Hello ladies!! I feel like I've forgotten someone but not sure who?!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Amberellaella · 25/11/2023 12:21

Good on you both - I don’t think I gave enough energy to run to the local shop at the minute 😂 I remember it coming back about halfway through the second trimester when I was pregnant with DD x

Kewchoc · 25/11/2023 14:21

Thanks. I was worrying about being late so we're on our way now, though I feel surprisingly calm about it at the moment!

Kewchoc · 25/11/2023 14:57

Ok currently sat in the waiting room and I am no longer calm ha I'm so worried that things will be measuring behind again

OP posts:
Amberellaella · 25/11/2023 15:24

@Kewchoc you’ve probs gone in already but if not - You got this!!

Kewchoc · 25/11/2023 15:33

Just got out... dated at 6+6 which is exactly what it should be and saw a little flickering heartbeat 😊 much more reassuring than last time! Though I feel quite detached still, I don't think I will really start getting excited until after 12 weeks x

OP posts:
Amberellaella · 25/11/2023 16:25

Wooo! @Kewchoc. That’s excellent news ☺️ Are you going again or waiting for the 12 week one? X

Agathapoirot · 25/11/2023 17:40

Fantastic news!!! So pleased for you 🤩 x

Kewchoc · 25/11/2023 18:21

Thanks both 😊 I'm going to book another scan for when I'm 9 weeks and then wait until the 12 week scan after that! I must admit I wasn't overly keen on the sonographer today, I asked if she could see where the baby had implanted (as in was it high up, on the side etc) and she said "the baby is in your uterus" then proceeded to explain the female anatomy to me 🤣 she was training and had another staff member guiding her so I didn't have the heart to say "do you genuinely think I wasn't aware the baby would be in my uterus?" 🤣

Amberellaella · 26/11/2023 07:03

Ha! @Kewchoc I bet it was hard not to laugh 😆 Hopefully you’ll have a more experienced person next time and they can give you some proper insight! I didn’t think to ask, but I think given where she said my cervix was, baby is on the left about halfway up. Of course she was looking from loads of different angles so I might be completely wrong…

Kewchoc · 26/11/2023 19:05

@Amberellaella Fingers crossed haha! With the medication you're taking, is it only prescribed if you're physically being sick or can it be prescribed for nausea too? I'm really struggling with it but haven't actually been sick once

OP posts:
Amberellaella · 26/11/2023 20:07

@Kewchoc either - this time I was at the all day nausea/dry retching stage when I started them. I hadn’t actually been sick and am hoping to keep it that way this time! I found the docs were very sympathetic actually and keen to prescribe. He even made a point of saying to go back if they don’t work/lose their efficacy, which feels like it might be starting to happen so I might try something else next week. I’m on Cyclizine, plus the 100 mg vit b6 I was taking while ttc and which is supposed to help with sickness.

Amberellaella · 26/11/2023 20:09

PS sorry to hear that you’re struggling. It’s so much worse with a toddler to wrangle! When I was pregnant with her I just took to my bed and stayed there until I started feeling better 😂

Kewchoc · 27/11/2023 16:24

@Amberellaella Thanks, think I might try and get a GP appointment this week! Oh you're so right, I'm very lucky as DH also works from home a lot and is usually pretty free from about 3.30 so he can help out a lot, god knows how I'd cope otherwise. Is your dd the type of two year old who is just walking chaos? 🤣 ds is, I don't know if it's a boy thing, but he is CONSTANTLY either climbing, falling over or throwing himself off something. I'm bloody exhausted 🤣

OP posts:
Amberellaella · 27/11/2023 16:37

She’s not actually that chaotic, but I am her favourite thing in the whole world so she’s constantly cuddling/jumping on/climbing on me, poking me in the face or demanding I play with her 😂 None of which is ideal in the current circumstances!

Kewchoc · 29/11/2023 10:38

How we all doing? I've had to call in sick today, I really didn't want to but have had about three hours sleep a night for three nights in a row and it's killing me off! I have a GP appointment later to see if there's anything they can give me for the insomnia cause I literally can't function at the minute!

OP posts:
Amberellaella · 29/11/2023 11:54

Not too bad here - sickness much better. I started splitting my 100 mg vitb6 into two 50s alongside my Cyclizine and it’s really helped. Still earth-shatteringly tired though so I’ve been taking time off work as I need it to rest/nap.It doesn’t help that DD is in a waking up at 5:30 phase at the minute!

There’s no way I’d be surviving on 3 hours sleep so hopefully the doctors will be able to help you @Kewchoc!

I honestly forgot how horrible early pregnancy is, we’ve probably evolved to block it out so that the species continues 😂

Got my second scan on Sunday so really hoping for good news and then maybe I can relax a bit!

Agathapoirot · 30/11/2023 09:52

Hey ladies, how are we all doing? I’ve got a scan on Saturday when I should be 11 weeks, was feeling really good about it until yesterday.

Spent the day with my MIL and SIL who’s now 28 weeks and starting to buy baby things and we talked about it a lot. (As we should it’s a super exciting time for her) but just made me sad that I should be 31 weeks now, not 11. Just made me want good news on Saturday so much more.

2 more sleeps 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Kewchoc · 30/11/2023 10:13

@Amberellaella Glad your nausea has improved again! I think you're right about blocking it out... I always say how lucky I was during my pregnancy with ds as I was so symptom free throughout, but my mum actually mentioned the other day how rubbish I was feeling at the start of that pregnancy too which I literally don't even remember! Yes 3 hours sleep was bad, but then last night I was laid awake until about 4.30 this morning then awake again at 6.30... and that's with a sleeping tablet! Feel absolutely shocking today, dh has cancelled his afternoon at work so he can take over with ds.

@Agathapoirot That does sound really hard, and must be very conflicting for you, sending a hug! I'm sure Saturday will go well though and it will be lovely to see an actual little baby wriggling around 🥰 how are you doing symptom wise?

I know it's still so early but I'm sure the bottom of my tummy is already starting to go hard... probably just trapped wind hahaha but I'm letting myself pretend it's the start of a bump! At less than 8 weeks 🙄🤣

tlw14 · 30/11/2023 10:15

Hello everyone! Glad to read everyone is getting on well. I had my private scan on sunday and everything was perfect, lovely strong heartbeat!
Had my appointment for 12 week scan come through for 28th December too! Seems so so far away but i know it will soon be here.

Still feeling nauseous and got a cold as well at the moment so a bit blegh. I had a couple of days where i didn't feel sick over the weekend and panicked, never been so pleased for the sickness to return!!!

Might book another private scan in for two weeks time to bridge the gap between now and my 12 week scan.

Agathapoirot · 30/11/2023 15:36

I’m still feeling positive, just think I’ll always be anxious before scans! Nausea seems to have largely passed, but still sore boobs and feeling quite tired all the time!

My 12 week scan is on the 12th so only just over a week to wait after this one on Saturday.

Sorry to hear your symptoms are kicking your butt at the moment, hopefully they’ll pass swiftly and settle soon for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼 have you got any more scans booked?

@tlw14 - That’s great news! Great that they’re still scanning between Christmas and any too so you don’t have to wait until after! I’ve ended up booking private scans every two weeks, and am going to have to trust my body a bit more after the 12 week one or I’m not going to be able to afford maternity leave 🤣

Amberellaella · 01/12/2023 08:06

@Agathapoirot I’m really pleased (and very jealous!) that your sickness has passed. When I had DD it didn’t start to ease for me until about 16 weeks, hopefully it won’t take so long this time… Totally get how you feel re: should be 31 weeks instead of 11. I’ve been trying to think of it as that she wasn’t quite ready to be born last time but she is now ☺️ plus being a few months behind your SIL you can get all her stuff once your niece/nephew has grown out of it!

Amberellaella · 01/12/2023 08:10

@tlw14 glad things are going well for you. I feel like a scan every two weeks is perfectly reasonable given what we’ve all been through… Nice that you’ve got your 12 week scan before the end of the year as well, you can start the year on a positive note!

Amberellaella · 01/12/2023 10:01

@Kewchoc thought I’d posted a message to you as well but DD must have jogged my elbow as I was clicking send…

It said that I hope you had a better night last night and that my anti-sickness meds make me sleepy so you could try those if the sleeping pills don’t work. I’m on Cyclizine x

Amberellaella · 02/12/2023 16:33

How did you get on today @Agathapoirot?

Agathapoirot · 02/12/2023 17:30

Just got home! Still measuring bang on dates, which is such a relief. Only 10 days now until the NHS one!

It was nice to have an abdominal scan rather than internal too!!

Is it tomorrow you have yours?
