@Havanalily1806 They wanted me in for induction due to gestational diabetes but I'm 40+1 now and still no sign of actually being induced by breaking my waters as the emergencies are going ahead of me (rightly so) onto delivery. Seems very pointless me being here to be honest!

I'm really sorry! That is the downside of induction, you can be waiting ages for a spot on the labour ward. Sympathies I know how frustrating it is

Well that’s another week nearly done ladies! Time for Call the Midwife and a big mug of raspberry leaf tea 🤣

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 04/02/2024 20:14

Well ladies it's my birthday today so seems like no babies have been born today & I've been wishing that our girl would of arrived today to give me an extra present but seems like she is comfy on the inside! Typical 🤣 so here's to another week ladies of our forever growing bumps!! 🍻 😂

CharXo · 04/02/2024 20:14

I feel like there might be lots of babies born this week 🥰 good luck ladies to those of you that are due/being induced etc 💖

TheShellBeach · 04/02/2024 20:21

Happy Birthday @MummyTo4BoysXXXX

LavenderSweetPea · 04/02/2024 20:47

Ladies who are thinking of sex to try and soften cervix bit are too uncomfortable to dtd, bit unorthodox perhaps but it's supposed to be the semen that softens the cervix rather than actually having sex. You could use a syringe and do artificial insemination.... Should have the same effect

CheeseAndCrackersx · 04/02/2024 20:56

I feel like I'm nesting a little but in a way of making sure everything for him is out and ready where it should be 😀

novamama · 04/02/2024 21:41

I just felt like sharing that I cried due to exhaustion today.

I've tried to batch cook today, which I managed (one dish); grocery shopping, fridge cleaning, did 3 loads of laundry and folding but there are loads of piles of (baby) clothes to be washed and plus the house is a total mess. Hubby has been working nights and will do so more this week so I'm all alone. I reached 39 weeks today and if baby decides tot come right now I would not be able to labour so tired.

Tomorrow back at work yay! I cannot take leave before baby comes and I feel so gutted to be starting the week so exhausted.

Nothing I'm asking for ladies, just felt like sharing.

The risk of infection from inserting something that may not be sterile does not outweigh the potential small chance of inducing labour, which must be minuscule. I’ve never heard of this, did a midwife recommend??

Meeting · 04/02/2024 22:17

I've been having weird cramps on and off for a couple of hours but I'd say they are more uncomfortable than painful. Has anyone else had these?

novamama · 04/02/2024 22:19

@Meeting Ive had pre-period-like cramps this week that lasted for 3 days, associated with very strong Brackston Hicks, if it helps. They have now subsided but still get them ocasionally for a couple of hours here and there

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 04/02/2024 22:29

@TheShellBeach thank you 😊
@CheeseAndCrackersx this is exactly what I have been doing for the last 4/5days but seems like it's never-ending on things to do, packed our hospital bags lastnight just in case little one decided to come on my birthday 😂
@novamama fully know how you feel hun but if theirs any advice I would give its this (as I have been doing myself over last few days) don't try to do too much all at once in 1 go, simplify your "things to do" and do a little something each day, just break it down 😀 and try to sit down after and have a rest! I've been doing this as if I do too much I end up with tightening pains & fanny daggers 😅 I'm worried about getting myself too exhausted I will struggle when it comes to giving birth so I know how you feel 100% plus all weekend I've been running around after 4 boys which isn't easy but that's my full time job afterall!.. Don't be too harsh on yourself, your doing great! Little by little remember & take a rest inbetween on sofa x

Edited

The penis is not sterile.

Meeting · 04/02/2024 22:31

@novamama I'm not sure now to describe these but they do feel sort of like cramps, hoping it means something is starting to happen. So sorry to hear you've had a bad day, I feel constantly exhausted too so can't imagine how hard it must be for you still having to work. Hope tomorrow is a better day x

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 04/02/2024 22:33

TheShellBeach · 04/02/2024 22:29

😂 just stick to the physical side of things ladies to be on safe side! 😅

novamama · 04/02/2024 22:39

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX

Happy birthday, and thank you so much for your words of wisdom! That's a good idea, I should try to rest in between tasks more often. Maybe even nap!
I honestly don't know how you do it, to have 4 boys around to be cared for and be at the end of pregnancy, honestly hats off to you!!

I cannot imagine how'd be even with one toddler right now for me, but 4!? Wow, you're a super mama certainly!

@Meeting thank you lovely. Hopefully tomorrow is kinder. Regarding cramps, it's definitely exciting because they could evolve into something more! Midwives told me to take paracetamol for the pain and to call them if the cramps intensify or if I start having regular contractions. If you need support, definitely give them a call!

anony1111 · 04/02/2024 22:40

Maybe TMI but the bum daggers are so bad tonight 😑 I'm literally sweating because they are so painful 🙈 why is pregnancy so glamorous?! I'm sure whoever created humans hated us woman 😂😂

Ebonythoughts · 04/02/2024 22:51

I cried from exhaustion too today but haven’t done anything near as much as you. Just went for a 30 min walk and sorted out some clothes but contractions have been stopping me in my tracks and I just feel over it now. I’m only 5”2 and the baby is big so just feel really heavy. My due date is Tuesday and I have an appointment booked with the midwife tomorrow where she offered me a sweep. I was going to decline but the way I feel tonight I think I might accept it and see what happens.

I feel like I’ve been moaning to my poor DH for the past 2/3 weeks and I know it won’t change anything but just want to cry again now.

Cheetocat · 04/02/2024 23:05

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX Happy birthday! Hope you had a lovely day.

No sign of my little one coming out today either, I even did a big shop and built him a chest of IKEA drawers but no labour signs. 🤣

Hankthehonk · 05/02/2024 01:06

I updated the other day to say my c section was booked for 20th -- well, baby had other plans.
After a day of increasing pain my waters went at 9pm. I'll be taken down for my section at 7am.
It feels so strange that I'll meet him in a matter of hours. Labour isn't progressing and hopefully it stays that way since he's breech.
I'm 37+3 and quickly getting past the shock of not having a couple of weeks to rest and get organised! Wish me luck

Callmemummynotmaaa · 05/02/2024 01:11

@Hankthehonk best of luck for the am. Sorry it wasn’t as planned. Hope surgery goes safely and you have him in arms soon x

Callmemummynotmaaa · 05/02/2024 01:11

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX happy birthday lovely x

Ebonythoughts · 05/02/2024 02:13

All the best! Hope you and baby have a smooth and save union! X

anony1111 · 05/02/2024 04:30

@Hankthehonk hope everything goes well with your section today. Baby was impatient and wanted to meet their mummy sooner 🥰
