Hello ladies!! I feel like I've forgotten someone but not sure who?!

Lovely to read all of your updates!!

@Amberellaella thank you for checking in. Nausea has eased slightly, I still gag randomly but generally I am feeling better. Which ends up only making me worry!!!! I keep telling myself I saw a lovely healthy baby at 10 weeks and my 12 week scan in Thursday so not long to go! Experienced different symptoms this pregnancy xx

Amberellaella · 23/12/2023 07:09

Ooh, maybe you’re having a girl then @tlw14 (I think you have a DS already?). I can also recommend being a girl mom, it’s like having a tiny sidekick 😂

Amberellaella · 25/12/2023 06:33

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you, your littles and your teeny-tinies have the best day x

Kewchoc · 26/12/2023 12:23

Thank you @Amberellaella and merry Christmas to you too! Did you have a nice day? We did, although Christmas dinner was rather chaotic between ds being wild and my 95yo grandmother who has dementia. It did seem to resemble something that could have been in Gavin and Stacey!

Morning-
just had my 12 week scan, can’t believe I’ve made it!!
baby was perfect, moving around and with a lovely strong heartbeat. I’ve had the screening tests so will wait to hear back from
that.
my urine tested for glucose so I have to have the diabetic test next week but I had just drank a bottle of lucozade so I’m not too worried about this.
hope everyone else is getting on well and good luck to all those with upcoming scans!

Amberellaella · 28/12/2023 10:46

Awwww, excellent news @tlw14. Well, not about the diabetic test but that’s probably just the lucozade like you say! I’ve got my scan on Tuesday, am excited for it! Also, my symptoms seem to be easing slightly… They say you get less ill with boys so hopefully I’m over the hump of it now ☺️

@Kewchoc Christmas Day was lovely thanks - just the three of us on the actual day, which was really nice. We’ve spent the last couple of days visiting relatives and are pleased to be home now for hopefully a chilled out weekend. When’s your 12 week scan?

SnookyPook · 28/12/2023 10:55

@tlw14 ah what wonderful news 🥰 so lovely. You'll be able to start 2024 on a real high now 💕

I'm now 8+2... This first trimester is dragging! Have any of you had dreams about miscarriage at all? I've had two dreams recently, one last night, where I've started bleeding and woke up feeling very sad. I guess it's just working through trauma/grief from my other losses but it's a bit unnerving. 😔

Amberellaella · 28/12/2023 11:00

Yeah, @SnookyPook I’ve had a few of those anxiety-type dreams though they are getting less frequent. Though last night I dreamt I fell over and landed heavily on my stomach, and then someone tripped on me and landed on my back… Stupid brain 😂

SnookyPook · 28/12/2023 11:18

@Amberellaella ah thanks for replying. Sorry you're having them too! But slightly relieved it's not just me and that it doesn't mean my body is preparing me in about to lose another one!

How is everyone doing? Has anyone else announced to family/friends yet since hitting 12wks etc? I was really tempted to tell my lot on Christmas Day but just couldn't quite bring myself to. I think it will feel nicer to be able to say "and we're through the first trimester!" when we tell them. 💕

Agathapoirot · 28/12/2023 22:06

Congrats @tlw14!! glad it all went swimmingly for you!

Amberellaella · 29/12/2023 15:36

@Agathapoirot slightly off topic but are you managing to stick to your vegan diet? I’ve been craving meat like an absolute b*tard so I’ve had to give in and have the odd steak… (I’m usually vegetarian)

Agathapoirot · 29/12/2023 16:43

@Amberellaella I’ve had the exact same! I’ve relented to being veggie and been flexible over Christmas and had some meat too. I’m still largely using oat milk etc as I prefer it, but going to give my body what it wants!

I don’t have any science to back it up what so ever, but I also didn’t want to avoid dairy and then potentially cause any allergies etc for baby.

Once the pregnancy is over I’ll go back to being vegan, but now I’m working on the premise that it’s the baby wanting it 🤣

Kewchoc · 29/12/2023 19:46

Oh I've only just caught up but fantastic news @tlw14 I really am so happy for you, you must be over the moon 🥰

@Amberellaella your Christmas Day sounds nice and chilled! My 12 week scan is on Thursday, I'm officially 12 weeks tomorrow! Is yours Monday? I have dug out the Doppler that I got when I was pregnant with ds and managed to find baby's heartbeat today which I'm finding very reassuring!

Regarding dreams, I've surprisingly not had any about miscarriage but have been having REALLY weird and intense dreams! And I am also craving meat, though not so much as an issue for me as I usually eat it anyway. I just want to eat cheeseburgers for every meal though which certainly is not ideal!

How's everyone's bumps coming along? I genuinely look about five months pregnant, which is obviously bloat and not baby but I don't think I'll be able to keep it quiet much longer. Someone at work has already commented on it last week. I'm getting a bit worried that it's just going to keep on growing and I'll end up massive

Agathapoirot · 29/12/2023 19:52

I can’t believe your 12 week scans are coming up already! I’m sure it hasn’t for you, but it seems to have flown by since you all got your bfps!

I’m 15 weeks today and I’m definitely bigger but not sure it’s a bump. Some days it’s there and then it’s not! My 16 week appointment is a week on Monday and I’m just hoping they do try and find the heartbeat as I’ve heard sometimes they don’t do it now. I’ll probably be booking another private scan if not, the anxiety is setting in again!

Amberellaella · 29/12/2023 20:19

@Agathapoirot I’m glad it’s not just me 😂 it’s weird though because I don’t actually like the taste of meat normally - jr is obviously a proper carnivore like his dad!

@Kewchoc I’m with you - I look about 20 weeks already - partly bloat, partly bump and partly chub from eating aaaaaaallll the things! Also don’t forget that our stomach muscles are already effed from having #1 😂

@SnookyPook this does mean that I’ve had to tell people I’ve physically seen… still keeping it officially quiet until the 12 week scan though.

My scan is on Tuesday, looking forward to it. MIL is here this weekend to help with DD so she’s going to stay for the scan as well.

Agathapoirot · 31/12/2023 18:09

Hey ladies, hope you’re all doing well. My anxiety won today and ended up driving a rather long way to get a scan, but all is well! Measuring on track, organs where they should be etc. Feels like such a nice way to end the year 🥰

Hope you all have lovely plans to see in the new year!

Amberellaella · 02/01/2024 12:38

@Agathapoirot sorry you had to go through that but excellent news that you managed to find a scanning place to fit you in ☺️ (and of course that all is well with baby).

I had my 12 week scan today - everything looks fine and I was dated a little ahead at 12+6 so my due date is now July 11th!

Feels like I’m officially pregnant now ☺️

Agathapoirot · 02/01/2024 13:08

@Amberellaella Amazing news! Always nice to be dated ahead too!

HashB · 04/01/2024 13:41

Hi Ladies.
You probably won’t remember me at this point but I was in the original 1DPO thread, got pregnant quick, then miscarried again just before this thread was set up.
I’ve been getting the notifications still and it’s been really nice to see you all have positive experiences this time.

I have found out that I am pregnant again and am using Cyclogest, I just wondered if anyone here had used it too?

SnookyPook · 04/01/2024 14:15

@Amberellaella ah great news! How wonderful! 🥰

@HashB I wasn't on the original thread myself but congratulations on your new pregnancy. Wish you all the best!

I had a scare this week. I had some spotting on Tuesday night and immediately went into doom scenario. My Women's Health Unit booked me in for a scan the next afternoon and I was so nervous I could barely keep it together. When the sonographer told me there was a heartbeat I didn't immediately register what she was saying as I was so convinced it would be bad news 😌 But, happily it's still looking fine! Dated at 8 weeks which is in line with my earlier scan. It also means I've now officially gone further than I did with all 3 of my previous losses. They couldn't find an obvious reason for the spotting but they've prescribed progesterone - two pessaries a day, which I started yesterday evening.

Still feeling very much in the first trimester but allowing a few more glimmers of hope 🙏🏼🌈💕

HashB I'm not actually sure if it's cyclogest they've put me on but I've only just started it at 8 weeks. I know lots of people who think it has helped them though so fingers crossed it will do the job for you!

Amberellaella · 04/01/2024 15:57

Yaaaaayyyy @HashB of course I remember you! What amazing news, congratulations. I'm not on Cyclogest but I am very pleased for you 🙂

@SnookyPook thanks. Sorry you had to go through that but great news that baby is doing fine at 8 weeks.

My SIL who is a GP went to a seminar by a prominent fertility doctor recently and she apparently thinks progesterone should be prescribed routinely after only one miscarriage. Annoying that it will probably take the NHS aeons to catch on.

All good here, symptoms definitely easing. Just trying to tell myself it's because I'm out of the first trimester, and that you get less sick with boy babies, rather than because anything is wrong. Let's face it though, I'll probs give in and go for a scan next week or the one after to make sure 😂.

Amberellaella · 04/01/2024 16:01

@Agathapoirot have you felt any movement yet?

Kewchoc · 04/01/2024 16:41

Hi everyone! I'd written out a big long reply a few days ago following your scans... but I've now noticed that apparently I didn't actually post it! 🙄

@Amberellaella glad your scan went so well and that symptoms are easing. Mine had eased off but seem to be back again now!

@HashB yes of course I remember you too! This is such fantastic news and I'm so happy for you ❤️ welcome back!

Also... I had my 12 week scan today (measuring 13 weeks) and everything is perfect 😊 what's everyone's opinion on nub theory?

OP posts:
SnookyPook · 04/01/2024 18:42

@Kewchoc wonderful news! Haha nub theory has always completely baffled me tbh! Happy to have a random guess but that's all it will be 😂
