@CheeseAndCrackersx id say so! Good luck 🤞🏽🤞🏽

novamama · 07/02/2024 12:17

@CheeseAndCrackersx that's definitely looking like part of a mucus plug!!! Very exciting!

My waters broke during the night. Not a splashy situation, just trickling which is continuing now too. So the main splash is still to happen.

Went into MAU this morning, and they confirmed. Now what I feel really taken aback by is that I have 18h (11h left) to go into labour and still be allowed to give birth in MLU; otherwise I have to be in delivery suit. This stresses me out like nothing before because I planned to cope with labour using all the props and bits and hot water in MLU, which they don't have on delivery suit. I have 11h to get contractions started and I'm not sure what to do 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

anony1111 · 07/02/2024 12:26

@CheeseAndCrackersx @novamama how exciting! I hope things progress nicely for you both and everything goes well!

@novamama maybe try go on a walk and use birthing ball if you have one to try get contractions going. I know easier said than done but try stay relaxed and don't stress

RachLeeds · 07/02/2024 13:09

Good luck ladies! I feel sick as a dog today, like my morning sickness has come back in full vengeance 🤢

I don’t have any stretch marks but I have developed loads of tiny skin tags on my neck and underboob area and my moles have all grown!

DmcinT · 07/02/2024 13:37

@RachLeeds im the exact same, no stretch marks but loads of skin tags and extra moles. I would have had a few skin tags anyways but they have multiplied.

I had a sweep this morning, she said she couldn’t do it properly as cervix is closed but tried her best to give it a go🫠 she also said cervix is longer than she expected so I feel like labour is prob so far off 😫🙈 so back to long walks, stairs, ball and sex for me!!

@CheeseAndCrackersx @novamama I hope things are progressing nicely for u both❤️

RachLeeds · 07/02/2024 14:19

@DmcinT it’s nice to know I’m not alone! The joys of pregnancy 🤣

Don’t be too disheartened. My friend couldn’t have a sweep done recently (cervix too high) and her waters broke naturally two days before her due date, so sometimes there aren’t any signs. She tried a long walk and also bounced on the ball the day before 🤞 I feel too ill to attempt anything and I’m just lying in bed, lacking all motivation 🙈

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 07/02/2024 14:48

Just thought I'd say midwife managed to do half a stretch & sweep on me today as found it too uncomfortable but good news was that my cervix was favourable for her to give it ago just feel abit of a let down Larry in myself 😒

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/02/2024 14:57

@CheeseAndCrackersx Amy more progress?

@novamama I'd ask your Dr, but in my last pregnancy, my consultant had me walking up and down stairs, and power walking the hospital grounds. Basically keeping as active as possible. Good luck!

Sorry @DmcinT and @MummyTo4BoysXXXX about the sweeps. It is disheartening, but you never know, what they've managed to do might help

Thanks for the comments on stretchmarks, good to know I'm not alone in being upset about them. I think o really thought I'd escaped them again, and now my stomach looks like a tube map sigh

Cheetocat · 07/02/2024 14:59

Went in for my routine weekly obstetrician appointment, she did an internal exam and I was only 1cm dilated, then she wanted to do a quick scan to check the size of baby and as it turned out there's low amneotic fluid so they're inducing me and keeping me in. I've got propess which is like a tampon with prostaglandin hormones in it. I'm in my own little room with a very fetching pink hospital gown. My sisters 40th is tomorrow and she'd been wishing he'd be born then, she's going to be delighted

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/02/2024 14:59

I'm apparently 4/5s engaged, baby deep in pelvis. Not sure what this means exactly for if labour will be soon or not, but hopefully it's moving in the right direction

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/02/2024 15:00

@Cheetocat oh I'm so sorry! Hope it all goes well

Cheetocat · 07/02/2024 15:09

@xTinkerbell Congratulations on your beautiful little one!

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX Best of luck, hope you get some result from your sweep!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Thank you, I'm just happy it was caught and that we're in the right place and being cared for.

novamama · 07/02/2024 15:18

Thank you ladies for the advice.

I had a nap as I felt soo sleepy. Still no contractions. I'll adopt your bouncing and active advice now. Fingers crossed. 8h to get this going 🤞🏻

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 07/02/2024 15:21

@Cheetocat thanks.. dont know whether these are good things but midwife sounded really positive and said she thinks things will just happen really quick for me.. my cervix still only 1cm dilated but really soft & thin, she said my cervix length was only 1cm where as last week it was 3cm.. and also not really high up to the back like lastweek, she said its sitting in the middle? Also she said baby's head felt really low aswell she could feel baby's head 😂 but still only 2/5ths in pelvis? :/ so how does that all work out? Does this sound good? As she said it's obvious my body is trying to do its thing anyway :/

CheeseAndCrackersx · 07/02/2024 16:52

Defo lost a lot more mucus plug since my last post. A really big lot with blood in at 1 point. & it's feeling more intense from my back to the front so 🤞🏻 this latent phase doesn't last what feels like forever 🙈

LavenderSweetPea · 07/02/2024 17:05

Sounds like baby is very much on the way @CheeseAndCrackersx so exciting! How frequent are the contractions at the minute?

CharXo · 07/02/2024 17:26

I have my section tomorrow and I’ve been so excited about it… now it’s looming I feel so anxious and constantly sick! I know I’m not going to be able to sleep tonight with worry! Help!

DmcinT · 07/02/2024 17:53

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX its so hard to know if what they are saying is good or not, I kept repeating her today and asking is that good/positive etc.. I’d say she thought this one is mental😂 urs all seems to be moving in the right direction from last week.
my Dr mentioned baby is right in the middle low down this morning but like that I wasn’t sure so asked if that’s a good or bad thing and she said that’s the ideal position 🎉

@CheeseAndCrackersx great progress, keeping everything crossed for u now over the next few hrs.🤞🏽🙏🏽

@CharXo u are meeting that little face bouncing and kicking about inside u tomorrow, oh the excitement🥰🥰 I can imagine it’s nerve racking too but u literally get to meet them in a few hrs 🥺 so special x

TheShellBeach · 07/02/2024 18:09

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX the changes in your cervix length and position are really good signs.

The fact that the head is 2/5 palpable means it's engaged.

All those are very positive findings. Good luck!

TheShellBeach · 07/02/2024 18:11

@CheeseAndCrackersx you may well find that you have a very long latent phase, then things will speed up and you'll have a rapid end to your labour. Are you still at home?

CheeseAndCrackersx · 07/02/2024 20:12

I've been back in cos of how things were feeling/progressing & I wasn't feeling baby move when they really began to ramp up which got me worried. But I'm still very much 2cm but he's gone from -3 station yesterday to -2 today so I'll guess the more intensity was him engaging more.

The midwife could touch his head a lot easier than yesterday/last night too.

I'm not gonna go back in now unless I'm screaming in pain cos I feel daft 🙈

It's hard being my first cos I feel hopeless not knowing truly what's happening and if it is full on labour.

LavenderSweetPea · 07/02/2024 20:36

@CheeseAndCrackersx your not daft to not know when is the right time to go in. I know exactly what you mean, I felt silly going in when I wasn't sure (felt I wasn't in enough pain so must be BH) but DH wasn't happy it was nothing so we went to the hospital and baby arrived only 4 hours later. If we'd waited until I was screaming in pain and 100% sure I was in labour we might have given birth somewhere down the motorway 😂

I didn't even let DH bring our bags into the hospital I was so afraid of being embarrassed and being sent home not so much as a cm dilated. But midwives see it all the time and would rather you come in I'm sure to be checked.

Now I know what labour feels like I realise I'd actually been having contractions at night for days. I had thought I maybe had a UTI or they were bh. It's hard when it's your first time, please don't be hard on yourself!

Meeting · 07/02/2024 20:47

AHH lots to catch up on since yesterday!

Glad things are progressing for you @CheeseAndCrackersx and don't worry about going in too many times, better than not going if you need to!

Can someone describe to me what contractions actually feel like? I'm having some pains in my groin, like underneath my bump but are contractions felt there or actually in your bump/belly? So confused!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 07/02/2024 20:51

Thank you ladies 🙂

Can't believe how much mucus plug we lose. Feels like it hasn't stopped all day since that first pic xx
