@novamama I'm glad you've been able to rest up at home! Hopefully similar to you, my contractions are just taking a while to start. My baby also seems oblivious and happy bouncing around in there! I'm feeling good, mostly tired so definitely going to try and get some sleep while I can. Any updates for you? X

Congratulations @CharXo such a beautiful name💙 wow these last few of days have been busy with babies!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/02/2024 18:06

@CharXo congratulations!! Wow what a big baby, thank goodness for a section!

@novamama ah nooo! I'm okay thanks, they had me in today and monitored. Can see my toco for contractions keep going over 100, but they feel just minor cramps to me. So similar to you, i got to go home today, but I'm back in tomorrow for an induction if nothing proper starts off

@PeeBeee I haven't experienced that but hope you feel better

@KayakingBex how're you getting on?

CheeseAndCrackersx · 08/02/2024 18:08

Well things have like slowed down again today, still very much getting tightenings but they aren't hurting like yesterday was.

I'm gonna get on the birth ball soon and spend a few hours on it 🙂

I see midwife again tomorrow, can you have more sweeps once the mucus plug has come away?

Thewildthingsarewithme · 08/02/2024 18:11

Congratulations @CharXo i have a Teddy ❤️ what a weight! Congratulations to all those who have delivered in the last few days!

Yes you can have more sweeps.

You're having a long, long latent phase and I bet the end of your labour will be fast in comparison.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 08/02/2024 18:40

Thank you @TheShellBeach 😊
I know, he has no urgency at all 😂

anony1111 · 08/02/2024 20:14

@CharXo congratulations on the safe arrival of baby Teddy 💙

@PeeBeee I experienced similar with my first but if I remember rightly my waters had already gone. They do say diarrhoea can be a sign labour is near though

RachLeeds · 08/02/2024 21:17

Congratulations @CharXo - another boy! Love his name 🧸

Any body bouncing watching Love Island? 🤣

PeeBeee · 08/02/2024 21:24

@anony1111 ive had it 4 more times since i posted earlier🙈

I am away to bed but will make sure I finish of packing hospital bags tomorrow just incase🙈 could be just a bug!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 08/02/2024 21:35

@RachLeeds
I'm bouncing with music on through my AirPods whilst partner watches the darts 😄

anony1111 · 08/02/2024 22:07

@PeeBeee yeah it could be a bug, do you feel ok in yourself? At this stage in pregnancy we look for any signs that labour is on the way don't we 🤣 hopefully if it is a bug it will have passed by morning 🤞🏼

RachLeeds · 08/02/2024 23:37

@CheeseAndCrackersx I’m too embarrassed to bounce and do the hip rotations in front of my partner because he just laughs at me! 🙈🤣 I gave up after 45 minutes anyway but I have been getting a lot of stabbing pains down there, so I think baby has dropped lower today🤞

Kelb79 · 08/02/2024 23:53

@PeeBeee defo pack that bag!!! Diarrhoea and/or vomiting can absolutely be one of the first signs of labour ❤️❤️🙏🏼

@RachLeeds I’m with ya!!! OH has been out so I’ve been bouncing with love island 🤣🤣 I’m loving this years!! It’s killing me 🤣🤣🤣

I just did about 50 burps in a row (I’d love to be able to be saying burpees right now but couldn’t be further from that 🙄) - these final few symptoms are kicking my arse!! Skin tags popped up overnight on my neck…. Pain in my pubic bone…. Farting loudly… 😐😐😐

Kelb79 · 09/02/2024 00:08

Oh and numb fingertips in my right hand which I’ve read is probably from pregnancy induced carpel tunnel 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

they don’t tell you this stuff in the guide books 😐

Mangotango39 · 09/02/2024 07:25

Hi ladies.
Just caught up, congrats on all the babies!!!

Our beautiful BOY (was a surprise) was born Monday morning via scheduled section and we have been in newborn bliss ever since.
My section experience was wonderful and I have been feeling really well. Pain is quite minimal at this point.

He only weighed 7 pounds 7 (was predicted to be massive!) . He failed his sugar levels at first due to GD but we got it sorted quickly.

Breastfeeding hasn't quite worked out but I tried , getting his sugars sorted kind of messed it up as he got a bottle preference. Had a few days of colostrum so I am happy with that.

He is now sleeping and eating wonderfully with a very calm nature (so far). Settles well too.

Hope everyone is doing ok x

KayakingBex · 09/02/2024 07:54

@CharXo & @Mangotango39 Congratulations on your new arrivals! 🥳 I hope you are both recovering well!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 - still nothing 🫠. Baby boy is happy where he is it seems. I’ve got this weekend to get things going naturally then induction on Monday. I had loads of irregular cramps earlier in the week that I thought might turn into something but they just stopped.

Im a mixture of nervous about induction/ relieved I have the option.

I have at least got a handle on my PUPPS rash - it looks horrific still but it’s no longer as sore or as itchy so I’m less miserable. I’ll add this here in case anyone else is unfortunate enough to suffer from it - Using Aloe Vera gel for preventing the itch, jojoba oil on the blistered dry areas, I’ve cut down on dairy as well (apparently there’s some evidence that food sensitivity can trigger or make it worse). Loose cotton clothing only - anything else feels like wearing sandpaper right now.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 09/02/2024 08:59

Being on the ball lastnight has definitely increased the pressure/pain down there.

Dreamt twice lastnight about being in actual labour, be nice to be true 🤣

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/02/2024 09:38

@Mangotango39 congratulations!!! What lovely news ❤️ glad you seem to be recovering well and your little boy is doing well!

@KayakingBex that's nice to have a backstop on the date, but gosh you're still suffering from the rash. Good luck this weekend.

I called the induction team this morning and have postponed my induction to later this weekend. I had a chat with them about readiness, so just sharing in case this is useful to anyone else also. My cervix is 1 cm dilated, and now 1cm in length. Described as 'soft and stretchy'. However they would expect the cervix to be paper thin, to be ready to go into labour. So from 3xm to 1cm length doesn't really show anything. 1-2 cm dilation isn't very much. My Toco was showing regular tightenings, but they aren't productive as I'm not more dilated, so early/false labour. However could be softening the cervix more, so beneficial in that way. So basically even though in my sweep yesterday they could get their fingers fully in and touch the babies head, I could still be miles off actual labour. I've been having these tightenings for a few days now also.

So a bit discouraging, but I found the info useful for me as I wasn't aware of some of it

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/02/2024 09:39

@CheeseAndCrackersx that would be nice!

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 09/02/2024 10:22

@CharXo @Mangotango39 🎊 congratulations to both of you & the safe arrivals of your baby boys 💕 hope recovery is going well for you both! xx

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sounds like are cervix's are the exact same!! 😂 I'm due on Monday, when are you due?

LavenderSweetPea · 09/02/2024 10:29

Congratulations @CharXo and @Mangotango39 !! Hope you are both enjoying the first few days of motherhood ❤️

AllAboardTootToot · 09/02/2024 10:31

Congratulations on the arrivals ladies - so great seeing all the happy news posts!

I just want to scream ‘get out, get out, get out’ to my little one today 🙈😂 The back pressure is intense right now but don’t think it’s contractions. Although I don’t know. Not getting anything near the front so think it’s just her lay on me.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 09/02/2024 11:02

Had another sweep.
Fingers crossed for third time lucky 🤞🏻😀

novamama · 09/02/2024 11:16

@Mangotango39 @CharXo Many congratulations!! 🥳❤️

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @MummyTo4BoysXXXX that makes 3 of us. Just returning home after MAU as it's been 48h after waters have gone. I've had regular contractions since 6 AM but my cervix is only 1cm dilated.

However, the contraction intensity is really ramping up for me, I think baby is coming today.

They were happy to let me get to 4cm at home, up to 72h post-waters breaking 🥳
