Anyone want to join me? I'm likely jumping the gun as I have a history of reoccurring loss but it always helps me to chat as if it really will work out this time 🤞🏼❤️

Hello to you all!

I am 37, have 2 sons 9 and 10. Just found out I’m expecting a 3rd last week! According to the Flo app my due date is 14th July. Thankfully didn’t have many symptoms in first 2 pregnancies, but this one I am exhausted/sore boobs so far! Also thinking of an early scan all going well before Xmas so that I can hopefully tell my kids. Keep feeling like I have made it up and just want to get past the 12 weeks/see a baby on a scan!!

bringmearainbow · 13/11/2023 13:34

@Ewbo2024 ahhh that's brilliant news great numbers 🥳 I'm ok got scan on weds though trying not to think of it much helps that work is busy. started feeling a lot more blurgh the last few days too. I keep nervous chewing the inside of my mouth it's driving me insane 🙄 I won't have any skin left on my cheeks by the time weds rolls around 😂

Someone else was waiting for blood results I think 🤔 I can't remember who now

@bringmearainbow hope all goes well!
I know the feeling, I'm a nervous fidgeter and even the dog is getting annoyed with me 🤦‍♀️
Sorry to hear your feeling blurgh! Re dry mouth - my SIL few years back had this and I remember her sucking ice cubes a lot. Only useful if you haven't got sensitive teeth I guess?
I've gone off decaff coffee and squash so I've been chugging loads of water. Other than sore boobs and heartburn I'm feeling okay, just more tired than usual.
Still feels very surreal.

Bluebonnet3 · 13/11/2023 13:47

IVF pregnancy here, so early scans are part of the process. Just had my scan at 6+4 and it was inconclusive. Dr said uterus was in a position so the fetus was far away so hard to visualise. Eventually found it and seemed to measure ok for dates, but no visible yolk sac. I'm booked in for a repeat scan in 2 weeks, at 8+4. I'm not sure how worried to be. Googling is not reassuring. I don't suppose any of you have positive stories of a missing yolk sac that later appeared and went on to a full pregnancy?

bringmearainbow · 13/11/2023 14:48

@Ewbo2024 ooh ice cubes I'll try that tonight though I do have sensitive teeth I reckon I can get away with not touching my teeth it can be a Monday night challenge 😂 I haven't gone off anything yet hopefully it stays that way 🤞🏼

@Bluebonnet3 I'm sorry you're in limbo I've been there many a time. I've had one MC that was an empty sac and it obv was not good news for me but during that time I did a lot of story searching and honestly at that stage it really can go either way. I know the hardest thing to do is wait but it really is the best thing to do. I read stories of baby magically popping up a couple of weeks later. so many things can still impact a scan even a transvaginal one and they are so super tiny at this stage. Try and tell yourself you're not bleeding so that's a positive in the right direction we're here to chat to in the wait ❤️

Hellooo, I've found out I'm pregnant due around 10th July! This is my second and for my first I bled fairly heavily for the first trimester so everything being "normal" seems to be causing me even more anxiety!
I don't have many symptoms at all, just occasional waves of nausea and occasionally my boobs feel a bit sore but nothing is constant. I think this time round I'm just struggling with not feeling anything at all, even though that should be a good thing!!

Honestly the anxiety is wild hahaha

Griffles · 13/11/2023 15:08

@bringmearainbow sorry to hear about your losses, it's so tough isn't it!

We actually had the Karotyping done on the NHS as part of the recurrent miscarriage clinic that we're under. I don't think they offer it to everyone so not sure why we managed to get it, maybe because my other tests came back not flagging anything?! Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done in our case (except private IVF) so it's just a case of hoping for the best. But know the condition has made a huge different to my mindset and how I process pregnancy and loss.

Keeping everything crossed these ones are successful for us! My LB is a Christmas baby so it would be nice to have one in the summer 😂

Forest1234 · 13/11/2023 16:49

Can I ask how’s everyone getting on with booking appointments pls? I’m 7wks and yet to hear anything. Guess a lot of us will be in the same boat turning 12w over the Christmas period, just a bit worried with how this might impact scans + we have plans for going away. Waiting is longgg

Hey! In my trust we can self refer using the MyPregnancy website so I did that and they updated it with my first midwife appointment a day later, I also got a letter from the hospital I had chosen to let me know my scan will be booked by the midwife at the 8 week appt and confirming that appointment 😊

justanotherlaura · 13/11/2023 17:30

My gp had to refer me, different from last time as we've moved cities. I've got my appointment for 8+6 but I have no idea when I'll find out my date for 12 week scan. It's a bit of a pain as we were supposed to be going abroad around when the scan will be

Last time I self referred and the midwife I spoke to gave me my 8 week and scan dates there and then

Hi I filled a referral form at the gp surgery and got a call from the midwife a week later with my booking appointment. It was originally for when I will be 12 weeks and I was worried that would mean my scan would be later so called back and they've given me a 1 off appointment at a different clinic that's earlier.
I was originally told I was likely to hear back any time between when I'm 8 weeks and 12 weeks. If you've not heard anything by next week I'd give them a call to follow up on it

Forest1234 · 13/11/2023 17:42

@Oneeightoneoh Thanks, we use same system here (but last pregnancy wasn’t used until later on- initial apts were booked via GP) Anyway, after some searching seen that it’s next week :) I didn’t get any sort of notification or anything though, guess I’m just going to have to randomly keep checking. Thanks again!

Forest1234 · 13/11/2023 17:43

@NphysT glad you got an earlier appointment, that really would have been a long wait!

Savvy21 · 13/11/2023 18:20

@bringmearainbow or anyone else? I've had a bit of a panic. If I'm currently under EPU do I need to self refer as well? Would hate to have my midwife appointment delayed by ages as would assume the two would line up but I've been wrong before!

bringmearainbow · 13/11/2023 18:27

@Savvy21 no they don't usually line up well not in my trust anyway though you would have thought they would 🙄 I self referred and mine came through fairly quickly this time. I have waited weeks on end for an appointment before which has been super frustrating

OP posts:
bringmearainbow · 13/11/2023 18:29

@Savvy21 it shouldn't be delayed they run booking appointments between week 8 and 10 so they will make sure you have an appointment around that time. It should be noted too that week 10 can mean anything up to 10+6 as I learned much to my dismay once 😂

FigandHoney · 13/11/2023 19:04

@Forest1234 So I self-referred through badger yesterday.
Tried to contact my GP today, as I have recently started weight lifting and wanted to check I can continue. They told me to contact the midwives. Which I did. They first checked my referral had gone through then told me they would contact me even I am 5 weeks to 6 weeks. Sounds like you are already past that? So I would maybe chase.

Btw they also told me I could continue to weight lifting but not to push myself. And not to do anything above the head or dumbells.

Today is the day AF was due at the latest. I keep checking the toilet paper

SarahBee87 · 13/11/2023 21:30

I have my booking appointment in the 28th November at exactly 8 weeks. It was meant to be in the 4th Dec but I said I’m away.

i haven’t got my dating scan appointment yet but I have an early scan on wed due to cramping last week.

Griffles · 14/11/2023 08:07

@Savvy21 I'm under the miscarriage clinic and still need to refer separately to my midwife via my GP

ChaTom · 14/11/2023 09:07

7+1 today. Is anyone else struggling with symptoms already? I fell asleep at 6pm last night, woke at 7:30pm and managed to get myself and my youngest child to bed, then fell asleep again until 1am and then back to sleep until 6am. I’m exhausted all the time but my sleep pattern is awful. I’m constantly nauseous, have thrush, bloating, bad skin, sore boobs and bad acid reflux. My hips are painful just walking. I don’t remember feeling so terrible this early on in my previous pregnancies.

Savvy21 · 14/11/2023 09:26

@Griffles @bringmearainbow thanks both - have self referred and just wrote a message in the form. Hope they read it 😂

FigandHoney · 14/11/2023 10:34

Good morning everyone.

Is anyone else sleeping really badly? I remember having this with my son.

Also just saw an advert for sneak peek. There is a black friday sale making it 69£. I am really tempted, even though I am aware it doesn't work for everyone.

Saw a single magpie this morning. Twice. Quickly said good morning to it. The superstition is getting me, eventhough I try not to let it. Argh

bringmearainbow · 14/11/2023 10:50

@FigandHoney I'm sleeping terribly too the toddler isn't helping with that either but once I'm awake trying to get back to sleep is a pain 🙄 I've always been put off sneak peak heard too many stories of it being incorrect always too many boys in my house to contaminate it 😂

Hello please can I join you , I have a 4 yr old DD we have been ttc no2 we had a MMC in April but this week we have a BFP . Tentatively excited but after last time i am hyper aware that things can go wrong

MummyBear2519 · 14/11/2023 11:11

I’ve had my 12 week scan date through the post today, 3rd of January.

I also got a 3+ on a digital the other day so promised myself I would relax more now.

Symptoms wise my boobs are still killing me. On and off dull craps and an appetite for only sandwiches. I do find I have to eat as soon as I wake or my stomach is rumbling like I’ve never eaten before.
