Thanks @Kewchoc! Just got back now. There is a baby in there, she's in the right place, measuring bang on for dates and has a heartbeat :-)
She gave us a little scare by hiding at the back, but the sonographer found her eventually and we've even got a little video of her heart beating. Still a ways to go before I can relax, but it is obviously great to know that everything is as it should be so far!
Booked another one in for two weeks today...
@Agathapoirot I've already told a few people - SIL who is a GP so v handy to advise on medical issues, MIL so she's on call to help out with DD if I get really sick again and a few mum friends IRL who've been through something similar. Haven't told my family yet, if all is still well at Christmas I'll tell them then.
When I had DD I had my 12 week scan in early December, so made the announcement by getting Christmas cards printed with the scan picture and sending them to everyone (also with Happy Christmas Grandad/Auntie/Great-grandma etc printed on). A bit cheesy, but it was lots of fun to receive all the excited phone calls the day after the cards arrived.
@tlw14 me too re: sickness - except it's constant rather than waves. Having a little sleep and eating something really gross (like a vegan sausage roll) seems to help temporarily. I'm just going to try and rest as much as possible and take sick days from work if I need to. Science can science without me for a while...
