Hello ladies!! I feel like I've forgotten someone but not sure who?!

Amberellaella · 19/11/2023 16:00

Awwww, mate. That’s wonderful news ☺️ congratulations x

Agathapoirot · 19/11/2023 17:01

Looking forward to your scan updates next week!

Kewchoc · 19/11/2023 18:05

@Agathapoirot Awww that's a lovely update! And how nice that by 9 weeks baby is starting to look more like a baby on the scan, rather than a little tadpole haha. After our early scan with ds we called him 'prawny' for the remainder of the pregnancy because he looked just like a prawn on the scan! 🤣 (he is a very beautiful boy now and does not look like a prawn anymore!)

I think I was just panicking this morning, I've had a few waves of nausea since posting and just had a shower which has left me feeling awful. I'm finding that hunger and heat are the worst culprits for nausea.

How is everyone else feeling? Are you planning on finding out the gender during pregnancy or keeping it a surprise?

OP posts:
Agathapoirot · 19/11/2023 18:26

Was definitely nice to see something that did resemble a baby! Hoping the 12 week scan date comes through this week so I can plan around that one.

We haven’t told anyone yet this time round, and I’m itching too now!

Hunger is 100% my trigger for the nausea, hoping it eases in a few weeks or I’ll be the size of a house soon 🤣

We’re going to keep the gender a surprise 😊

Amberellaella · 19/11/2023 19:02

Feeling like utter cr*p but no vomiting yet thankfully. Luckily I’ve got a quiet few weeks at work so can hunker down and wfh then I’m taking three weeks off over Christmas since I didn’t end up taking leave over the summer because of the lengthy miscarriage process! I will be mostly spending it on the couch ☺️

Amberellaella · 19/11/2023 19:06

We will find out the gender but I’m convinced she’s a girl already ☺️

Amberellaella · 20/11/2023 14:03

How's everyone doing today? Any top tips of vaguely healthy foods to eat that help stop you feeling sick? I'm eating waaaaaaaaaay too much cheese and pastry...

Kewchoc · 20/11/2023 17:32

@Agathapoirot Haha it's so hard keeping it quiet isn't it! Are you going to tell people after 12 week scan?

@Amberellaella Funny you've said about feeling like it's a girl, I've been thinking the same thing! It will be very interesting to see if we're both right 😊 is there anything in particular making you think so, or just a feeling?

I'm afraid I can't help with healthy food choices... I have officially entered beige food only territory 😭 I really wanted to try and stick to eating healthily this pregnancy but it's so much easier said than done when the only foods that seem tolerable are crap. I've been eating a ridiculous amount of beef hula hoops which really helps keep the nausea at bay, I don't even eat them usually! I have felt really nauseous again today which is reassuring, but it certainly wasn't ideal whilst I was sat in my managers very fancy car panicking that I might vomit all over it, including her and her son!

OP posts:
Amberellaella · 20/11/2023 18:18

@Kewchoc you don’t want to know how much I’ve eaten today… Definitely eating for two. Two rugby players 😂

Agathapoirot · 20/11/2023 18:36

The plan is to tell family after the 12 week scan, we told them super super early last time and although it was great to have the support during the miscarriage, I now know my SIL was pregnant and it caused her a lot of anxiety, so didn’t want to put her through that again, so we thought we’d wait this time. Didn’t necessarily intended to wait until 12 weeks but now we’re so close we will.

I also really want to tell my parents face to face this time so it’ll be worth the wait ☺️

Scan appointment came through today, 12th December so not long to go! Think I might book another private scan one for 2nd December, just for that extra reassurance it’ll be okay!

Have you all told anyone yet? When are you planning to?

Kewchoc · 21/11/2023 10:12

@Agathapoirot That will be so exciting for you to tell everyone 🥰 also how exciting you've got your NHS scan date, not too long to wait! I've told a few close people already but I really struggle to keep anything to myself haha!

@Amberellaella What time is your scan today? I'm looking forward to an update from you 🥰

tlw14 · 21/11/2023 11:31

Exciting reading all your updates!!

I've been feeling so sick, haven't actually been sick but cant stop feeling it. Comes in Waves and really is horrendous.

Other than that no symptoms really. I did a pregnancy test today and the line was really really dark so looks like everything is going in the right direction.

Got my first midwife appointment on Friday and then a scan on Sunday so lots to look forward to.

Really pleased to read everyone is getting on well apart from the symptoms.

Amberellaella · 21/11/2023 12:16

Thanks @Kewchoc! Just got back now. There is a baby in there, she's in the right place, measuring bang on for dates and has a heartbeat :-)

She gave us a little scare by hiding at the back, but the sonographer found her eventually and we've even got a little video of her heart beating. Still a ways to go before I can relax, but it is obviously great to know that everything is as it should be so far!

Booked another one in for two weeks today...

@Agathapoirot I've already told a few people - SIL who is a GP so v handy to advise on medical issues, MIL so she's on call to help out with DD if I get really sick again and a few mum friends IRL who've been through something similar. Haven't told my family yet, if all is still well at Christmas I'll tell them then.

When I had DD I had my 12 week scan in early December, so made the announcement by getting Christmas cards printed with the scan picture and sending them to everyone (also with Happy Christmas Grandad/Auntie/Great-grandma etc printed on). A bit cheesy, but it was lots of fun to receive all the excited phone calls the day after the cards arrived.

@tlw14 me too re: sickness - except it's constant rather than waves. Having a little sleep and eating something really gross (like a vegan sausage roll) seems to help temporarily. I'm just going to try and rest as much as possible and take sick days from work if I need to. Science can science without me for a while...

Kewchoc · 21/11/2023 16:29

@tlw14 Sorry to hear you've been struggling with the sickness, it's awful isn't it? I have been struggling with it too, although on Sunday I didn't have any nausea in the morning and was desperate for it to come back ha! How many weeks are you now? Exciting that you have your midwife appointment soon 😊

@Amberellaella Aww yay what a nice update 😊 and great news that baby is measuring bang on, you must have found that really reassuring?

Speaking of nausea, has anyone ever had it brought on or made worse by something completely random? My triggers have been heat and hunger, until yesterday when I put a yellow wooly jumper on and instantly had to rip it back off cause I felt like if I kept it on I would be sick! Definitely a new experience for me ha

OP posts:
Amberellaella · 22/11/2023 13:26

Sadly EVERYTHING makes me feel sick, except sleeping, and for about ten minutes after I've eaten, but only if it's something really unhealthy 😂

I've put in an online request to the docs for sickness meds, they seemed to be helping last time before the mc so hopefully they will again😊

Amberellaella · 22/11/2023 13:36

@Kewchoc yes reassuring that she's in there and is OK so far. But...

Last time I had my scan about 8 weeks, but baby was measuring 6. It threw up a red flag because I was VERY sure of my dates but the sonographer did find a heartbeat, so there was still a chance it was OK and baby was just a slow grower or implanted late or something. When I went back a week later and baby hadn't grown (but still had a slow heartbeat) that was when we found out it wasn't viable. Had to wait a week for the NHS scan and then there was no heartbeat as well as no growth so we progressed to the medical management. As a result of all this, I don't think I'll be able to relax until I see progress! Fingers crossed for the next one.

How's everyone feeling today? @Agathapoirot having fun in Italy?

Agathapoirot · 22/11/2023 14:33

It’s been a lovely distraction from counting down the days to the next scan!

I’m not sure if I have the start of a little bump or if it’s just pasta. (I know it’s pasta 🤣)

tlw14 · 23/11/2023 10:50

So the Nausea is really kicking my bum at the moment. It is all day and comes in waves. Like others, i feel ok after i have ate something for a very very short while but after that feel sick again.

I have a work conference sunday-tuesday and have a black tie gala dinner on the monday night. I am so so so bloated i look 6 months pregnant in my dress too so feel a bit blegh at the moment.

On a positive note, i have my first midwife booking appointment tomorrow and then my scan again on sunday :)

Amberellaella · 23/11/2023 11:15

@tlw14 I actually feel a little better today. I remembered that I had some leftover Cyclizine from last time so took one last night and one this morning. I feel less sick, but still generally awful. I've put in a formal request to wfh for the rest of term, hopefully starting the meds early and getting plenty of rest will stop me from being hospitalised again! The things we go through for these babies eh?

Kewchoc · 23/11/2023 12:00

Glad to hear everyone's doing well apart from the nausea! I was feeling absolutely horrendous yesterday, not feeling great today but certainly not as bad as yesterday. I think I'd feel a lot better if I was sleeping but the insomnia is really wiping me out still

@Amberellaella I know what you mean, I have my early scan on Saturday but even if everything is okay I'm not sure I will find it particularly reassuring until I've seen some positive development. Good idea about working from home, that's been a huge help for me recently!

@tlw14 So exciting about your midwife appointment. I still don't have a date for Mike but hoping I hear something this week! Your black tie gala sounds fun! Although yes I imagine it's not something you're feeling up to at the moment!

Kewchoc · 24/11/2023 20:27

Anyone up to anything exciting this weekend? How's everyone's nausea? I've got my scan tomorrow which I'm getting excited about but obviously a bit nervous too! Mostly because I keep dreaming it's twins after a conversation my sister and I had 🤣

OP posts:
Amberellaella · 25/11/2023 07:22

Ooh, @Kewchoc for some reason I thought your scan was tomorrow. Very best of luck, what time is it?

Nausea much better here after a few days of meds. Docs have prescribed me more so hopefully they’ll get me through the worst of it!

Agathapoirot · 25/11/2023 08:19

How exciting! How many weeks will you be today?

No exciting plans this weekend other than to force myself to go out for a longer run and do some workouts. I’m hoping by Christmas I’ll have a bit more energy! They say the second trimester is better for that, right?

@Amberellaella - Glad you’ve been prescribed something that’s helping!

Kewchoc · 25/11/2023 09:54

@Amberellaella It's at 3pm. God knows why I booked it that late, this morning already feels like time is dragging! Wish I'd have booked a morning appointment! Good news re your nausea, I may have to look in to that myself if it gets any worse!

@Agathapoirot I should be 6+6 today, so really hoping that baby is measuring close to that! A run sounds good, I'm still wanting to try going to the gym while I'm pregnant but it just feels impossible at the moment!

OP posts:
Agathapoirot · 25/11/2023 11:11

@Kewchoc - will be thinking of you at 3pm! The place I go to only do afternoon appointments too, so I can empathise with the waiting around!!!

Can’t wait to here how it goes!

I just have zero energy and have no motivation to get out. Really having to force myself to do anything!!
