it’s very early I just thought honesty was the best policy. I get married in 4 weeks and I’m 30 years old. Their response was to ask if it was planned. And I can’t help overthinking it all.

Im scared to tell other people incase that’s what they think?

Sorry I’m probably just over emotional but it’s really upskittled me

Knope24 · 06/02/2024 20:02

@MrsC2024 yes I have the retching too! Last time I was pregnant there was still a lot of face mask use which was handy to cover it up in public. Brushing my teeth really triggers it too.

One of my most annoying symptoms is a constantly blocked nose and nosebleeds which happened for the entire nine months last time. Think it's something to do with the increased volume of blood and general secretions in your body 😅 Isn't pregnant magical

Cinai · 06/02/2024 20:12

@GeorgieRose23 that’s shocking, really unprofessional of them.
