@Angelslookingafterus congratulations on your early arrival! Glad to hear he is thriving 💙 hope you are doing well too x

Cheetocat · 06/02/2024 17:43

I'd like to push baby out myself but I'm not that fussed about how he gets here in the end as long as we're both healthy. 😍😍 Can't wait to hold him in my arms. 38w3d now and he's doing some rumba dancing on my ribs as I type.

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 06/02/2024 18:49

@CheeseAndCrackersx how you getting on hun? Had any tightenings or anything like that x

CheeseAndCrackersx · 06/02/2024 20:13

Hi @MummyTo4BoysXXXX I've actually just been in the hospital cos I honestly thought something was starting but it's just still irregular tightenings but the midwife did end up giving me another sweep and that 1 was more brutal 😄
I'm defo in early labour but all depends when it progresses more I reckon xx

I guess him being my first it's hard to know what's happening xx

xTinkerbell · 07/02/2024 00:05

anony1111 · 07/02/2024 00:35

@xTinkerbell congratulations, so precious 💙 hope you both are doing well!

KayakingBex · 07/02/2024 03:17

@CheeseAndCrackersx - good luck 🤞

I had irregular cramps annd tightenings all of Monday then they just stopped 🫠. Guess it was just my uterus practicing.

@xTinkerbell - congratulations- he looks adorable! Wishing you a speedy recovery and hope all is going well.

Gardenfingers23 · 07/02/2024 04:11

Anyone else suffering from debilitating headaches?? I’m 38w2d and headache started yesterday at 6ish all up side of neck and head/behind eyes/jaw and I’ve not been able to sleep all night. Taken painkillers but not touching it. I had a similar headache about 4 weeks ago and went in to triage but all ok. I had MW appt on Monday and blood pressure was 116/78 so I’m assuming this isn’t hypertension/preeclampsia or anything but do you think I should get checked out again?? Feel like I’ll just be told it’s migraine related to hormones. Anyone else suffered and been able to do anything to ease the pain??!

anony1111 · 07/02/2024 05:21

@Gardenfingers23 that sounds awful, hope you feel better soon, I would definitely call triage just to see what they say. Better to get checked just to be on the safe side. Hope you manage to get some rest soon

LavenderSweetPea · 07/02/2024 05:31

@Gardenfingers23 I'd call and see what they say. I think things can change quickly at this stage so best to get it checked.

@xTinkerbell congratulations! What a lovely photo, you must be over the moon. How was the delivery? Hope you and baby are well

@CheeseAndCrackersx I hope the tightenings turn into more for you soon and baby won't keep you waiting too much longer

AllAboardTootToot · 07/02/2024 05:49

Congrats @xTinkerbell , he’s so cute! ❤️

@Gardenfingers23 - get that checked! I had the same and ended up with too much spinal fluid due and had to have it drained to release pressure. Apparently the way things were being compressed caused the build up. I’m under regular review for it. Better safe than sorry.

@xTinkerbell a massive congratulations! He is adorable 🥰

Allthatglittersisntart · 07/02/2024 07:01

I had headaches but mine are caused by excessive teeth grinding and DP is having to give me daily jaw and head massages. Whatever the cause, massage will probably help.

CharXo · 07/02/2024 07:48

Congratulations @xTinkerbell 🩵

good luck today @redxlondon hope it all goes well

HopeAndStrength · 07/02/2024 07:59

Good luck @redxlondon

I had an unplanned c section based on medical advice on the day my waters broke.

Baby's heart rate (and my own) had sky rocketted, and whilst mine was successfully brought down by fluids, little one was still too high for the doctor's liking.

The c section was advised as the safest option for baby at that point, and the team looking after us were brilliant. I agreed to the section and they opened another theatre for us within minutes.

I'm so grateful for all the support I've had in hospital this week, especially as baby is still in special care at the moment. Regarding birth, I was still able to do my breathing exercises and make the situation as positive as possible.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for your babies! You can do this.

Ebonythoughts · 07/02/2024 08:19

My Due date is today and I’m trying to tell myself these dates are just estimates because Labour does not seem to want to progess 🥺

If one more person in my family and friends circle asks if baby has arrived yet, I think I’ll explode 🙈

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/02/2024 08:40

Congratulations to those with new babies!! Absolutely beautiful and hope you're doing well ❤️

Can I ask a general Q re stretch marks? Has anyone got these? I didn't with my first, and now at almost 40 weeks, I suddenly woke up with them spreading across my stomach 😩 it sounds ridiculous but I'm almost tearful this morning

CheeseAndCrackersx · 07/02/2024 08:50

Thanks ladies 😊 I managed to sleep the best I could.

But now awake they're beginning again, starting from my back and spreading across to the front like yesterday.

I'd give anything to see even a teeny bit of mucus plug now just to know more is happening 😄

RainbowMama24 · 07/02/2024 09:17

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7@CheeseAndCrackersx I noticed stretch marks around the 38 weeks mark (I'm 40 weeks today) - they were all hiding under my belly where I couldn't see and for a while it made me extremely sad. Having said that my body has grown this baby for 9 months and we should all be extremely proud of that ☺️🩷

(New to this although I've been following the thread - didn't mean to tag you @CheeseAndCrackersx but I can't undo for some reason 🫣🫠)

RainbowMama24 · 07/02/2024 09:25

@Ebonythoughts Happy due date - today is also my due date. Off for another growth scan and midwife appointment. Baby had a growth spurt at 38 weeks and after my first growth scan they suggested an induction at 39 weeks. After speaking to the consultant the doctor agreed to scan again at 40 weeks. Mixed feelings as I'd prefer the baby to make an appearance naturally and prefer to make my own decisions 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

LavenderSweetPea · 07/02/2024 10:00

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes I have stretch marks. They're across my tummy in the area under my belly button :(

I never had them before so I feel a bit down about it. But I believe they'll become less obvious with time

Havanalily1806 · 07/02/2024 11:01

Congratulations @xTinkerbell 🩵

Re stretch marks I've not developed any, I've been using a decent moisturiser every day all through the pregnancy, but I do think it's genetic, checked with my mum a month or so ago and she never had any with either pregnancy, I don't think they're something you can really prevent. All very common and natural though and nothing anyone should worry about.

Havanalily1806 · 07/02/2024 11:06

I'm 40+4 today and actually going in to be induced shortly.

Always said I wanted to avoid induction, but have met and spoke with a few midwife's and doctors this week about my options.

Had an examination, scan and sweep on Monday and then another examination and sweep yesterday and my cervix was "favourable" only 1cm but had thinned and shortened compared to the day before, which puts me more at east that an induction may work okay.

Was told my waters could be broken as is but they will try a pessary first as it will be better if it can progress that way. Had lots of tightening yesterday but that has stopped again. Was hoping something may have happened over night but that would of course have been too easy.

Hope I'm not in for a long stint 🤞🏽

LavenderSweetPea · 07/02/2024 11:20

@Havanalily1806 good luck for today! My sister's both had very quick and straightforward inductions so it's definitely possible, I hope it's the same for you!
