Hello all, I haven't posted here much, but I have kept reading everyone's stories since i first posted on this thread, and people were so caring and reassuring.

Had my booking in appointment yesterday and the scan showed a fairly active bean, which thrilled me to bits. Am now 14 weeks, and feel like i might tentatively join the due in september thread. My m/c was at 10 weeks, so I feel like I'm slowly coming out of the woods.

Thanks to everyone on here for all the support you give each other. And good luck to you all, I hope the knicker checking continues to be uneventful!

EllieG · 21/03/2008 21:14

Hey all -

Kate - am so sorry to hear your news. I don't have any advice to offer am afraid, but am thinking of you and your DH.

Oblomov - welcome. Anything goes here - be as depressing as you like we all understand x

Lovely news about scans going well jacwac and rainrain x

splishsplosh · 21/03/2008 22:42

Kate - I'm so sorry to hear your news.
On other threads I've read about the Fetal Medicine Centre in London, and it seems people reckon Prof Nicolaides has never had anyone mc after a cvs. I don't know what it would cost, but if you're worried about the risk to your baby from the procedure, then maybe that's something to consider, if his stats are so good? I just hope that your lo is a miracle baby and all is ok

Jacwac and rainrain - glad to hear your scans were good.

I got back my blood test results after the combined test, and the NT measurement was 0.7mm, with the blood test, the risk of downs is 1:3900 which is good. Not that I think it would make a difference to me, but it's nice to have 1 worry lessened.

Gone back to worrying that something could have gone wrong since the scan a wek ago. When I saw the mw for my booking in on Monday she couldn't feel anything still - I know it's supposed to move up around 12 weeks - so is that bang on 12 weeks, or bit later??? I'm a bit podgier, but that's easily explained by my huge appetite for junk right now. Still hurts to feed dd, but absolutely no other evidence to indicate baby is on board.

Congratulations Spugs
Jules Enjoy your weekend away
Hope everybody else is OK.

kate2179 · 22/03/2008 12:15

Thank you ladies, just a very quick one as away til sunday night but wanted to thank you all for your support. It doesn't really feel real... Not sure what the baby was measuring yesterday but certainly as of last friday it was measuring right for dates and has done throughout... Trying not to get hopes up though, don't think there's much point in being optimistic at this stage, either the baby has a complete extra set of chromosones or it doesn't. Jules it's not like translocation, babies just cannot survive triploidy, full stop.
p2b thank you so much for your message, I did a search for triploidy on mn y'day and your name came up so I was hoping you might be in touch. Would you mind if we had an actual chat at some point? No problem if you'd rather not.
cece thank you too, I've always felt for you with what you went through with Hope, but now it seems so much more real. You were 18weeks when she was born weren't you? If we terminate after the amnio I'll be 18 weeks too - if the baby makes it that long...
Think I will call the fetal medicine centre on tuesday anyway, even thought we are really pleased with the care we have got from the consultant this time round, so different from the hospital we were at last time. Almost feel a bit guilty about looking elsewhere, which I suspect is silly...

In other news...

FANTASTIC news spugs!! CONGRATULATIONS!

lackaDAISYcal · 22/03/2008 13:13

kate, I am so so sorry sweets . I can't imagine the decisions you are having to make. Wishinhg you and your DH all the strength you need to get through this. Take Care.xx

What a worry. Can I also suggest you join the SANDS forum. There are lots of lovely ladies on there and there is a little section for women who have had to make the same decision that you may be faced with. Yes Hope was 18 weeks, thank yo for remembering.

Spugs look forward to birth story and congratulations.

scully · 23/03/2008 06:30

Congrats Spugs
Sorry to hear your news Kate I also have no experience of either test, I'm sure you'll get some good advice on here though
Hope your scan brings good news on Tues Don
My 2nd scan is on Thurs, still have pregnancy symptoms but not reading too much into those. We got back today from a 3 day break away at the beach which was wonderful. Really took our minds off the last couple of weeks and we got relax and have some nice family time.
Well done for everyone else who have had good scan results in the last week

lackaDAISYcal · 23/03/2008 10:05

Spugs, congratulations on the birth of your LO

scully, glad you had a nice break and were able to relax a bit. fingers crossed for you still .

Happy Easter to everyone

donbean · 23/03/2008 11:15

pregnancy symptoms now gone completely.
little bit of bleeding.
Just want them to confirm for me on Tues at scan.
Can any one tell me what the name of the medication it is that you can take to induce mc?

KashaSarrasin · 23/03/2008 13:32

kate I'm so sorry you're going through this, the worrying must be agonizing . I've also heard very good things about the Fetal Medicine Centre. I've got everything crossed for you and your beanie xxx

donbean (((hugs))) No idea about the meds, sorry. In my area they only offer ERPC or natural, I think

Hello Oblomov I haven't dared post on my antenatal thread (Sept) yet either, although I've been lurking. I love this thread as there's so much support

spugs CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Ismay is a beautiful name .

perkypopsy · 23/03/2008 15:52

Hi Everyone hope you are having a good Easter Day. We had our family day yesterday so today I'm on the sofa where I belong

kate honey so so sorry about your news - you have been through so much already and have been so strong and positive - and it just keeps on coming - I wish I could do something for you - the problem with MN is it all stops here in virtual reality when sometimes someone just needs a big hug . I like to think that in another world we are all there for you in real life giving you a massive group hug and protecting you from all the pain...

spugs I can't believe Ismay is here - where has the time gone? Well done you clever lady you!

splishy how far along are you? I too have no outward signs - I think every woman is supposed to be different - some women don't don't show for ages so I'm hoping that is true for me - I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow. I am still sick as a dog though so that is keeping me positive (tentative)

p2b · 23/03/2008 19:35

Kate

Sorry I've not replied earlier. How are you doing? Yes of course I am very happy to chat. Please feel free to send me an email at [email protected]. Have been thinking of you.

p2b

ronshar · 24/03/2008 10:05

Kate I am not sure what to say to make all this easier for you.
I have had to terminate for medical reasons before. I dont ever tell anyone because part of me is a bit ashamed but I also know that I made absolutely the right decision. My little one would not have survived the pregnancy so I didnt see the point in prolonging a terrible ordeal. I am sharing this with you because I wanted you to know that it is a hard hard thing to do and it can only ever be your indivdual decision. Are you & DH strong enough to endure a pregnancy and birth which will end in terrible pain for all concerned?
The memories dont ever go away but you can go on to have healthy babies. I have. Two.
I wish you all the strength and love to get you and DH through this ordeal.

lulu1414 · 24/03/2008 11:11

Dear all- I had a mmc at 13 wks Oct 06 and it took me until now to conceive again. As you all well know I am now panicking and freaking out. I think I am 6 weeks and have had a fair amount of nausea and sore boobs. But today I have neither and I'm worried. Do your symptoms come and go or is this a bad sign??

perkypopsy · 24/03/2008 11:15

Lulu have a read over the thread (in fact any of the PG threads) and you'll see we have all been pannicking from one day to the next as our symptoms come and go - I wish I could just enjoy my symptomless days (hours) because the sickness comes back with a vengence soon enough and I start wondering if I am ever going to feel normal again. Also - my (.)(.) were really sore weeks 5-8 but are fine now so don't fret.

(had to get the booby pic in to cheer everyone up )

Ronny - you have certainly been through the mill too haven't you-is good to know you have 2 gorg girls (and another on the way hooray)

lulu1414 · 24/03/2008 11:19

Thanks, I did read over the thread and knew this was the place to ask. Thanks for the booby pic- cheered me up! Its just so stressful. I imagine my boobs will start hurting as I've been poking at them so much to see if they hurt!

Also- I'm so sorry for those of you who have been having such a rough time.

perkypopsy · 24/03/2008 11:36

yeah I poke all the time too - spesh my belly - feels weird in the morning when I need the loo - like my bladder is high up and over to left side need to get my anatomy text books out cos fels like am going to have a bladder baby at this rate

Hiya jules so much good news in the house of JJ! Your mum must be cock-a-hoop

DH has been dismantling his office which will be called the "box room" for at least another couple of months - he is moving into his own office at work so would be doing this anyway but is very unsettling and far too forward-thinking for me (though did tell him that repaint had to be sunshine yellow just in case ) YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!

makecakesnotwar · 24/03/2008 15:32

JJ- 22 weeks, that's great news!

Lulu- I am so so pleased for you. I don't know if you are the same Lulu who was on the Clomid and ttc threads. I was flosspot. And I am 30 weeks pregnant. I have been terrified every single day that things don't feel right. This thread and others have kept me sane. I am keeping everything crossed that everything will be fine for you. And for Ronshar and all the other familiar faces.

Kate-it's mpossible what to say at this time because everything sounds so trite. Please know that I am thinking of you and your family.

And finally spugs- congratulations. I cannot wait to be where you are!
