I haven't had bad dreams but I feel like they're more vivid. I remember the dream when I wake up and I'm sure I'm that's only started since I've been pregnant. Anyone else noticing that more?

hol92 · 02/02/2024 15:27

Has anyone noticed they are getting more headaches? I got a horrible one yesterday right at the top of my head it lasted around a minute and felt like stabbing it made me panic as it was so painful and came on so suddenly, I looked it up and 'ice pick headache' came up - just wondered if anyone else suffers with them?

  • thank you from a health anxiety gal 🤣
HRP1990 · 02/02/2024 15:49

I just feel constantly hungover, it’s restless. I’m really not a joy to be around at the moment! Feel as though I’m not contributing enough around the house/parenting my daughter enough but being pregnant is alot 🙃

Hoping for good news at my scan on Sunday and hopefully that should lift my “mood” if you can call it that lol

Lillers · 02/02/2024 16:10

Ach, the period-like cramps are really starting to annoy me. They’re not severe, just feels like they’re always there (even though it’s probably on and off, I just don’t notice when they’re not there if you get what I mean). I remember I used to think that at least pregnancy meant you wouldn’t have to deal with your period for a few months - what’s the point when the worst symptom of periods just decides to set up camp as a constant feature of pregnancy too?? No pregnant woman ever shared this delightful info with me!

Also, every time I reach a new week milestone, I always feel like that number suddenly seems really small still. So I’m 6+1, and when I was 4 weeks I felt like 5 felt so much bigger, then got to 5 and it felt small so thought 6 felt so much bigger. Now I’m at 6 it suddenly feels small. What a mental headache I’m giving myself.

doitjustice95 · 02/02/2024 16:14

Hi everyone & Happy Friday!

Update from me is - Booking in appointment with midwife is completed today so that’s one milestone checked off the list! I should currently be 7/8 weeks along now based on the clearblue test.

So I’ve been waiting for this booking in appointment to get a clear picture on whats what and get the right supports set up. Since I am under severe asthma at St Barts I flagged this at my appointment which has triggered a high risk consultant to have a chat with me soon. I wanted this reassurance because I know how easily something as major as asthma can be overlooked and would rather have the hands on support available from the start.

Also, WOOP WOOP! I have my first 12 week scan appointment booked in ! It’s for the 27th February (feels like I’m carrying a certificate after passing an exam). Almost there!!

Current symptoms which honestly for the last two weeks have made me near enough tearful are the sore breasts. I don’t have much to work with in the boon arena, but seriously the simple task of getting up each morning and realising I’ve slept with an arm squishing the sides of my boobs makes me want to cry. Other issues is not wearing elasticated pjs and to avoid the annoying cramps on the sides of my tummy.

SC126 · 02/02/2024 16:57

@doitjustice95 im struggling with elasticated pjs too. Any sort of pressure on my bloated tummy in the evenings is painful.

longingtobe23 · 02/02/2024 16:58

@californiacooper i would have excused them for that but there was nobody in either waiting room and nobody in the 4 sonography beds 😅! But I have forgiven them I also apologised for crying it was just a huge shock that they would refuse me for their mistake, I know nhs are so so busy I’m never not grateful but all they needed to say was “have you had your scan yet” 😖

All done now and I am trying to look forward to the next one xx

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2024 19:53

@HRP1990 Constantly hungover here too! It’s miserable. Have you tried travel sickness bands? They have taken the edge off it for me

HRP1990 · 02/02/2024 20:06

@MrsB2019x I haven’t done no, I wasn’t sure if they’d take the edge off or not as it’s just a general “eurgh” feeling as well as being nauseous too? I’ll try them! I literally feel so miserable and I know this should be a happy time lol but happy isn’t showing her face right now 🥹

hol92 · 02/02/2024 20:25

@MrsB2019x also constantly hungover here! It's the bit when you have been asleep and when you open your eyes it just surges 🤢 I've found sparkling flavoured water helps a little x

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2024 20:31

@HRP1990 Yeah that’s exactly how I feel as well, I do feel sick now and then don’t get me wrong but it’s mostly just that “bleurgh“ feeling. They definitely help a little (might just be placebo but even if it is I’m here for it!)

@hol92 I’m alright as long as I stay laid down but as soon as I move I’m done 😵‍💫

HRP1990 · 02/02/2024 20:36

@MrsB2019x @hol92 travel sickness bands and sparkling water are on the shopping list tomorrow 🤞🏻

I’m 8+1 today.. those ahead, tell me it gets better!? 🙏🏻

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2024 20:40

@HRP1990 I’m 9+1 and although I still don’t feel great it’s definitely better than last week!

Khanga27 · 02/02/2024 20:42

I am 9+5. The nausea is milder but the severity of last week has given me really bad acid reflux. I’m hoping the peptac I’ve been prescribed starts helping soon!

hol92 · 02/02/2024 21:28

@MrsB2019x I know exactly what you mean I have a 10 month old and he's decided he wants to wake a few times in the night again it's such bad timing as like you say as soon as you move it hits then there's no sleep for hours 🙈

rupertbear91 · 02/02/2024 21:29

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2024 19:53

@HRP1990 Constantly hungover here too! It’s miserable. Have you tried travel sickness bands? They have taken the edge off it for me

I bought some of these today getting desperate and only able to eat dry toast 🤦🏽‍♀️

hol92 · 02/02/2024 21:31

I had 8 slices of peanut butter and jam on toast today - nutrition at its best!

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2024 23:46

My diet has been 80% cheese today (Mac and cheese for lunch, pizza for dinner 🙈)

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 03/02/2024 00:00

I just ate a box of chocolate pralines. Guess that's dinner. It's made me sick and gassy but I regret nothing.

californiacooper · 03/02/2024 04:00

What the bloody hell is it about 4am!!! It's like my alarm has gone off. Awake, again!

Fawklight · 03/02/2024 06:16

@californiacooper I'm not sleeping well either 😭 up every hour tonight and my back hurts so much

Lillers · 03/02/2024 06:56

I started reading “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” and it suggested keeping something snacky by the bed to help combat nausea overnight - as the queasiness is worse when your stomach is empty it should help take the edge off. I moved my lifesaving pack of ginger biscuits to my bedside table and had one before going to sleep. I actually managed to sleep until 6.30! First time in weeks! Just had another ginger biscuit before getting up and hoping it’ll delay the morning sickness at least until I’m a bit more awake and able to deal with it better.

Bakerbean · 03/02/2024 07:09

Morning everyone! Just been catching up.

It’s scan day for me today & excitement/anxiety has had me awake since 4am 🙈. @VT6 good luck for your scan today too! & @HRP1990 for yours tomorrow!

@californiacooper the insomnia is real, if I manage to sleep to anywhere near 6am it’s a miracle these days!

@siobhanmt247 @MudandMoet @cd24x @MrsB2019x @doitjustice95 it sounds like lots of us are going to be consultant lead! Always nice to know you’re not on your own in things. I have a rare blood condition, previous cancer diagnoses, mild heart condition, high BMI (really feeling sad about this one after my appointment yesterday), and also had to have LLTEZ treatment in October last year which puts me at risk of going into early labour as it weakens your cervix 🫣. What a medical nightmare!

@MudandMoet I think I’ve been referred for an appointment pre-12 weeks with a consultant, but we’ll see what happens! I’m just excited to get my 12 week scan date!

@hol92 headaches have been a symptom for me too. I had an awful migraine last week which I struggled to get on top of only being able to take paracetamol. I’ve read that if you’re prone to headaches during your menstrual cycle then you’re unfortunately prone to them through pregnancy too 🫠

FuppinNora · 03/02/2024 07:09

@hol92 yes the headaches are like migraines but don't hang around as long!

The tiredness is another level on this one, however I am 15 years older than the last one but definitely don't remember this amount of tiredness. When I was 6 weeks I was literally able to stand for 15 mins then I had to lie down (didn't know I was pregnant at the time). I went to an out of hours gp and he suggested a test 😂

I'm not 100% what week I am as I thought I was going through peri menopause so hadn't been keeping track!! I think week 8. Booking in appointment next week so hopefully I'll be a bit wiser. Haven't told anyone yet as want to make sure all OK. Kind of nice that it is just me and DH now.

Is anyone else absolutely starving all the time? I'm waking at 5am with tummy grumbling. During the day it's nearly every hour I'm looking for something. No nausea with me! I've gone the opposite direction.

Bakerbean · 03/02/2024 07:28

@FuppinNora I was SO hungry in week 6 & 7, like constantly hungry 😅 it’s tailed off now thankfully, I think I’m roughly 8+5
