Anyone want to join me? I'm likely jumping the gun as I have a history of reoccurring loss but it always helps me to chat as if it really will work out this time 🤞🏼❤️

@Vittoriosa we haven't really told anyone either, I don't feel I'm ready to yet. Don't think it will really sink in for me till the 12 week scan. For what it's worth when I had my 16 month old, my older two were so good with her and so helpful so it's nice having that larger age gap.

Thanks - that does make me feel a bit better too! I think you are right it will be a different experience having the kids excited/involved this time

Laylamoxx · 24/11/2023 10:23

Also a first time mother here!

I am 8 weeks today and the nausea has really ramped up. Anyone else getting really bad motion sickness? I can’t get into a car at all now.

I have my booking appointment next Friday where I will be 9 weeks. I am really hoping they will be able to squeeze in my 12 week scan before Xmas!

bringmearainbow · 24/11/2023 10:37

@User491 def stop the BBT. temp fluctuates a lot in pregnancy. It will only cause you anxiety to keep watching it. Also sleep gets interrupted a lot I know I'm waking up a lot more than normal so it probably won't be that accurate anyway. The CB digitals are notorious for not moving up to 3+ when they should. I don't bother doing them at all anymore. There's a whole article about how inaccurate they are floating around the internet somewhere I was also reading once a lady dipped 2 in the same sample one read 3+ and one read 2-3 weeks!

I am finding that I am feeling a tad more hungry but not actually wanting to eat. But I am having a mix of the feeling of hunger causing nausea. Or having no nausea then I try to eat and it makes me nauseous! It's not overly strong nausea so I am fine dealing with it. Is anyone else getting this?
Also kinda feels like heartburn but in my tummy, it's very strange lol

trebuvie · 24/11/2023 11:00

@bringmearainbow oh I'm also constantly waking up in the night now... Didn't realise that was a symptom!

bringmearainbow · 24/11/2023 11:02

@trebuvie yes! It's a very annoying symptom esp if you can't get back to sleep quickly too 🤦🏼‍♀️ drives me insane 🫠

@brbringmearainbow @mimissmoosh

Thanks so much ❤️

@trtrebuvie
It's my very first time, so new and exciting!

Had the booking appointment today and going to tell our parents this weekend but ask them to keep it to themselves for a little bit yet. It's my families first grandchild so they will be incredibly excited 🌞

KM8 · 24/11/2023 13:35

Does anyone have any remedies for nausea? It seems to be becoming more frequent each day, I'm waking up around 2am feeling sick and it doesn't ease until late afternoon.
I thought it was possibly when I took my Pregnacare vitamins making it worse....but I haven't taken them today yet and I've still felt awful. 😣

Blueberry1990 · 24/11/2023 13:59

I'm 4w4d estimated due date is July 30th. Current symptoms I have is slight cramping and tender boobs

bringmearainbow · 24/11/2023 14:34

@KM8 with my first pregnancy I found snacking a lot really helped it would go away for about 30 minutes after I had snacked. This time nothing seems to help it at all but I have to make sure I eat frequently even though I don't want to because otherwise it's 100 times worse. I'm going to get out my travel sickness bands that you put on your wrists to see if that helps at all

OP posts:
missmoosh · 24/11/2023 14:53

@Blueberry1990 ooo we have the same due date!

trebuvie · 24/11/2023 15:19

Have you told anyone yet? I've told no-one, but he's incapable of keeping secrets and has now told 3 of his friends (5w3 today). We're going to stay with his family over Christmas and I'm guessing even if he manages not to not spill the beans within 5min of arriving, his mother will guess pretty soon.

Wondering about maybe doing a private 8wk scan just before we go, just to feel a little more "confirmed" before making big announcements?!?!

missmoosh · 24/11/2023 15:26

@trebuvie only my mum knows, and she only knows because we were due to start Ivf and she knew that 😂
We are going to do an early scan and tell immediate family on Xmas assuming all is well. Then friends and other family after 12 weeks

Hey guys!
Just wanted to provide an update on my viability scan I had today. Saw the heartbeat & all is in the right place, despite my lack of symptoms. I'm 7w3days just as I predicted.

Measured 7cm? Don't know if that's the size of the baby or of the womb? Due date. July 11th xx Anyways posting here because I'm so happyyyyy

missmoosh · 24/11/2023 17:02

@Nocoffeenotalkie congratulations and welcome! Lovely strong line you have!!

@ExpectantEs eeeek how exciting you must be over the moon!!!

FigandHoney · 24/11/2023 17:21

@User491 I was just saying this on another thread, so thought it would be useful to post it here. I never got a 3+ with my son but all was good. Just got a 3+ yesterday at 5w4days. However the sensitivity of the CN digital tests varies widely. So I really wouldn't worry. Here us smthg I read that really reassured me and hopefully will reassure you:
"It's a review from Amazon:
Good pregnancy test, but users must be aware of the accuracy limits of the weeks estimator
By amo42 - December 9, 2014
There seems to be some confusion about what the results of this test mean. I'll try to clear things up. The 3 levels do in fact measure 3 different levels of HCG, but there's a huge range of sensitivity for each level. If your blood level is 250 and the test only shows 1-2 weeks, it doesn't mean the test is defective. What it does mean its that Clearblue's instructions are not really as clear as they should be.

The manufacturer has to file its test results with the FDA and that's public information. Check out the chart on page 6: http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/cdrh_docs/reviews/K112870.pdf

The Pregnant 3+ weeks threshold is 2600 mIU/ml. However if you look at their data, only 21 of 90 tests they did with exactly 2513 mIU/ml of HCG tested positive. The other 69 were false negatives. You aren't guaranteed to get a "3+ weeks" result until after your level is at least 4000. Clinical guidelines at that gestation are 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml, however, so basically this test can't tell you anything other than "you're pregnant" at 3 weeks past conception.

Please realize that this means that many many 4-week conceptuses (when your doctor would say you are 6 weeks along) are going to test as "2-3 weeks", and that is absolutely not a reason to panic. If you get one negative test, that does not mean a negative result. You have to do several tests, possibly even from different boxes, to be sure.

In summary:

If you get "Not pregnant", you may still have an HCG level below 17. Try another test today, and then again in 2 days.

If you get 1-2 weeks, that means that your HCG level is almost definitely between 10 and 500. It is most likely to be between 10 and 180.
1-2 weeks can turn positive anywhere above 10 ml/IU, but it doesn't reach 99% accuracy until 17. Clinical guidelines are 5 - 50 mIU/ml

If you get 2-3 weeks, that means that your HCG level is almost definitely between 120 and 4000. It is most likely to be between 180 and 2900.
2-3 weeks can turn positive anywhere above 120, but it doesn't reach 99% accuracy until 500. Clinical guidelines are 5 - 426 mIU/ml

If you get 3+ weeks, that means that your HCG level is almost definitely above 2100. It is most likely to be above 2900.
3+ weeks can turn positive anywhere above 2100, but it doesn't reach 99% accuracy until 4000. Clinical guidelines are 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml

The error bars on this test are wide enough that I would consider the weeks results to be entertainment only. You should absolutely not use this test to try to determine what your HCG level is. If your specific HCG level is important, go get a blood test done.

All that said, this is the only test on the market right now that can give you any clue at all about how much HCG is in your sample, and it can provide you some useful information. To know whether a particular level is accurate for a single sample, you'd need to take something like 10 tests at once. But if you just want reassurance that your pregnancy is progressing, you can use one test each time, and even with the large error bars on this test, it will eventually show progress, because your HCG level is steadily increasing. You may not hit "3+" until your 6th week however and that would still be within clinical guidelines. I wouldn't make any decisions based on this test unless the decision is to see a doctor and get a blood test done."

FigandHoney · 24/11/2023 17:22

That's a beautiful scan @Jadeandblue . Congratulations! Must be a huge relief.
I am counting down to my reassurance scan and time is going so slowly. Two more weeks to go

FigandHoney · 24/11/2023 17:27

@Oatmilktea When I was on mumsnet during ttc there was a whole thread about avoiding ttc for July babies. Because of school. I actually brought it up with my husband today and he said it's nonsense. All comes down to the curiosity and willingness to learn of your kud. And that's something you can massively influence as the parent.
Our son is a May baby. And I loved him being little over summer. It was especially a hod send during covid. It's wonderful to be able to take them for walks in the pram in the good weather or even just sit in the garden. It also makes breastfeeding outside more comfortable. It's easier to conceal pregnancy in the first trimester from work under big jumpers. It's awesome to announce at Christmas or new year. And organising birthday parties in the future will be so much easier for spring or summer babies as there is so much more to do.

FigandHoney · 24/11/2023 17:29

@User491 I forgot to add that you really shouldn't be temping after you get your bfp. Measuring your bbt only serves to determine ovulation. There is no clear indicators of pregnancy. And your bbt will definitely fluctuate during pregnancy.
I have an ava bracelet and everyone in the ava forum tells you to stop looking at your bbt after a BFP. In fact as soon as you switch the app to pregnancy mode it hides that stat.
So I would suggest you stop temping as it will knly increase your anxiety

Outliers · 24/11/2023 18:18

5weeks today. Very very hormonal.

Not planning on telling anyone until after 12 week scan. I have, unfortunately, plenty of friends with horror stories.

Incidentally, due to an administrative error flagging concerns of my DC, no one really knew I was pregnant until about 20weeks, which robbed us of a lot of celebratory time. Long story

trebuvie · 24/11/2023 18:46

@Outliers hopefully this pregnancy you're able to celebrate it more!

I just feel sooo tired. Glad it's the weekend.

Hi, joining the July party. DD is 25th July according to my last period.
I had a miscarriage in Sept which had to be surgically removed. I got period 3rd week in October and here I am. Really surprised to have got pregnant this quick considering we usually struggle and we have an IVF baby who's also born in July.

Really hope this one sticks and I'm contemplating whether to tell my DH at Xmas or hold out until valentines day. I'm actually enjoying it being my little secret at the moment.
