Thanks so much all, my MW was a locum so that's perhaps why I don't have one. I'll ring and get one booked in a couple of weeks for around the 16 week mark xx

@WolfMother326 I have been looking but trying to hold off on dresses until it gets a little warmer, I do have a fair few floaty summer dresses so hoping they still fit when needed. I'm living in M&S jeggings because nothing else fits trousers wise already. Pleased it went well, hopefully a better night tonight x

My nausea hasn’t been as bad today, thank goodness. I was back at work and so I don’t know whether it was because I was distracted and couldn’t obsess about food/nausea, or potentially because I actually couldn’t eat whenever I wanted to. The pattern I’ve been falling into over the last week is during the morning when I can eat, I’ve been eating as much as I can and then feeling awful for the rest of the day. Today I only had a short break mid-morning for a quick snack, and then had a little bit of my lunch at lunchtime. So on the one hand, not good to not be eating enough, but on the other, good to not be stuffing myself to point of nausea 😂.

@siobhanmt247 and @Sydney1988 I'm pleased your booking appts went well! Mine lasted an hour, very thorough and overall went very well. Aside from BMI no other risk factors but will still be consultant led. It was really nice to chat about being pregnant for an hour.

Got my follow up scan on Wednesday and I'm tentatively excited based on how I'm feeling! Xx

I have a little belly now (!)…but I don’t feel pregnant whenever I don’t have obvious symptoms.
my eating habits changed, I eat way more now. I’m wondering when people at work will pick up on that. Normally I would have a breakfast at work and then a lunch in about 4 hours and then maybe a small snack later (in form of some nuts or fruit or yoghurt).
Just to give you a perspective….
I had oat granola with Greek yoghurt and banana for breakfast.
Then I had a nut protein bar. (About an hour later)
then another 1,5 hours later I had my spinach pasta and an apple.
Then another hour later I had a stuffed pancake (my colleague made some and brought some for me)
then about 2 more hours later I had cottage cheese with cherry tomatoes and black bread and an actimel.
Like…what? This is the thing all these stuff does not leave your body quickly, it’s a bunch of protein and slow digested fibre. Like what..how am I eating such food and so often. 😒

@Cinai in my last pregnancy it felt quite bad weeks 6-10 but then it pretty much disappeared overnight around Week 10! I couldn't believe it, I just woke up one morning feeling completely normal and was able to eat normally/wanted coffee and all the things i couldn't stomach. It worried me slightly, but all was fine. I went on holiday at Week 14 and was able to eat whatever i felt like, and felt quite energetic. I then felt pretty good in pregnancy until the last few weeks when my back got sore. Hoping it's just a few weeks for you too (and for myself this time round again!)

Lillers · 05/02/2024 17:54

@Xur In terms of people at work picking up on things - a couple of people today noticed my acupressure wristbands and another noticed that I was drinking peppermint tea. I don’t know if they put 2+2 together!

HRP1990 · 05/02/2024 18:09

I can’t wait to have an appetite like that again @Xur I admire how healthy it all is aswell!

I ate similar pre pregnancy and hoping to get the stomach for it again soon 🤞🏻

Queijo · 05/02/2024 18:21

Just catching up - glad everyone’s booking appointments have gone well.

Is anyone else having extreme food aversions? I have to force myself to eat because the thought of anything is making me feel sick. I’ll have maybe 5 minutes of really fancying something, and if I don’t eat it right away it immediately turns my stomach. Driving me potty!

MrsB2019x · 05/02/2024 18:29

@Lillers A colleague of mine found out too by noticing my wristbands up the floaty sleeves of my dress 🙈 they’re not subtle are they!

Glad your booking appointments went well @siobhanmt247 @Nic17 , mine is tomorrow and I’m absolutely dreading getting weighed 😢 I haven’t been weighed since the day after I had DD 2.5 years ago. My BMI was 30.5 at booking with her and I know I’ve put on a lot of weight since then ☹️

Sydney1988 · 05/02/2024 18:30

@siobhanmt247 Yes my first! Sooo thorough. Plus my veins were not playing ball so had a few attempts for the blood test 🤢 @Nic17 Totally agree RE chatting about being pregnant - all feeling very real! I have my second private scan on Friday, will be 8+5. Just for reassurance. There is one dangerously close to my house, and they were absolutely brilliant when I went at 7 weeks. @MudandMoet my midwife made my appt for 16 weeks during today’s session. Also gave me her mobile number and she’s already answered a question I had. Couldn’t be more helpful!

Starlight11111 · 05/02/2024 18:37

@MrsB2019x my BMI at booking today was 37, not helped by being a short arse, but regardless, midwife barely blinked an eye, just ran through extra offerings as BMI over 35. One of those is extra scans after 28weeks, which if I get that far I'm sure I'll love.

@Sydney1988 we must be matching dates at the moment as mine on Wednesday should be 8+3 :) got everything crossed for us xx

siobhanmt247 · 05/02/2024 18:41

@MrsB2019x i think you can request that they don't talk to you about your weight if you're really uncomfortable about it so that might be an option

Sydney1988 · 05/02/2024 18:43

@Nic17 Omg lol - my brain has obviously given up for the day 🫠 I am actually 9 weeks on Wed, so will be 9+2 during my scan on Fri. I was dated two days ahead last time, but sticking to my original dates as I’m sure things will move around! Will be thinking of you on Wed ☺️

Lillers · 05/02/2024 19:08

@MrsB2019x Not subtle at all - especially seeing as mine are bright pink 😂

californiacooper · 05/02/2024 19:12

I'm going to try and check in a bit more throughout the day so I don't miss as much!

@Kofifi I feel a bit the same, I just can't quite believe that everything could possibly be okay. I'm just not that lucky 🍀

@Xur I'm definitely eating more at the moment, I think partly it's because I'm thinking "oh fuck it I'm not going to be thin this summer there's no point trying to diet now" 🤣

@Queijo food aversions... kinda hope that stars soon to counter the food scoffing I've been doing ...

Congrats everyone on the booking appointments, it must be feeling a bit more real now that the authorities know and have you all signed up on their records!

I still don't have one of those booked yet but I guess that the EPU will direct me with what I need to do if all goes well on Thursday.

Also I have a confession. I presume that this is only me.., I'm still peeing on sticks (I got a pack of 20 from Amazon alright 🫣) I know that even if no further development was happening the HCG wouldn't fall quickly anyway but I'm trying to tell whether the test line is getting darker, I presume that there's a limit to how much it can show. I just hate the unknown and this is the only thing that I can do 🤣

siobhanmt247 · 05/02/2024 19:15

@californiacooper im 8 weeks and still take a test occasionally if I don't think I've got enough symptoms. We can be crazy together :)

californiacooper · 05/02/2024 19:24

@siobhanmt247 🥰 that makes me feel better. I've got them all neatly lined up 🤣
I've told myself if i see a heart beating on the scan on Thursday then I'll stop (I think I'll run out by then anyway)

Xur · 05/02/2024 19:24

Regarding nausea me and my friends theorised today, out of all of us the ones who’s had good iron levels at the start of the pregnancy, we have less pregnancy nausea compared to the ones with low iron.
can any of you relate?

Lillers · 05/02/2024 19:28

@Xur I’m not sure - I was taking the pregnacare pre-conception vits for a few months before falling pregnant so while I never tested my iron levels, they should have been good already and I’ve had terrible nausea.

tierneytarny · 05/02/2024 20:14

@californiacooper im still testing. Not every day but every few days. It’s provided some comfort after last week (and a complete dye stealer on a FRER on Friday which made me feel better) and I did another weeks indicator. I’ve never got a 3+ ina my of my pregnancies (maybe because I stopped testing earlier) but I have got it this pregnancy so my HCG is still rising.

Booked another scan for Friday with a different company as I have remembered some more bonkers moments from the scan last week - the sonographer thought I was someone else who was 21 weeks, she mentioned an implantation bleed in my uterus (I presume she means subchronic hematoma) which she didn’t put in the report , she didn’t even mention the flickering (which both myself and my husband saw) and she didn’t recheck any measurements etc. Obviously I’m aware I’m a little sensitive as I didn’t have the positive experience I wanted and I dated a good 10 - 14 days behind where I thought so I’ve not complained or anything but thought it might be better to go to the company I went to in my last pregnancy.

Lovely to see so many fabulous scans and to hear how well the booking in appointments have gone.

Aubyone · 05/02/2024 20:15

@Xur definitely not the case for me - i have high iron levels (or at least i did in last pregnancy and once when tested when not pregnant) and i have bad nausea at the moment (and last time it was bad until week 10 but then eased). I found last time when i took a multivitamin containing iron my nausea was worse (and this time when I've tried it really messes with both mine and mt breastfed toddlers digestive system!)

Theflyingfreckle · 05/02/2024 20:22

Really reassuring to see the variations of morning sickness. I'm 8 weeks +1 and haven't had anything significant, but a lot of gagging if I bend over and feeling like I'm about to burp but then I gag instead. A lot of headaches too, but no 'motion sickness' type feel, which is what I was expecting

Kate543 · 05/02/2024 20:40

My sickness in the evenings is still going strong 🤢
is anyone else experiencing any back pain? I am the last few days but it’s too early for that surely? I don’t remember this last time!

californiacooper · 05/02/2024 20:45

@tierneytarny okay I feel less alone now.
Hope your new scan is more positive (at least they didn't totally fail to spot the pregnancy in your uterus entirely though...!) I was so tempted to book one yesterday but it's only 3 more days now

UrsulaSings123 · 05/02/2024 21:24

I have a scan tomorrow morning at 9.30 and feel very anxious/excited. It's with EPAU as I have had some pains which I think might be coming from my cesearean scar. Really hoping everything is OK as its the first scan I would have had! I've calculated myself as being 6 weeks 3 days.
