Cannot believe we are on the 7th iteration and the babies are starting to arrive 😭❤️

I’m not a doctor but basing it off why they wouldn’t give repeat physical exams when I went into false labour because of problems it can cause including infection.

I think my tolerance levels may have dropped 🙌😂 Almost 37 weeks, growth scan today, think she’s still breech so hopefully have date for section soon as think it’s inevitable. Don’t want an ECV.

As @TheShellBeach has said a penis is not sterile. Using a sterile syringe (like one used for collecting colostrum) would be much cleaner then a sex.

This is entirely different to the physical examination you might get in the hospital because you do that they have to insert a finger INTO your cervix and open it to assess how dilated you are. They don't like doing it because it can artificially rupture your membrane, or could allow for germs to get beyond the cervix.

Neither sex nor a small syringe is going to be going through the cervix so shouldn't be a concern.

Had sex last night, wasn't as painful as I expecting. Very strange when your bump like contracts during though 🙈
Hope it's had some sort of effect for my 2nd sweep tomorrow 🤞🏻

I couldn't have asked for a better birth and feel very content as a family of 5!

My partner has been driving me up the wall the past few days, I know he's just a bit jittery about becoming a dad but he's doing all the nesting that I wanted to do and won't do what I want him to do. We keep snapping at each other

@novamama hope you're feeling better. It is overwhelming, I'm still working too, and trying to sort all the chaos at home, so I get how you're feeling. Just take it easy where you can. Don't worry about batch cooking. There are easy quick fresh meals you can make once baby is here, like fresh pasta, stir fries with ready chopped veg, baked potatoes etc. Don't tie yourself in knots trying to do everything x

@novamama thank you lovely. Didn’t sleep much through the contractions but they are still irregular. Have my midwife’s appointment in a couple of hours and if cervix is at all open I’ll request the sweep x

@Ebonythoughts yes I have irregular contractions also. Or rather they were regular through the night, coming every 10 to 11 minutes with a lot of nausea. But have all fizzled out now this morning. Hope your sweep goes okay later.

Kudos to all of you having sex. I honestly couldn't think of much worse right now. Got a sweep booked in later, but almost can't even be bothered with that also. Whoever said can't be arsed to have someone fiddle about with my bits, that's exactly how I feel. No energy or motivation 🤣

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you for your kind words. I do feel better mentally this morning, physically still very tired. That's a good point, there are easy meals we could try if needed. I'll try to take it as slowly as I can this week. One step at a time.

Tension quite high here too @Cheetocat - husband wanting to do the chores to prepare for baby so I can rest, which is lovely, but unfortunately we have different ideas as to what the priorities should be! X

I started having some last night but they tailed off. Wondered if my body was having a practice run? I’m kinda hoping not today as I think my arm has got an infection from that pregnancy rash I have - it would be nice to get that under control first!

Fighting to get an appointment with GP this morning. They wanted to wait until blood test results tomorrow (I was told Monday originally) I’m insisting I need to be seen today as arm is now blistered, swollen and hot to touch.

@novamama on the food, u might find places near u that do large trays of different meals, lasagne, curries etc… there’s a few places near me. I could just cook them and portion them out and it’s all done ❤️

i still have no signs! in with consultant on Wednesday and don’t know if I should ask for a sweep or keep waiting, my patience are at zero 😞 baby is also measuring 2 weeks ahead so well overdue at this stage and that is freaking me out🙈 (even though the growth scan measurements can be way off too)
