Hello ladies!! I feel like I've forgotten someone but not sure who?!

@Agathapoirot Aww yay how exciting! Are you starting to feel less anxious about things? I agree, abdominal scans are much more enjoyable, the internal ones are so bloody uncomfortable!

@Amberellaella I'm actually getting a prescription on Monday for some tablets to help me sleep that are also anti nausea but I can't remember what they're called... I wonder if it's the same thing? My symptoms haven't been too bad today which is obviously making me spiral!

I realised earlier that I think I may actually subconsciously have been expecting to miscarry again... now that the end of the first trimester is in sight and doesn't feel that far away I keep panicking about how horrendous a mc would be after that, almost like I'm wanting it to just happen now and be over with before it gets too far along (not saying I want to MC, I don't know how to explain it) does this make any sense at all to anyone??

I am, I’m much further along than I made it before, which is a nice feeling and I do feel a little more positive each day.

I could have written your last bit myself, up to this point it’s felt more like when not if. It’s only recently that I feel like this could end up in an actual baby!

Amberellaella · 03/12/2023 12:09

Had my scan this morning - all still A-Ok at 8 weeks ☺️

I totally get how you are all feeling - today is definitely the first time I’ve really thought we might get a take home baby ☺️

Agathapoirot · 03/12/2023 13:48

Great news 🥰 do you have your booking appointment/dating scan dates?

Amberellaella · 03/12/2023 15:34

Booking appt is on Tuesday, I think I’ll get the dating scan date after that x

Kewchoc · 03/12/2023 20:23

@Amberellaella Oh this is fantastic news 😊 you must be so happy, and how exciting that your booking appointment is this week too!

I'm really starting to worry as my symptoms have most definitely eased off the last couple of days and tonight my boobs aren't even sore at all, but they have been for weeks. Trying to reassure myself and looking online it appears that it is quite common for symptoms to ease off around 8 weeks. Plus my scan was only last weekend and everything was perfect then. Just wish I still felt crap, even though I know that doesn't necessarily mean all is okay anyway!

Agathapoirot · 03/12/2023 20:44

@Kewchoc - Totally get why you feel that way, but if it makes you feel any better, mine fluctuated all the way through!

Do you have any more scans booked?

Kewchoc · 03/12/2023 20:50

@Agathapoirot Oh really? Literally all of them though? Yes, we were going to go for another scan on Saturday but I'm tempted to book it for earlier in the week

OP posts:
Agathapoirot · 03/12/2023 20:56

Yep, the tiredness is probably the only thing that’s remained consistent, but the nausea was very adhoc and the only other thing is sore boobs, and that’s definitely disappeared for a few days/week and then returned!

I’d say on the scan, do what you need to do. If a scan earlier than Saturday would make you feel better, then why not. After what we’ve all been through, the reassurance is needed. X

Amberellaella · 04/12/2023 06:39

I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about @Kewchoc. This probably happened with your DS as well and you’ve forgotten. But yes, book the scan a few days early! Definitely worth it for the piece of mind… And they grow so fast at this stage that you’re definitely going to see progress from last week x

Kewchoc · 04/12/2023 08:28

I guess you're both right! I still woke up constantly through the night and still super bloated so I guess if I think logically it's only actually the nausea that's eased off and my boobs aren't as sore, but they do still look bigger so maybe they've just stopped growing so fast? Can't decide what to do, I do want to book the scan for earlier in the week for reassurance but then that means a longer wait between that one and the 12 week one. Argh! I'll be so glad to get to the point where I can feel the baby moving, at least that way i can give them a prod and feel them wriggle haha

tlw14 · 04/12/2023 08:42

@Kewchoc do whatever you need to for peace of mind. Nobody can blame us for worrying!

@Amberellaella Great to hear your scan went well! I have my booking appointment next friday and then scan on the 28th. Seems like ages away but i am sure it will fly by.

I think i am going to book another scan for next week, probably towards the end of the week so that it near enough 2 weeks until the 12 week one.

Kewchoc · 04/12/2023 11:01

@tlw14 Yeah you're absolutely right. I've contacted my GP this morning to ask if they will refer me to EPAU... I know it's not normal process for after one first trimester miscarriage but I was only just out of second trimester so hoping they agree!

OP posts:
Kewchoc · 04/12/2023 13:12

Still haven't heard back from my GP but I've rang the EPAU directly and they have agreed to let me have a scan tomorrow. Not sure how to feel about it cause it just seems like it's going to be bad news 😞 hoping it's just my anxiety tricking me but I'm not feeling very positive

OP posts:
Amberellaella · 04/12/2023 13:54

Awwww, mate @Kewchoc. Easier said than done, I know, but try not to worry. At least you don’t have to wait long until the scan. Maybe do something nice this afternoon to try to keep your mind off it, coffee date and a good long chat with someone IRL maybe.

I had to call in sick to work today as feeling too wiped out to function… They say it all peaks at nine weeks though so hopefully I’ll start to feel a bit better soon.

Kewchoc · 04/12/2023 14:53

@Amberellaella Im working until 6 today unfortunately so won't get chance to do anything nice, but at least it will make the day pass more quickly. Part of me is thinking that my anxiety has just taken over and I'm perceiving things as worse than they actually are but I guess I'll find out tomorrow. I have still had some slight nausea today and boobs definitely felt heavy again earlier but I dunno. Just trying to focus on how I had minimal symptoms when pregnant with ds and he was fine!

Oh have you really, are work ok with you taking time off or are they funny about it? Hope you've managed to get some rest and feel a little better xx

Ah well, I’m an academic, so you’re pretty much your own boss. The only problem is that there’s no one else who can do exactly what you do, so it’s all still waiting for you when you get back from sick/maternity/holiday leave. I did have some teaching this week, but I arranged for a colleague to cover that in advance in exchange for me picking up some of his marking next term 😂

Kewchoc · 04/12/2023 17:03

@Amberellaella Ahhhh I see how there can be pros and cons to that! I have heard from friends who are teachers how dull and relentless marking is though, so sounds like a fair deal 🤣

OP posts:
Agathapoirot · 04/12/2023 18:46

Glad your EPAU have agreed to see you @Kewchoc. I have fingers and toes crossed that this is just your understandable anxiety, and everything will be perfect tomorrow. Let us know how it goes x

Agathapoirot · 05/12/2023 12:54

Thinking of you today @Kewchoc x

Kewchoc · 05/12/2023 13:08

@Agathapoirot thank you, my scan is at 2.20pm so not long to go

OP posts:
Kewchoc · 05/12/2023 14:14

Just sat waiting and already getting upset, it's obviously the exact same place I came when the mc started last time and I got rushed back through the waiting area I'm in now on a stretcher 😞

OP posts:
Amberellaella · 05/12/2023 14:55

@Kewchoc have you gone in yet? All Ok? X

Kewchoc · 05/12/2023 14:56

Just been scanned... everything looking good, saw the heartbeat and baby is measuring 8+3 so actually a day ahead! The sonographer said she can't see anything at all that's concerning and everything looks great 🥰 so looks like it has just been a case of me getting too anxious!

OP posts:
Agathapoirot · 05/12/2023 15:06

Oh that’s the best news, so glad it was a happy outcome x
