@WitcheryDivine yes me! Both pregnancies. It’s a miracle worker. I’ve found I can get away with taking it every 2 days rather than every day depending on what I eat. DH is also on it daily as his rheumatoid arthritis meds can be harsh on the stomach.

FirstT1meMum · 15/11/2023 07:26

Has anyone else found their appetite has changed again as we get further along? Didn't feel like eating anything at all yesterday and just don't feel hungry! Makes it quite hard when I know I need to probably be eating more!

Lilothblos · 15/11/2023 08:04

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 great news that baby is happy and safe in there. I’m surprised they said that about commuting to London, I’m still doing so too and will probably be doing so until 37 weeks. There must be thousands of women every year in the same position!

Lilothblos · 15/11/2023 08:06

@FirstT1meMum I seem to have had an insatiable appetite throughout but have definitely heard of others having decreasing appetite in third trimester, I’d imagine having less room for the stomach as baby grows has something to do with it!

Salamander91 · 15/11/2023 08:17

@WitcheryDivine not Omeprazole but I take lansoprazole (GERD prepregnancy) and have taken it the whole way through.

Yeah I know, I was working up til my due date in London with my first and I see pregnant women everywhere, so it seemed strange to me also. I think it was a fluke accident - pouring down with rain, slippery, busy, and I missed seeing the drain cover sticking up.

Mummyme87 · 15/11/2023 09:03

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 glad all was well, sorry you had a fall though. It’s such a shock isn’t it. Take paracetamol if you need it today, everything always hurts more in pregnancy due to all the stretched muscles and ligaments. The commuting to London comment is totally random… plenty of women do it, and it’s not the commuting that caused the fall as such, it’s the weather which can happen anywhere.

ive got two kids coming for a play date after school 🥴 it’s easier to have one night with both kids having friends, but the last thing I need!!

nearly done all baby washing, got muslins and white knitted cardigans in now. Then just have nappies to do. Planning to get them out in the rain at some point in the next week first before the washing machine.

also my pram comes today via DPD!

LittleAlien24 · 15/11/2023 09:04

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 good to hear baby is ok. And thank you, im really struggling because i wasn't separated from my second child after csection so it's hard to get it in my head

Mummyme87 · 08/11/2023 14:02

@Marple03 dont worry about your HB, 117 is totally normal at 28weeks, cut off is 105. 120-140 is normal for non pregnant levels ❤️

May I ask: I just got my 28w bloods back, these were all flagged as low. Is that normal?

Neutrophils flagged as high at 6.97, everything else showing as 'normal'

Ah thank you that’s encouraging re omeprazole! Barely sleeping at the moment with heartburn and it’s so boring to be throwing up again, so can’t wait to get the prescription.

Sorry to be boring but is there any chance of a pram/travel system roundup? I REALLY need to buy one this week so would be great to be reminded of what everyone else has got/is getting (and ideally why that one). Finding it all a bit mind boggling!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/11/2023 09:22

@Mummyme87 good luck with the play date, and you sound like you've got everything very organised!! Thanks for the reassurance about commuting also.

@WitcheryDivine depends where you are and what you need it for. We're just reusing our babyzen Yoyo. Reasons I love it - I lived in London with first and it's very light and small. Easy on tubes, can carry it with baby in it on stairs, easy to park up in busy restaurants and cafes at the table. We like travelling and it folds down really small into a car footwell and can be taken onto the plane in the overhead lockers.

Negatives - it's not so good on rough surfaces. We have a dog so do a lot of walking. It's okay on paths and mowed grass, but anything else not so much and we use a sling.

Have you done a test drive of a few!

Mushroo · 15/11/2023 09:33

@WitcheryDivine we went for a bugaboo dragonfly.

Pros - the whole thing folds down including the bassinet, and when folded it rests on the inside of the handlebars (hard to explain) but essentially the handles you push don’t have to go on the ground. Went for it because it’s quite small and light and we live in an urban area.

Cons - quite expensive, not as ‘pretty’ as some other prams. Not sure how well it will deal with rougher terrain but the marketing suggests it might be ok, shall see!

We also really liked the Nunas, but found the fold a bit more tricky and the handlebars rested on the ground when folded.

It’s compatible with loads of car seats, including maxi cosi 360s.

Mummyme87 · 15/11/2023 09:48

@Whataretheodds your HAemaglobin is 111 so normal in 3rd trimester. The other results there are irrelevant. Also the ranges are all non pregnant ranges. In pregnancy your bloods aren’t typically normal, you get raised inflammatory markers because you have a human growing inside of you, your HB drops because that human is also a parasite and takes EVERYTHING you need!!

@WitcheryDivine I have gone for the UPPAbaby Cruz. I’ve previously had bugaboo cameleon which I loved. But wanted something a bit smaller this time. It has a decent basket size, the carrycot is approved for overnight sleeping, the seat folds down with the frame, the wheels have some suspension so good for walks, it feels very sturdy and the seat parent faces aswell as outward facing which when I looked at some smaller prams they didn’t do that and it has a narrower frame than many so will definitely fit through our front door.
downside it’s slightly bigger than I had wanted, the carrycot is quite deep so storage in the car will be a little tighter, not the lightest in prams but equally not the heaviest, a bit more expensive than I had wanted to pay this time round but did get a good deal in the end for both carrycot and the pram itself. Other ones I looked at were baby zen yoyo, bugaboo dragonfly, bugaboo Fox3

Whataretheodds · 15/11/2023 10:27

@Mummyme87 thank you!

Matildahoney · 15/11/2023 10:48

Glad to hear all is ok @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7

@Mummyme87 and anyone else that has experienced it, I haven't felt baby move since 7am, when should I call the midwife to checked out? Don't want to over think things, sometimes it's very fidgety other times not so much, but usually reacts to food, I've just had breakfast & not a peep! Thanks! (Tagged mummyme87 from the professional point of view but happy to hear others too)

I’m not sure what’s going with me at the moment, after weeks of feeling so hungry I thought I was going to faint or something, now I’ve started feeling nauseous on and off.

@WitcheryDivine We've gone for the Bugaboo Fox 5, got 10% off and it came with the Cybex T I size car seat and base. The car seat is one that rotates on the base and you can lay it completely flat.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/11/2023 11:17

@Matildahoney I don't know if this is the right advice, but if I've not felt them for a few hours, and they aren't responding to normal triggers (for me) like eating or lying down, I personally would call the triage unit and just ask advice. They'll often get you in I think. I haven't had any this pregnancy yet, but had a few episodes of reduced movement last time and they always wanted to do a ctg to check

Mummyme87 · 15/11/2023 11:41

@Matildahoney everyone’s trigger to go in will be different, however if you would expect baby to have moved by this point in the day and you’ve done the usual things to get them moving, eating, drinking fluid, lie on left hand side, just go in to maternity triage.
whenever women ring and say they have concerns I always say, if you have a worry… come in. I find it hard to assess myself sometimes, like today baby nudged me at 7.30am but thinking about it, that’s about it. I have a busy brain today so hadn’t thought about movements yet.

Matildahoney · 15/11/2023 11:57

Thanks @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 & @Mummyme87 for your advice. I only have a desk job, so am usually quite aware of any movements while I'm just sat at my desk! I have nowhere I can go & lay, that being said I have just felt a few flutters while I've been typing this, so maybe just less movements than normal. It's hard being a FTM, I don' know if I'm overreacting cos' I don't know what to expect, but would never forgive myself if I left it & anything happened!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/11/2023 12:51

@Matildahoney I'm a 2nd time mum and still don't really know what's normal and what's not! Even @Mummyme87 is a 3rd time mum and a midwife and doesn't feel perfect movement every day the same. So glad you've felt some flutters now.

If you have long hours of not feeling anything, I'd call triage and check. I think they'll always be happy to talk you through it

Mummyme87 · 15/11/2023 13:10

Absolutely @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 and @Matildahoney 3rd time in and a midwife and I still doubt my concerns. Tell myself I’m overthinking it all the time. And the more babies you have the less time you have to think about things then panic at the last minute, not long before telling yourself it’s fine, before berating yourself for not paying enough attention to the current pregnancy. Never easy

buckingmad · 15/11/2023 13:24

@WitcheryDivine i have the mamas and papas ocarro from my first. Cons are it’s heavy and expensive. But pros are it’s so durable. It’s gone to the stables with me almost every day in mat leave and then 2-3 times a week the last year and a half and with a good clean it looks great still. It’s good for non city life but it is big and cumbersome the rare times I’ve got the bus/train with it. The basket underneath is a decent size too.

1992H · 15/11/2023 14:34

@WitcheryDivine I’m sticking with the joolz hub again this time. It served me well with the first two and despite around 4 years daily use and a lot of mileage still looks really neat for a decent clean.
nice and compact fold, not too wide but manages trips out fine. I do have a second outnabout nipper sport which I use for dog walks but that’s traipsed around forests, through the Peak District etc so not really the usual day to day use.
their lifetime guarantee sold me in the end & I’ve used it for lost parts (post flight to Mexico I was missing a brake cover) and despite being our error they still insisted on replacing free of charge.

theres so much choice out there! Good luck with making your final call!

MrsJ6921 · 15/11/2023 17:00

@WitcheryDivine We went for the Oyster 3 bundle but with the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat. I’ve found it relatively lightweight and compact so much it fits in my Fiat 500 😊

Onedayatatime24 · 15/11/2023 17:13

@WitcheryDivine We went for Ickle Bubba Stomp Luxe all-in-one Travel System. Mostly because I was sick of looking, it had good reviews and was a good price. 😂 It looks good and sturdy though, folds down easily, not too big, looks nice. Can swap the carrycot for the seat which can face forwards or backwards and the car seat goes on it too. That's basically all we wanted, easy to get in and out the car/house. We're not in the city or anywhere particularly rural so didn't need anything super robust, just wanted a travel system that was easy, middle of the road and not too expensive.

@FirstT1meMum I find I'm hungry but when I start eating I'm getting full way quicker! Then about an hour later I will feel hungry again. Very much just grazing throughout the day at the minute.
