I know what you mean, only half a year ago she was just a lil sleeping baby, now shes like a proper little person lol sounds silly haha her fave thing atm is rolling around the living room, she not all that keen on sitting up but she will for a few minutes before she lunges at a toy n ends up rolling around again lol she has 4 older siblings so i think she is wanting to get on the move n follow them haha xx

Nclktnntt · 08/07/2024 20:34

@Avie29 our little one was 6 months on Friday too! Happy half birthday to your lil one.

We're getting on good. Started weaning on Thursday. He's not sure on courgettes and banana but everything else has been a hit so far. I'm going to try him on porridge tomorrow. From day one he took the spoon off me though, today he tried dipping it back in the food. Have you started weaning yet?

@Nclktnntt awww same birthday ☺️, yea we started early at 4.5 months with some baby rice as she was showing interest in food and trying to take food out of our hands lol she now steals food from my plate to chomp on n chuck on the floor lol cheeky little madam, so glad your lo is doing well with weaning, it makes it easier when they enjoy food bless xx

Hey 👋 anyones baby started crawling yet? My little girl can get up on her hands and knees and will rock- shuffle forward slightly n then fall on her face 😔 she is getting quite frustrated/upset with herself, but its all she wants to do poor baby, how long do you think until shes off? having a few very moany days, heat isn’t helping either, how is everyone else doing? Xx

99SR · 20/07/2024 07:57

@Avie29 thats amazing! My baby isn’t crawling yet. She’s sitting up and rolling over independently but that’s it. She had Covid 2 weeks ago and had it really bad so was in hospital 😭 ever since then her sleep has went to pot! She was sleeping for 12hrs at a time with no wakings now she’s sleeping for about 9/10hrs (which makes for a cranky baby in the day) and waking up about 4/5 times and also won’t self soothe anymore! Please someone tell me she’ll go back to her old ways lol x

Avie29 · 20/07/2024 08:19

@99SR oh no poor baby 😔 so scary when they end up in hospital isn’t it.
i feel for you, my little girl used to sleep 7-8 hours until her second jabs and she now only sleeps 2-3 🥱 i really hoping it gets better soon, as i can no longer cosleep with her, i caught her just before she rolled off the bed this morning 😨 🤦🏻‍♀️ xx

Mushroo · 20/07/2024 17:22

Sleep terrible here as well! She used to self settle for naps and wake once or twice in the night.

She now refuses all naps unless we rock her, and wakes every 2 hours, it’s worse than newborn!

Avie29 · 20/07/2024 21:42

@Mushroo agreed, my baby girl definitely slept better as a newborn, i read somewhere that when they are learning lots of new things they sleep less, as they get older and their learning slows down they become better sleepers (about a year, as they learnt most of their major milestones) which i guess makes sense, my little girl hit 4 months and stopped sleeping well but in the last 2 months she has learnt to roll both ways, learnt to eat solid foods, learnt to sit, spin on her tummy, get on all fours and move backwards across the floor its alot bless her, so once she’s mastered crawling n no major milestones then until walking im hoping she sleeps a bit better haha 🤞 😂 xx

99SR · 20/07/2024 22:55

@Mushroo this is my baby!!! 😭 so hard isn’t it. She’s staying at the grandparents tonight so I can get a full night sleep lol!

Nclktnntt · 24/07/2024 06:14

Hi everyone. My little one hit 6 months and he stopped self soothing at night. I googled to see if it was a regression and they have one 6-7 months 8-9 month and 12 months I think it said. But this one's a big one because they're learning so much all at the same time whilst also becoming more curious about the world around them.

My little one has started self soothing again thankfully but this morning he's been awake since 5:30 and just chilling in his bed, I was hoping he'd go back to sleep but nope just rolling around and babbling 😂 he's content though so I'm letting him rest a little. And me 😂

Any of you runners? Have you managed to get back into running? I decided this week I'm starting again, did a benchmark run Sunday and a 30min walk/run yesterday with the pram. Felt good, but hard to run with a pram (I say run, more jog really slowly and could probably walk faster 😂) so thinking of getting a proper running pram now.

@99SR so glad your little ones better again - her sleep might not be back because she's still recovering maybe? Like us, we're better but still get tired out really easy and maybe that's why she gets cranky and sleeps worse ? Dunno, just thinking it makes sense if so. When my husband has Covid it always effects him for at least 2 weeks after.

99SR · 24/07/2024 06:57

@Nclktnntt I definitely think it was covid that had made her so cranky and disrupted her sleep. I would say she’s still out of sorts to be honest! Sleep is getting a little better but the past two nights it’s taken us over an hour to get her down. She screamed when being rocked then screams when lying in the cot so yeah that’s been fun. Poor wee thing!

Oh bless her! How old is she now? Our little one did that last week 2 hours the one night. We should have just let him be awake I think, but her was so tired. I'd started to wonder what we were doing wrong, like feeding times (as weening) vs napping enough and getting enough active play during wake windows. I think it was the regression and weather in his case as the room was around 21 deg with the aircon on but we were hot so would have made him hot, but he won't go to sleep on his own in his cot yet. It's so difficult when they get like that isn't it.

It could also be the separation anxiety if she's not yet 100%, I've been reading a lot about that to understand why he suddenly started fighting bed time and naps like a pro. I don't get how they can stay awake for so long when they're sooop tired.

Hi ladies, I haven’t posted on here in months! Hope you’re all well😊

is anybody else’s baby really fighting their naps? We went through a phase last month of this but it only lasted 3/4 days. He’s started doing it again now and can be awake for a good 6-7 hours, then only naps for half an hour or so😩

Hey 👋 yes my little lady done 7-8 hours yesterday no nap, she started to drift off, for her usual afternoon nap, woke and then refused to go to sleep until bedtime then, she doesn’t nap for very long/very much anyway about 30/40mins twice a day, she did the same thing couple days ago with her morning nap, so i brought her back downstairs left her to play in the living room to get her lunch and came back in to find her asleep on the living room floor 😂 xx

She’s 7.5m, she caught covid 3 weeks ago! That’s like me, I wonder when she gets like that should I give up and take her back down stairs? But then I see her eyes rolling into the back of her head cause she’s so tired lol. Last night was the same again, an hour before she was sleeping! This mornings nap (we are early risers in this house so first nap is at 8am 😳😴🤣) she fought it for about 5/10 mins then fell asleep.

99SR · 25/07/2024 08:45

on the topic of naps, what’s your 7m olds napping day looking like? Lol. We usually have 3 naps with the last one ending somewhere between 4/4.30pm then have dinner at 5pm then bath at 5.45/6pm then put her into her cot for bottle and bed at 6.30/7pm. Clearly isn’t working for us so I’m going to try have her awake by 3.30pm today then do the same routine later but maybe try a bit more floor play time to tire her out? What’s everyone else doing? These naps will be the death of me 🤣

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 25/07/2024 09:30

Mine is swapping between 3 and 2 naps but is happier when has 3. Night sleep still a shit show so maybe that's why 🤣.

Usual awake: 5:30-6am (if yesterday was 2 nap day), more like 7 if it was a 3 nap day.
Naps for 3 nap day: 9:45-10:30, 1-2, 4:30-5:30, bed at 9.
Naps 2 nap day: 10-11, 2-4, bed 7:30.

3 naps, later bedtime works best for him but he still won't sleep longer than 2 hour stretches so 🤷‍♀️

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 25/07/2024 09:33

I will say, I used to be able to put him down for a nap in bed and he'd sleep an hour and a half. Now I'd I do that he sleeps 20 min. I need to contact nap or lie next to him with his hand on my boob 😅

Mushroo · 25/07/2024 10:37

We did Ferber and so far it’s amazing. I was really against it but we were at the point she was crying for over an hour with us rocking her anyway.

First night we put her down, she was hysterical as usual and I was 100% convinced it wasn’t going to work and we were damaging her forever. It was TOUGH.

She fell sleep within 27 mins and never went longer than 4 mins without us comforting her. She’s cried longer in her car seat.

last night (second night) she was asleep in 9 mins, and we just had one night wake up for feeding compared to hourly wake ups.

She’s just gone down for her nap no crying and straight off to sleep.

Honestly I was so against it, but she seems completely unfazed and I feel like such a better well rested parent, I was losing my mind,

I know it’s not for everyone but from being very skeptical I’d recommend.

99SR · 25/07/2024 15:09

@FlyingHighFlyingLow my LO is better with 3 naps too as we’re up at 5am.
your naps sound rough! Hopefully just a phase and hel go back down in bed for a bit longer again soon!

@Mushroo im glad it’s working! How old is your LO? Do you go in every 4 minutes? Were in the same boat I.e trying to rock her as she’s screaming. Then everyone just gets overwhelmed and she gets too hot because I get too hot.. it’s a nightmare! I did end up lying her down last night as I needed a minute then when I looked on the monitor she had started to settle.

Mushroo · 25/07/2024 15:27

@99SR she’s just turned 7 months. We were the same - with the rocking everyone was just getting hot and stressed and all sleep was a battle.

We did it based on the Pampers website (if you just Google Pampers Ferber it’ll come up) so you go in in increasing intervals but don’t pick up.

TBH she got more upset when we went in but I couldn’t do proper cry it out (although actually it probably would have been quicker!)

99SR · 25/07/2024 21:12

@Mushroo thanks, I’ll have a read. Tonight I made sure she had a 3hr wake window before taking her to her cot. Read a story, gave her a bottle then just kissed her and said goodnight. She fidgeted for around 10 mins (I put the dummy in once but just walked straight out the room) then she was asleep! Hopefully more nights like this lol. Hope your night was ok too!

Mushroo · 25/07/2024 21:16

@99SR amazing!

Yes a great night here too, no tears at all, I’m hoping that means a good night ahead (although she ended up going to bed at 6:30 which is far too early, but naps just didn’t fall right)

Avie29 · 26/07/2024 09:04

Feel like a baddie mummy today 😔, she was up for 3 hours last night, finally managed to put her back to bed at 3:45 (i still hadn’t been to sleep by this time) she woke again at 6 so i brought her in with me for feed and i fell asleep 😥 and she rolled off the bed and bumped her head on my bedside table 😢 she got a little lump on her head, poor baby xx
