@californiacooper I mean I am still in utter disbelief that that happened to you. Absolutely crazy.

I’m in the mindset of what will be will be; hopefully we’ll see a little bean and a nice little heartbeat.

Three days will fly by!

Lillers · 06/02/2024 06:28

After abating slightly yesterday, nausea is back with a vengeance this morning. Could barely even get a ginger biscuit down to try to calm it and everything is making me gag. Can’t wait for a day teaching teenagers that all smell of either sweat, farts or body spray 😭

Xur · 06/02/2024 07:13

Yeah I spoke too soon, after successfully dodging nausea attacks for the last few days..today morning I’m retching.

VT6 · 06/02/2024 07:19

There must be something in the waters today then as I spoke too soon yesterday aswell! I had the world’s worst sleep & woke up feeling so sick!
slowly eating some breakfast but it’s really not helping 🫣

HRP1990 · 06/02/2024 07:23

My nausea is under control thank god, however my daughter has bought home the cough of all coughs from nursery. You know the proper chesty ones? Now I’ve got it of course lol and it proper hurts my stomach to cough - I know it’s not doing any damage but not ideal 😕

Cinai · 06/02/2024 07:24

It’s the other way round for me, sick as a dog yesterday all night and morning, but feeling fine so far today.

Wanderlust86 · 06/02/2024 07:31

I'm not far off 10 weeks and nausea has peaked. I almost fainted at work yesterday. Nobody questioned it though as we all feel rough after our night shifts. I read that week 9 is often the worst so I'm hoping it will ease off soon. I also never know what to eat, I don't want anything so end up eating crap just to have something.

Bakerbean · 06/02/2024 08:26

Sounds like lots of us are on the struggle bus this morning! I’m in week 9 and the fatigue has hit me like a tonne of bricks, I am so tired. Anyone else? The nausea also still just continues to linger for me. A lot of the time it’s like a really hungry feeling sick, but at the same time it feels like I’ve got a block of food sat right at the top of my stomach just waiting to come up.

For the first time so far, I’m actually feeling a little bit sorry for myself today 😆. I don’t know how I’m going to manage another 12 hour work day on my feet again.

Lillers · 06/02/2024 08:30

I hate that so many people are struggling, but it also feels so nice to know I’m not on my own! We can get through this!

Bakerbean · 06/02/2024 08:35

@Lillers it’ll be the most worthwhile 9 months of ups and downs we’ll ever experience. We’ve got this! 💪🏼

Bakerbean · 06/02/2024 08:38

Has anyone else had their blood results from their booking in appointment? I’ve got mine this morning and have high white blood cell count and high ‘Neutrophils Absolute’ (whatever this is?!).

High white blood cells freak me out every time as this was all part of my cancer diagnoses years ago, so quite triggering, but I’ve read that it can be very normal in pregnancy. Anyone else?!

MudandMoet · 06/02/2024 08:48

@Bakerbean have you contacted them for the results or have they been in touch with you? I had mine at my booking in appointment 3.5 weeks ago and haven't given them a second thought but wondering now if I should have rang about them? Sorry you have the high white blood cell count. Ring them if you're worried xx

siobhanmt247 · 06/02/2024 08:52

@Bakerbean i know google isn't always the best but I found this. Hope it puts your mind at ease

Hi everyone!

Congratulations on all of your pregnancies! I’ve been a lurker on this thread for a while, but apprehensive of joining due to a previous loss.

I am now 9 + 6 and yesterday we saw little bean moving and shaking around during a private scan and it’s put my mind at ease. How amazing it is seeing your babe for the first time!

I also had a booking in appointment yesterday with my midwife who said due to previous pre-eclampsia and premature labour of my daughter I’ll be high risk. Has anyone else been high risk or are high risk in this pregnancy and know what it entails?

It all feel very real now!

siobhanmt247 · 06/02/2024 09:02

Congratulations @Emmaev it depends what you're seeing a consultant for but you normally have your first appointment with them at about 6 weeks and you'll see them regularly through. You might get some extra scans too

Kofifi · 06/02/2024 09:03

Had my scan today! Measuring at 7 weeks (a few days behind but i expected that as my cycles are long). Saw the heart pumping away!

Emmaev · 06/02/2024 09:06

@siobhanmt247 thanks so much!

my midwife said I’d have to take aspirin from 12 weeks which I knew as my sister had to take it. And she did mention more scans from 28 weeks onwards due to the severity of my pre eclampsia in later pregnancy with my daughter. I understood it to just mean more monitoring and scans which is very welcome to ease the anxiety.

Xur · 06/02/2024 10:15

@Emmaev welcome to thread! Congratulations 🥳

@Bakerbean I got my blood results back and I read about the white blood cells. Yeah what someone else posted about them being higher it is true. If you notice during pregnancy you might have an increased discharge from the vagina, it can be white or transparent. Turns out a majority of the contents in there are white blood cells.
Mine were to be honest not that high, but I never had too many white blood cells (usually less than the norm) when I recall my previous blood results from some years ago. Now even they are increased but they are below what they say the average threshold in pregnancy is.

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 06/02/2024 10:20

I had a scan this morning. Measuring 6+4 rather than 7 weeks which makes sense as I’m pretty sure I ovulated on day 16 (which would make me 6+5). Strong heartbeat fluttering away, and only one baby, though apparently I ovulated from
both ovaries so it could have been twins.

I’m so sorry if this offends or upsets anyone but I’m really really struggling with this pregnancy and whether it’s right to go ahead. It was unplanned and I have 2 DC already. I’ve started to really panic about stretching my time and finances too thin with a third and whether it is going to benefit my existing children or actually harm them. Im not sure if this is a normal wobble or just rational thought kicking in. I was awake all last night crying and I don’t know what to do. DH is supportive either way but feels like the decision is all on me.

Emmaev · 06/02/2024 10:27

@Bakerbean I think high white blood cells in pregnancy is quite common. I had a test 4 weeks ago and the doctor remarked that my white blood cells were high and that my sample will be sent off and if It was a concern she’d contact me which she never did so I assumed all was good.

My midwife also said yesterday my white blood cells were high and that I may have a uti which I’ve had no symptoms for, so she said not to worry and it was common, so I’ve not been that concerned.

siobhanmt247 · 06/02/2024 10:35

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow im so sorry you're feeling like that. I'm a change manager in engineering so not quite the same but one of the first things I learnt is that any change can be difficult and wobbles are likely. I will say I don't think I've ever spoken to anyone who said they've regretted having another whenbtheyve had concerns like that. They all say it's worth it. Have you shared your concerns with your partner?

Lillers · 06/02/2024 11:30

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow Don’t apologise - we’re a safe space to talk about how you feel. I have no advice, but there was a thread on here a couple of days ago from someone in a similar position. Some of the replies were from people with experience one way or the other - I can’t remember what the thread was called but it might be worth looking for.

Honeyandsunshine1 · 06/02/2024 12:35

Hey guys, I’m a week late but thank you all for the replies to my sob story. I feel much better now! I feel like a lot of the hormones have dropped off and I feel a bit more human now. Although I struggled to get my username back so had to have this one with a 1 🤣 hope you’re all ok. I’m 10+1 today 🥳🥳🥳

Omg, you sound like you’re in the same boat as I was the other day. 3rd pregnancy here too. I have been finding my 4 year old and 2 year old particularly challenging behaviour-wise and we had a discussion whether we could actually cope with a third. Laid in bed wondering whether this is a selfish move or not. Please don’t feel shame for feeling like this, but feel free to private message me if you don’t feel comfortable writing publicly but just know I’m right with you ❤️

MrsB2019x · 06/02/2024 12:55

Just got back from my booking appointment, midwife didn’t even weigh me which was a massive relief 😅 I am high risk for multiple factors so will be consultant led again I think. It definitely make it sink in that I’m having another baby!!

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow Don’t apologise we’re all here for you. I think wobbles are normal for sure but if it gets past the point of a wobble maybe you’ll need to seek some advice. I’m not sure if BPAS might be able to talk things through with you?
