No changes for me either, still getting some period type cramps and periodic contractions… due date is tomorrow… babies never actually come on their due date though do they?? 🤣

I’ve been out for tea and a walk and the pressure is getting ridiculous now! Going to relax with a raspberry leaf tea, can’t be bothered with the ball tonight.

Hopefully some more arrivals tomorrow 🤞

KayakingBex · 10/02/2024 22:21

So I got checked at the MAU today - I was certain it was going to be nothing but baby movements had been slight and vague feeling for a few days so I called. As usual baby was absolutely fine and the wee trouble maker has been poking me since.

They offered me a stretch and sweep which given I’m 10 days overdue I accepted. They couldn’t do it because my cervix wasn’t favourable 😩.

They have moved my induction forward to tomorrow as it looks like my body needs a nudge to get going and could take a few days. Baby boy is head down but unfortunately back to back. At least he is ok though!

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 10/02/2024 22:26

Thread has gone abit quiet 😂 I wonder if some of you have gone into labour 🤔 lol

@RachLeeds my due date is Monday and no they either come early (in my own experiences) or late for others 🤣 So far, apart from my first born (who was born at 39+6) this is the closest ive come to 40weeks in like 10 years! 😂 so tomorrow shall be very interesting for me as I will be 39+6 🙂

Hawk901 · 10/02/2024 22:26

Hey ladies, due on 14th 💕

used to be in this thread at the beginning and struggled to find it again x

how is everyone???? Everyone else as fed up as I am with pregnancy lol

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 10/02/2024 22:29

@KayakingBex sorry I spoke to soon! hope all goes well for you tomorrow hun. Wow, 10 days over! Bet your feeling pretty fed up? What are the plans for your induction then like how are they going to start you off? You going to have the foley balloon fitted? What have they recommended if you don't mind me asking x

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 10/02/2024 22:31

@Hawk901 hi 👋 glad you have found the new thread 😁 it's just a waiting game for us all now I think as the end of pregnancy is very near, makes me feel sad to think I won't ever experience pregnancy again lol but I definatly won't miss the heartburn! Haha

Hawk901 · 10/02/2024 22:34

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX i hear that!! Glad this is the only one I’m planning for and as it stands will ever have lol finally been taken off of high risk and been left alone with scans and appointments for the past two weeks which has made this drag even more.

im 39+3 and trying absolutely everything I can find online to help aid.

how are you getting on? Xx

KayakingBex · 10/02/2024 22:41

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX yup definitely fed up now! No one in my family has ever gone more than a couple of days over so I didn’t really expect it. Don’t mind you asking at all 😊. So current plan they are going to start off with a 24 hour hormone pessary and see if that gets me going. If not they move onto the 6 hour pessarys (if I’m remembering correctly) then if that doesn’t work after that they move onto a hormone drip. From what I understood they will adjust the plan depending how my body responds to everything.

KayakingBex · 10/02/2024 22:44

@Hawk901 - Yup definitely fed up now! Ive been finding it stressful not being able to plan. Also looking forward to getting my body back - although I know it will take awhile to recover.

Hawk901 · 10/02/2024 22:49

@KayakingBex i was thinking today if I regretted being prepared so early. I went off sick from work 3 months ago and I’ve only just become bored shitless lol finding myself so impatient. Weirdly this is the best I’ve felt the entire pregnancy but the unknowing and planning for sweeps and inductions is much worse, constant fear of being able to breastfeed and what she will look like has struck, had to delete social media cause I kept getting synced with all bad stories and it made me so anxious.

I miss laying on my belly to sleep so much!!

Ebonythoughts · 11/02/2024 00:39

4 days past ‘due date’ and with you @Hawk901 feel like I prepared too early. I blame my midwife making a comment when I was 34 weeks saying baby was big and low down and because I had pressure and Braxton hicks she would bet money I would give birth before 40 weeks. I panicked, got the bag ready, prepped meals and sorted the whole house. Been twiddling my thumbs ever since.

Went for a long walk today and ate lots of pineapple and now trying to express colostrum again to stimulate nipples… resigned myself to the fact I’ve done all I’ve can and tomorrow I think I’m just going to take a day off from trying to encourage it and will go watch a movie or get a manicure. She’s clearly too comfortable in there so why am I stressing myself out? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Mumtothreex · 11/02/2024 01:50

Baby Jack has arrived 10/2/24 10:32am weighing 9lb 1oz. Went in to have my waters broken 8am Friday at 39+5 but no midwife was available until 04:15am Saturday morning so was a long wait but we got there! He was predicted to be 7lb 6oz a few days before induction so the scan was well off and i’m glad I pushed to get him out sooner rather than later as my other two were both 9lb 7oz babies! Gas and air and diamorphine through labour. The after pains are awful with a third baby Ive had to have 2 doses of morphine so far tonight but apparently it’s common. Had 6 sweeps in total which probably slightly helped to soften/dilate for labour. Anyway - home tomorrow as long as sugars remain stable x

KayakingBex · 11/02/2024 03:49

@Mumtothreex - congratulations! Oof that’s a big baby! Wishing you a speedy recovery and fingers crossed sugars are stable 🤞

@Hawk901 - I was the same third trimester was the trimester I started to enjoy being pregnant. I got some energy back, I enjoyed food again as my aversions went away and the memory of morning sickness faded. That was until about 39 weeks when I started getting an all over body pregnancy rash (PUPPS) that has made me miserable for the last couple of weeks. I’ve been ready since end of January so yes I also feel like “why was I panicking back then 😅”

undercoverhero74 · 11/02/2024 07:42

Congratulations @Mumtothreex that's great news! I hope both you and baby are doing well?

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX I thought the thread had been quiet too so am just waiting all the lovely birth updates. Still absolutely no signs my end. I'm 38 weeks tomorrrow so still have a couple of weeks but I am more than ready for her to make her arrival. I have another midwife appointment and a growth scan in the coming week so hopefully a sweep will be offered and we can get started. I had 3 sweeps with my first and the third seemed to
Have the desired effect even tho they ended up breaking my waters and putting me on the drip. I'm so very very ready to claim my body back now.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 11/02/2024 08:03

@Mumtothreex congratulations!!! ❤️ I can't believe the growth scan was so far out. Thankfully you got him out okay. Hope the pains go soon, that sounds horrible.

@KayakingBex ten days over 😑 good luck for today. How're you feeling about it?

@Ebonythoughts I think having a relaxing day sounds great. It's exhausting to keep doing birth prep. And it sounds like you've had the time to do a lot of birth and baby prep, so distraction will be good. Have they given you a plan?

They told me big baby from the growth scans and expected me to be early also, and the earliness hasn't materialised. I'm hoping the growth scans are a bit out also, as I'm scared to try and birth this baby.

Good luck to everyone else waiting!

Ebonythoughts · 11/02/2024 08:19

@Mumtothreex ah congratulations! I hope the pain subsides and you feel better soon.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 no real plan as of yet except that I declined the sweep and they advised an induction on the 20th if baby wasn’t here by then but I told them I’d really like to avoid any intervention so will avoid induction for as long as it’s safe to do so. I think (hope!) that when our bodies and babies are ready it’ll just know what to do and I don’t want to force the process if it’s not medically necessary…. Even though I do wish she was in my arms already 🥺

Hawk901 · 11/02/2024 09:44

@Mumtothreex congratulations!!! It’s insane how mad the scan measurements can be. I was 7lbs 8 at 37 weeks apparently but nothing to go on is it.

@Ebonythoughts how have you found their attitude towards you saying no thanks for induction and sweeps?

@KayakingBex ive woke up this morning so nauseas and the most horrid pain in my pubic bone making it difficult to lift my leg or bend down.

Atleast the lack of sleep helps prepare for baby 💕

Allthatglittersisntart · 11/02/2024 09:55

Any-one else tried nettle tea to bring on labour?
The raspberry leaf blends upset my stomach and really want to avoid induction scheduled for Wednesday!

Hawk901 · 11/02/2024 10:04

@Allthatglittersisntart no but I do the raspberry leaf extract capsules which stay down easily.

a lot of the raspberry leaf teas ones have more hibiscus in than anything else, not sure if it’s worth looking at the ingredients as that’s known for causing upset stomachs.

I’ve done quite abit on research for raspberry leaf as it helps so much after baby is born with first period and uterus shrinking x

Hawk901 · 11/02/2024 10:10

@Allthatglittersisntart im thinking of trying clarysage oil today, have you tried that??

I’ve heard some great things about putting some on cotton wall in bra strap or next to your pillow while you sleep to bring it on x

Thanks, hibiscus is the main ingredient in mine! I didn’t realise it was an irritant.
I might get the Final push one then which is raspberry and peppermint.

if you find anything works please let us know lol x

Ebonythoughts · 11/02/2024 11:23

@Hawk901 they just said they’ll keep inviting me in for a sweep and that I with the induction they’ll discuss at the time if I refuse. Tbh I went for the first sweep appointment last week to decline in person but asked if she could examine me to see what’s happening with my cervix and if I’m dilated at all, and she said she couldn’t examine me if I declined a sweep because if she examined she probably will sweep too. I understand but really wish she could just examine me so I could see if I’m making progress naturally.

So in terms of cervix and dilation I don’t really know what my body is doing at this stage or if anything at all is progressing but I’m hoping that the weeks of pressure, period type pain, tightening and lightning crotch are doing something 🤷🏾‍♀️

mummylove24 · 11/02/2024 12:06

Last night, I was up every 1 -1.5 hour to go pee in the night, one point I almost fell asleep on the toilet 😴 another time I got up too fast and got dizzy 😵‍💫
I hadn’t drunk any more water than usual, but got thirsty dry mouth I could only take a sip of water though
