Anyone want to join me? I'm likely jumping the gun as I have a history of reoccurring loss but it always helps me to chat as if it really will work out this time 🤞🏼❤️

Just had my first appointment at the hospital today, measuring 5 weeks 3 days and due July 30th 😁.
Had a vaginal scan and everything is looking fine so far, back again for an ultrasound in 4 weeks

MrsHousePlant · 01/12/2023 11:31

I’m so excited for all of you having scans at the moment!! My booking appointment is soon so I’m really hoping that I’ll get my 12 week scan date then so then we can choose whether to go for a private one earlier. I’d love to tell people over Christmas but I’m not 12 weeks until the end of Dec.

MixedCouple · 01/12/2023 13:18

I am so annoyed the Midwife never called again! I was told Thurs/Fri. Should I call them or leave until Monday. My assigned midwife worked Fri & Thurs.
I will be traveling on Friday next week and won't be back until 29th Dec. I will be nearly 11 weeks!!!!
I never had this iswue last time I cqlled at 5 weeks..my qssigned midwife called me at 6 weeks to arrange Booking apt it 7weeks and physical apt at 8weeks and then my scan was at 12 weeks and 3days.

Maybe they weren't as busy then as they are now - it's not great they told you when they'd get in contact and haven't committed to that though.

I am 7w 5d and signed up when I was 4 weeks, they haven't got in touch with me until yesterday, that was just to create an account for badger notes (the app they must use) and to fill in a pre-booking form. I've not been contacted by anyone else yet...I'm hoping it will fall in to place soon but I can only imagine with Christmas and New Years round the corner there's going to be lots of staff on leave. I'll be 12 weeks on 1st Jan.I don't reckon i'll get any scans from the NHS until next year now.

PopQuizz · 01/12/2023 16:26

Hi ladies! Can I join?

I'm waiting for a confirmed due date but I think around the 20th July 2024. Had my first ever BFP a few weeks ago, very faint but tests done since are much stronger, had a scan on Tuesday from my consultant (we've been under infertility treatment but this happened all on its own!!) and there was a tiny little thing with a heartbeat! So excited...

Interesting just reading about your booking appointments. I was called by my midwife to arrange the appointment and she said someone would be in touch to confirm it but that was over 2 weeks ago! Not sure how long I should leave it before getting back in touch?

Anyway hope you are all doing well and our sore boobs aren't getting us down too much! 😂

MoonIightDreamer · 01/12/2023 17:02

@ExpectantEs 7cm definitely is the womb size.
I'm also 7 weeks and have zero symptoms aswell .
Baby measured 1cm which they said was normal for 7 weeks

Laylamoxx · 01/12/2023 17:04

9 weeks today and had my booking appointment. Was not prepared for the amount of blood they took haha. Felt quite queasy!

Unfortunately my 12 week scan is not untill the 3rd of jan where I will actually be nearly 14 weeks :( I was really hoping to squeeze one in before Xmas but looks like a lot of the sonographers are on leaves.

NphysT · 01/12/2023 18:20

Savvy21 · 01/12/2023 07:05

@MummyBear2519 congratulations! How exciting for you.
@bringmearainbow hope all goes well today.
@NphysT also experiencing backache and its making me a bit worried. But then I guess it might be things stretching out and loosening up. When it gets too bad then the hot water bottle is my friend!

Edited

I've read it can be because of stretching and had a scan last week so know baby is in the right place. It seems to be worse at night for me and can't for the life of me figure out how to keep a hot water bottle on my back when lying on my side!

MummyBear2519 · 01/12/2023 18:55

@User491 hello to another twin mum to be! I saw my midwife today and been referred to the high risk midwife team already and met the midwife I will now be under.
Still not fully sunk in, me and my OH just keep joking we have got 2 for 1
I will most likely tell work sooner than I had hoped.
I have already had a premature baby and done the scbu scene so in that way I’m relaxed about it all. Just hope to keep them cooking as long as possible

Savvy21 · 01/12/2023 19:00

@bringmearainbow glad everything went well today :-).
@NphysT ha that is a bit tricky. Would a pregnancy pillow help?
I am so hungry all of the time. I've come in and eaten 4 slices of bread and butter before I even think about dinner. Hoping this might let up a bit as otherwise I'm going to have a bit of weight to lose!

soon2be6 · 01/12/2023 19:27

Hi again! Does anyone have constant back pain? Im so early on but wondering what tips you have to ease it a bit. Hot water bottle isn’t doing the trick x

FigandHoney · 01/12/2023 19:50

Hello everyone. Been a little while since I last popped in. Hooe everyone is well. Feeling a bit miserable tonight. Morning sickness is settling in. It's not an extreme I need to puke just a constant underground nausea making me feel blah. I hate this part.

sloggingonagain · 01/12/2023 20:10

Is there a WhatsApp group for July mummas to be?

bcl23 · 01/12/2023 20:26

Hi everyone. Went for an early scan today and baby has a healthy heartbeat! I’m measuring at 8w6d - according to flo and other things I’m 9w 5d but that’s dating from my last bleed which was chemical pregnancy so no idea when I ovulated. So relieved! Just fingers crossed for when I go for my 12 week scan in 2 and a bit weeks!

bringmearainbow · 01/12/2023 22:01

@Savvy21 thanks lovely I'm literally forcing myself to eat in the hopes it makes me feel better so arm I feel like I'm constantly eating 🙈

@soon2be6 I haven't in this pregnancy but have in others and the only thing that helped was hot water bottle or warm bath. How far along are you I did find it disappeared around 5.5 weeks

@FigandHoney oh the constant nausea is draining 😫

@sloggingonagain there isn't a WhatsApp group as far as I know. Feel free to make one if you want though I loved a WhatsApp group in previous pregnancies I just wouldn't know where to start in making one

@bcl23 ahhh that's awesome news 🥳

ExpectantEs · 01/12/2023 22:40

Hey guys!
Question - I've been given my 12 week scan ultrasound appointment via a letter in the post. (December 28) so I'll be 12w3d.

However I've been reading some other comments that there's meant to be a booking appointment? I also saw someone say the midwives took blood?

Is it possible to have the 12 week ultrasound without a booking appointment? Is the booking appointment essential and should I chase?

Thanks!

ExpectantEs · 01/12/2023 22:42

MoonIightDreamer · 01/12/2023 17:02

That makes sense, glad your appointment went well!

I'm a week ahead of you and still don't have any symptoms! Hope you're not worried, I'm still just counting myself as lucky, instead of being anxious x

Wise0wl · 01/12/2023 23:54

Hi @PopQuizz and congratulations! In my experience I wouldn’t assume that they’re on the case, I’d follow up. It might be in hand but the NHS is really stretched so better to give them a call to check?

And likewise @ExpectantEs (I am also symptomless!) I’d chase your booking appt too. My first was in Covid so was a bit weird but I understand they take bloods, height, weight, medical history etc and that isn’t done by a sonographer during the scan (though during Covid those tests for me happened the same day of the scan, but it was clear that was happening). Hope they can shed some light on it for you.

bringmearainbow · 02/12/2023 05:13

@ExpectantEs I also have my 12 weeks scan on 28th and I had my booking appointment last week. They should do your booking between 8-10 weeks ish so id def give them a chase on that.

OP posts:
EmmzRB · 02/12/2023 07:06

@ExpectantEs exciting news your scan had been booked in. Like the others say chase your booking appt because your bloods have to be done by a certain time for them to be able to do the tests.

I'm 6 weeks and 6 days today and have had my booking appt. 12 week scan is booked in for 12 weeks + 5.

Does anyone else feel that someone official should be confirming pregnancy to make it real?? 😅🤣 I know I took tests and they were positive but still.

Just coming up to my first milestone as I miscarried earlier this year at 7 weeks + 1. This time feels so different.

Stay well and warm this weekend ladies!

trebuvie · 02/12/2023 08:33

@EmmzRB Does anyone else feel that someone official should be confirming pregnancy to make it real?? 😅🤣 I know I took tests and they were positive but still.

Haha yes - especially as I don't really have many symptoms yet so it all feels a bit academic!

Hope you sail through your milestone x

KM8 · 02/12/2023 09:25

Hi all!
I had my booking appt yesterday and just waiting for a scan date now, did the scan appt come through the post or were you contacted? It's all different this time around to me (my last pregnancy was in the thick of covid restrictions)

trebuvie · 02/12/2023 09:42

I got sent my booking appt as a letter and then a few days later got a second letter for the 12wk scan. Although they were "electronic letters" sent to me via SMS/email that I had to log onto - all happened automatically without me saying I wanted electronic letters, although I do prefer it so I'm fine with it.
