@californiacooper I’m sorry that’s happening how scary! I did bleed my first pregnancy for about a week and thought for sure it was done but she was fine so 🤷‍♀️

@hol92 i had a c section but so far touch wood no pain yet. I have read about other people experiencing that though so it might just be part of the normal stretching discomfort

hol92 · 04/02/2024 20:29

I just wondered if anyone had a c section before if this isn't there first? I ended up having one and it's been really sore the last few days, I'm only between 6/7 weeks so am not sure if it's normal for it to be hurting, so wondered if anyone else has experienced it? X

I had an emergency cesearean 3 years ago. Now you say it, I wonder whether the pains I've been having have been coming more from my scar rather than internally... its very difficult to work out. Tends to be when I overstretch like I'm straining myself. I'd definitely mention it at your booking appointment though as I know that's something they monitor.

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 04/02/2024 20:58

@californiacooper with my dc2 I had a massive bleed at 9 weeks (multiple pads soaked) and then 2 days of spotting and really painful cramping. It was during the first lockdown and the hospital refused to scan me. It was horrendous.

I eventually managed to get a private scan about a week later and baby was absolutely fine. They couldn’t even work out where the blood had come from as by then all evidence was gone. Best guess was a subchorionic haematoma that resolved by itself.

I know it’s terrifying but it can be totally normal. Hang on in there.

californiacooper · 04/02/2024 21:08

@Kate543 @Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow sorry you had bleeding too but thank you for the reassurance. This pregnancy is such a surprise and so perfect and I was so convinced (and told by one sonographer) that it was finished last week just to be told the following day the first one was totally wrong that it just feels like I'm borrowed time. 😣

hol92 · 04/02/2024 21:11

@SC126 I just googled about a baby implanting in your scar and didn't even realise that was a thing! I definitely think I'm going to get an early scan to put my mind at rest as it been getting worse but to be honest I didn't think nothing of it because I didn't know that was a thing x

Xur · 04/02/2024 21:48

@MudandMoet she turned up yeah…the following day 😂 but today morning she messaged me with a time and even messaged later again when she was running few minutes late. (Prior to running late)

@californiacooper I think you are fine to be honest, small bleed and light cramps are ok. I’ve not had any bleeding but I’ve had all sorts of pains on and off. I was just wondering today whether it’s normal, but my inner voice said it was.
My good friend who have birth last Thursday she had full on periods with clots and the baby came out a healthy chonker.

WolfMother326 · 04/02/2024 21:53

@hol92 I would suggest calling the EPU just to get checked that the pregnancy hasn't implanted on your scar tissue. Its so incredibly rare though, and probably just stretching starting to happen. I also had a c section and have had some tenderness there.

WolfMother326 · 04/02/2024 21:55

I am soooo tired. We came back from the US on Friday and my 2 year old is having crazy jet lag so we've been up from 1am-5am all weekend. I'm starting a new job tomorrow too. All I want is for the week to pass quickly as I have my next scan on Thursday and then booking appointment on Friday. If the last scan is accurate I'll be 10 weeks too which feels like a huge milestone for some reason.

Is anyone else 10 weeks yet?

MrsB2019x · 04/02/2024 22:11

@hol92 I had a section 2.5 years ago and I haven’t actually had any pain there, it was a little uncomfortable around 5 weeks but it’s completely gone now. Am I right in remembering yours was under a year ago though? Maybe the deep tissue is still a little tender

@WolfMother326 I’ll be 10 weeks on Wednesday and totally agree it’s like a little milestone, double digits 🥳 The jet lag sounds sooo tough. We went to Florida with our 2 year old in September and the jet lag was hard then, let alone being pregnant along with it! Hats off to you 🫡

Martibum · 04/02/2024 22:18

@HRP1990 I can't even begin to think about going from 1 to 3! I roping in all the help I can, going to try get cleaner in, opting for premade meals etc. My daughter was preterm and nicu so I had a rough start last time I feel more prepared for the potential risks this pregnancy is bringing though.
@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow I also have sibling twins and 2 cousins on my mums side that have twins each (who happen to be siblings so 2 sets of twins in their family) twins are also on my husbands side too. The sonographer didn't pick up on the 2nd baby straight away, she said there was just the 1 then said oh my god there's actually 2 😂

Khanga27 · 04/02/2024 23:08

@WolfMother326 @MrsB2019x I reached 10 weeks today, and it felt like a milestone. I had a scan at 6 weeks which reassured me for a little while as we saw a heartbeat, but now I’m back to the unknown. The nausea and tiredness this time around along with some other bits is helping me stay hopeful though.

i booked an NIPT for 11+1 weeks and hope after that I can just relax fingers crossed!

HRP1990 · 05/02/2024 06:46

This is such a weird symptom, but I’m hoping someone is experiencing the same lol.. I keep waking up in hot sweats!? Like multiple times in the night. Even with lose pjs, window open etc. it’s so odd!

Reminds me of those sweats you get post labour that no one prepares you for lol 🙃

FuppinNora · 05/02/2024 07:20

@HRP1990 yep I'm getting the sweats - during the day too. Before realising I was pregnant I thought I was starting peri menopause!! Hopefully it will pass. Try putting a cool cloth on your wrists, it helps cool you down.

Martibum · 05/02/2024 08:07

@HRP1990 yes I'm in the sweats! Window open and fan on all night. I used stick deodorant, brand is called vico. I use it before bed (including under my boobs). Or even patting yourself down with some powder before getting into bed. It just lessens the icky feeling waking up in a puddle!

siobhanmt247 · 05/02/2024 08:16

I've got my booking appointment today and feel like I'm going to get a telling off for my weight. Out on half a stone since I found out I was pregnant. I've just wanted all the wrong things. I just need to draw a line and get back to healthy eating but I just want beige and sugar :(

Cat2022 · 05/02/2024 08:22

@californiacooper i had bleeding with my first pregnancy between 6-9 weeks and everything was fine. It was a lot but it was pretty consistent.

HRP1990 · 05/02/2024 08:22

Hope it goes well @siobhanmt247 I wouldn’t be too hard on yourself, some days it literally is a challenge to just eat, let alone eat something good! I wasn’t even weighed at my appt, she just asked my weight and jotted it down

@FuppinNora @Martibum oh thank god, I’m glad it’s not just me! I’ll try both recommendations, thanks girls

longingtobe23 · 05/02/2024 08:31

I’ve woken to brown blood discharge
gutted, it isnt a lot but I had stopped “knicker watch” since 5 weeks and saw heartbeat Friday at EPAU

I am about to book another private for today - I know I can call EPAU again, but after the experience I’d rather it be more relaxing and straightforward.

feel sick with worry so heart goes out to others who have had bleeds and panics today ♥️

Queijo · 05/02/2024 08:46

@longingtobe23 i know this sounds flippant, but I’d try not to worry too much about brown discharge, there can be lots of reasons, but it’s generally old blood. Could be leftover from implantation. If it gets heavier/turns red I’d see if EPAU can get you in again.

Such a worrying time, keeping everything g crossed for you.

siobhanmt247 · 05/02/2024 08:52

So sorry to everyone struggling with bleeding again. It's so scary! @longingtobe23 the midwife told me brown was ok. When you had your scan was it internal? Maybe they aggravated something

Thank you @HRP1990 :) x

Lillers · 05/02/2024 09:08

Back at work today after 4 days off sick last week. Got a to do list longer than my arm but all I want to do is curl up and go to sleep. I can’t believe how much I don’t care about my job right now.

Kate543 · 05/02/2024 09:21

Good morning all,
my little one did not sleep well last night at all and I am really feeling it today! Also finally had the midwife get back to me to say I will have to go private for my nipt so that’s slightly annoying!
feel guilty that I feel so rubbish and I’m not being the most fun mummy at the moment.
hope everyone is getting on ok

hol92 · 05/02/2024 09:49

@Kate543 completely with you on the feeling guilty part, I'm trying to be enthusiastic for my baby but it's so hard when you just constantly feel so rubbish, I guarantee they probably don't even notice though ❤️

longingtobe23 · 05/02/2024 09:58

@Queijo @siobhanmt247 thanks both!
I know it can be totally normal, so trying to be level headed now, it hasn’t got any worse so I think I was expecting it too.

All my scans have been external and they’ve found what they need so far. I am fortunately in a position I can book a quick private for today as I don’t want to waste nhs time if it’s nothing as you say they might dismiss brown/small amounts.

I think because it’s taken me 2 years to get here I am more anxious than needs be!

Kate543 · 05/02/2024 10:35

@hol92 i am just praying it will get better once we get through the first trimester (and out of the winter germy months)
