@siobhanmt247 I also have my booking appt today and expecting my weight to be the biggest topic of conversation. What time is yours? Mine is 3.15, I really hope yours goes well and your midwife can spare a lecture. Xx

siobhanmt247 · 05/02/2024 12:18

@nic17. Its at 1pm. I'll let you know if ibhry any queries on it

Kofifi · 05/02/2024 12:21

So cool to see the scan picks. I'm so ignorant about pregnancy and had no idea it would be possible to see such a clear baby shape on first scan.

I have mine tomorrow. I've been so scared of miscarriage that I haven't had time to process the alternative: That everything is good and I'm going to have a baby in September. Somehow that's terrifying too even though I've wanted this for so long.

Feeling really sick and guilty about how little work I'm doing.

Xur · 05/02/2024 12:45

@Kofifi don’t worry, I’m literally sat at work reading the internet while eating spinach pasta -instead of doing work.

VT6 · 05/02/2024 12:52

@Kofifi how far gone are you?x

siobhanmt247 · 05/02/2024 13:54

@Nic17 she didn't mention it too much. just tipped over to obese so have to have extra folic acid

@Kofifi goos luck for your scan

Does nausea change as we go along, not just the intensity but also how it feels? In week 5 + 6, it felt like motion sickness - feeling really nauseous about half of the time, more when moving around, occasionally throwing up. I’m now 7+1 and for the last 24 hours, it more feels like being unwell after eating something that’s hard to digest. It feels like there’s something lying in my stomach and it would almost be a relief for it to come out, but I don’t feel like I will throw up. It’s also constant now rather than coming in waves.

Xur · 05/02/2024 14:32

@Cinai I had completely different sickness, I had like a light pulling sensation followed by gag, but not like poisoning or motioning sickness. My gag intensified on movement and bending over.

Aubyone · 05/02/2024 14:32

@Cinai how you've described it is exactly how the nausea feels for me. And yes, at Week 5ish felt more like slight motion sickness. I tried to describe it to my husband last night as like theres something stuck in my throat/stomach, almost like i'm full, but i'm also often feeling very hungry (but don't really want to eat). Today i almost vomited after eating but i remember last time never actually being sick, although i was constantly anxious that i was about to. It sucks, but it will get better!

HRP1990 · 05/02/2024 14:37

@Aubyone that’s a good way to describe it! I feel full, but I’m hungry. Almost like a constant sick hungry feeling! My nausea is getting better daily thank goodness, I think week 8 is a turning point for me 🤞🏻

Cinai · 05/02/2024 14:42

Our sickness seems to be very similar indeed @Aubyone Can I ask how it continued for you and when it cleared up - it sounds like you’ve been through this before.

Kofifi · 05/02/2024 14:48

Good to know I'm not alone @XurAnd thanks @siobhanmt247 .

Not 100% @VT6 sure as my cycles are quite irregular but somewhere between 7 and 8 weeks.

@Cinai I've been feeling exactly the same the last couple of days. I've been tempted to make myself sick but then figured it wouldn't actually help as its not like I've eaten something bad.

VT6 · 05/02/2024 15:34

Ladies hang in there with the sickness!
I’ve had the motion sickness, then the hungry/full sickness feeling.
I’m just over 8 weeks and it’s settled down loads (unless I eat too much)

Cinai · 05/02/2024 15:53

How interesting, I was really confused about my recent ‘full’/something stuck in the stomach’ sickness, I thought motion sickness was the norm. Thanks for giving me hope @VT6, would be lovely for this to pass soon-ish 🤞

SC126 · 05/02/2024 15:59

Im 8+4 and this weekend was the worst for nausea. Like the constant hungry but sick feeling yet don’t want to eat anything. So @VT6 im holding you to your word that it’s going to get better soon 😂

Xur · 05/02/2024 16:05

@SC126 exactly 8+4 was the worst for me last week, I was heading to a business meeting trying not to spew in the car! Now week 9 is much better, barely any nausea.

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 05/02/2024 16:31

@SC126 my nausea peaked weeks 6-9. I'm on week 10 now and it's improved loads. Hang in there.

Sydney1988 · 05/02/2024 16:34

@siobhanmt247 @Nic17 How did you ladies get on at your booking appts? I had mine today - went in at 1:20 and out at 2:40! So thorough - midwife was lovely too. I am joining the high BMI club (I blame 5 weeks of beige) so extra folic for me. Consultant led also, as had a cone biopsy in my cervix a couple of years ago. Separate appt at pre term labor clinic for that in a few weeks too.

MudandMoet · 05/02/2024 16:38

@WolfMother326 hope today's gone well in the new job. I'm 10+4 today. I keep pinching myself I've got this far.

Ladies who have had booking in appointments today (yay another step closer!) .... did the MW tell you to rebook another appointment and if so for when or did she say one would be made and you'd be told nearer the time. I can't remember what mine said at all.

HRP1990 · 05/02/2024 16:40

Not sure if it helps @MudandMoet but mine was made for me at the booking appointment, so I already have the 16 week - I was able to chose date/time x

siobhanmt247 · 05/02/2024 16:41

@Sydney1988 ia this your first? Mine was only 30 minutes but I didn't have many questions. I'm consultant led for GD. They're testing me next week for it! I really hope I don't have it this early

@MudandMoet the midwife booked my 16 week appointment whilst I was there

WolfMother326 · 05/02/2024 16:42

Thanks @MudandMoet it went surprisingly well despite the fact that I got two hours of sleep with my boy still on the wrong time zone. Its my first in person job since 2020, been working all online, and I realised I need to get some new work clothes as I don't have much (also not the size I was pre-baby). Was thinking of getting a few maternity dresses but that feels a little daunting!

VT6 · 05/02/2024 16:45

@SC126 you are further along than me 🤣
I’m 8 + 2. I nearly threw up yesterday after trying to eat a mammoth cooked breakfast, so that was my own doing

VT6 · 05/02/2024 16:46

And dare I say it, fruit and veg have actually helped! Only in the last week though

Xur · 05/02/2024 16:54

@MudandMoet I was told that my next appointment is at 16 weeks and when it comes closer to ring in at the reception and request an appointment for 16 weeks.
