Wow congratulations to all the new arrivals! And good luck to those expecting their little ones today! It's honestly made me more excited for my own little ones arrival but also nervous that it can literally happen any day now!
37 weeks today and officially full term 🎉🎉

anony1111 · 05/02/2024 11:39

@undercoverhero74 we finally made it 🤣 I don't know about you but feels like these past few weeks have dragged! I finally packed my hospital bag this morning 🙈 thought I best get my bum into gear now I'm 37 weeks.
How are you feeling?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 05/02/2024 11:43

@KayakingBex your pictures of your hand and arm looked so painful and uncomfortable. Hoping they can fit you in today and give you something that'll give you some relief

undercoverhero74 · 05/02/2024 12:00

@anony1111 I now right! I feel so far behind the others and feel like we are finally catching up!
I haven't packed my bag yet but will do over the next few days!
I'm feeling good, baby is still rolling around all over the place so definitely not engaged in anyway shape or form so could be here for the long run 😂
How are you? X

Kelb79 · 05/02/2024 12:12

Ohmygoodness so much to catch up on!!

HUGE congratulations to all the new arrivals!! Amazing!! 😍😍 it’s making it feel so much more real!! ❤️❤️

and big hugs to everyone who’s struggling now 🙏🏼❤️ I’m pretty comfortable most of the time (very lucky 🙏🏼🙏🏼) but the reflux and crap sleep is getting wearing 😐 it could be worse though and I’m still hoping they hold on for a little longer!

My Dad and brother are still in hospital. Dad is getting a bit better but things look pretty bad for my brother - praying hard right now 🙏🏼
I’d really like to get Dad home at least before baby comes otherwise he won’t be able to see his grandchild 😕

oh and I’ve joyously had piles pop out today!! 🥳🥳🙄 what creams did everyone recommend??? I tried looking back through the thread but can’t find it 🫣🫣

Have a chat with your pharmacist - I’ve tried three different ones, in agony. I tried two different Anusol, one with HC. Then because of pain I switched to Germoloids yesterday as that has lidocaine in it.
HC not recommended for pregnant women but I spoke to a midwife, so if pharmacist is being a bit funny you can give your midwife a call if you want reassurance on what you use.

Thewildthingsarewithme · 05/02/2024 12:41

Huge congratulations on all the new arrivals, enjoy the baby bubble ❤️
@Kelb79 i can imagine it’s so difficult but really try to prioritise your mental health as much as possible at this time. I had not dissimilar circumstances when I had my first and it led to a lot of postpartum health anxiety around my baby which I’m not entirely sure I’ve fully recovered from. Speak to your midwife about additional support for your mental health postpartum if necessary. Sending lots of love xx

anony1111 · 05/02/2024 13:55

@undercoverhero74 oh I'm glad I'm not the only one to leave it this late, everyone has been telling me I'm not organised 🙄
I'm glad you are feeling good! My boy is still rolling round like crazy too, sometimes it's like I have an alien trying to get out of my belly 😂
Is this your first baby? Sorry if I have asked you before, my memory is shocking.
I'm feeling tired and fed up now, PGP is making sleep very hard work so just feeling exhausted all the time. Im ready to meet baby that's for sure! x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 05/02/2024 14:09

@anony1111 def not the only one! I'm 39 weeks plus and only packed my bag at the weekend 🙈 and realise I have no newborn vests I have no idea why not. But I figure 0-3 months of a French brand (comes up small) will suffice. Hope your pgp gets better soon

AllAboardTootToot · 05/02/2024 14:10

Little girl has finally turned so she’s now head down! Thank god as really wasn’t wanting a section planned, want to try naturally and hope recovery is that not easier. But I know it doesn’t always work like that.

almost 37 weeks so it’s business end!

anony1111 · 05/02/2024 14:18

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 we obviously knew baby wouldn't be here by now 🤣 I'm sure the 0-3 vests will be absolutely fine. I haven't even bothered with newborn size this time round.
Thank you, hoping it disappears as soon as baby is born!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 05/02/2024 14:25

@anony1111 to be honest I didn't really bother last time with any newborn either- went straight to 0-3 and rolled up any sleeves that were too long. They're in it for such a short time 🙈

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 05/02/2024 14:26

And yep, maybe if we'd packed our bags we'd be out of our misery by now 🤣

Ebonythoughts · 05/02/2024 14:49

Midwives appointment went ok but I chickened out last min and turned down the sweep. As much as I want her out and I’m exhausted I really want to try and kick start things naturally. Midwife said I can come back Thursday if I change my mind.

Also some protein in my urine that they sent for test but blood pressure is find and no other signs of pre-eclampsia so we’ll see 🤷🏾‍♀️

Hope everyone is well today. I’m off for a nap because I literally slept for 2 hours last night with these contractions and it’s turned me into a moaning cow lol.

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 05/02/2024 15:10

won't tag individually but thanks to those who have wished me a happy birthday for yesterday ladies 😊

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 just thought I would let you know their is up to 50% off currently in Tescos on kids & baby clothing (funnily enough their wasnt any vests left in size 12-18months) but did notice they had baby sizes so might be worth checking out? Could pick a pack of vests up for like £3!

& massive congratulations to those of you who have had your babies over weekend, glad all is well 💕

Currently 39weeks today only 7 days to go for me now 😬 unless she has other ideas! 🤣 the wait is killing me but midwife comes to see me again on Wednesday to see if my cervix is favourable for a s&s so depending on her examination, still feel 50/50 on what to do. Anyone else feel same? :/

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 05/02/2024 15:11

@Ebonythoughts I had a trace of protein in my urine a couple of weeks ago which got sent off but all came back ok. My midwife said sometimes it can be because of cross contamination or something? lol

KayakingBex · 05/02/2024 15:21

@DmcinT @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 - thank you both. I got seen by the GP who sent me on to Maternity Assessment Unit as it was the most extreme version of the pregnancy rash she’s seen. Same with the midwife who took my bloods in MAU.

i didn’t hugely get much further but they did explain why they weren’t prescribing antihistamines- basically because I’m so close to giving birth being overdue - it can cause distress to baby which could be bad.

Doctor at hospital seems to be set on it being an allergic reaction but there’s nothing I'm allergic to that I’ve been in contact with.

I'm a bit worried it might be pemphigoid gestationis but GP didn’t seem to think so because although I have lots of blisters they are small not huge.

result is - I have to suffer until delivery (a week at most as I’ll be induced next Monday). If I get desperate and accept the risk I can get the antihistamine. If I break out why large blisters I can raise pemphigoid gestationis with them again.

On the upside I’ve been getting irregular period like cramps on and off all day so I’m hoping baby is finally on his way 🤞

@Kelb79 - got my fingers crossed for you that your dad gets home soon. It sounds very stressful - wishing you an easier time of it.

@anony1111 - I’ve just been repacking my maternity bag / chucking in a few bits I hadn’t got round to - figured I really should double check it given I’m getting cramps now. 😅

@Ebonythoughts - I’ve had trace protein in my urine last few times they’ve checked now. I’ve been told it’s common close to delivery.

anony1111 · 05/02/2024 16:23

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 exactly, unless you have a tiny baby I don't see the point, seems a waste.
🤣🤣 I think I produce lazy babies so I will be shocked if he makes an appearance before his due date

@KayakingBex so sorry your suffering with the rash, sounds so painful and irritating 😞
Probably a good time to get the bag all sorted 😂Fingers crossed the cramps progress 🤞🏼

undercoverhero74 · 05/02/2024 16:42

@anony1111 no this is my second baby, my little boy is nearly 5 so feel like I have forgotten a lot!! Is this your first?

Haha I agree with @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 maybe if we had packed our bags sooner the babies might have got a wiggle on. I'm very nearly at the point of having enough of pregnancy. I don't think I could continue for another 3-5 weeks! I'm so impatient and just want me body back now.

@AllAboardTootToot that's great news that baby has turned! Your due date must be similar to ours if your nearly 37 weeks. It's nice to know there are a few of us here for the long haul.

Hankthehonk · 05/02/2024 16:43

Thanks for all the lovely messages! Our wee boy was born at 9.23am and so far we're both doing well.
Thankfully Labour didn't advance even though my waters broke so it was a planned section on a new date (expedited section) rather than emergency.
It actually felt like a very chilled and positive experience, once I adjusted to the knowledge we weren't getting the next two weeks to rest and prepare after all!
So in love with my baby, can't wait for his big sister to meet him tomorrow.
Congratulations to all the other new arrivals 🎉

undercoverhero74 · 05/02/2024 16:45

Congratulations @Hankthehonk that's lovely news 🥰 you will have to let us know how the first meeting goes! Thats the one thing I'm really looking forward to, introducing my little one to his sister. It's going to be so magical x

Ebonythoughts · 05/02/2024 16:52

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX@KayakingBex thank you. I’m sure the protein is nothing to worry about, will try and relax today x

many congratulations @Hankthehonk !

novamama · 05/02/2024 17:01

@Hankthehonk many congratulations!! So pleased that you could get the C sec early and it have a calm one. Speedy recovery and enjoy the time with your little one ❤️

anony1111 · 05/02/2024 17:04

@undercoverhero74 I have a 6 year old and feel exactly the same! I kind of feel more worried this time round if I'm honest 🙈 it was a long time ago since the new born days!

@Hankthehonk many congratulations! So glad you had a lovely positive experience. Enjoy your newborn bubble 💙

CharXo · 05/02/2024 17:12

Congratulations @Hankthehonk 🥰 I’m so glad you had a positive experience! I have my section this week and I’m so so anxious about it I can’t sleep!
